Abstract
A component for use in a non-combustible aerosol provision system includes an inner body (11) comprising a first material and an outer body (12) comprising a second material, the outer body surrounding the inner body. A resistance to gaseous flow through the length of the inner body is less than a resistance to gaseous flow through the length of the outer body. There is also provided an article for use with a non-combustible aerosol provision device, the article including an aerosol generating material comprising at least one aerosol forming material a component. A method of manufacture is also described.

an inner body comprising a first material; and an outer body comprising a second material, the outer body surrounding the inner body, wherein a resistance to gaseous flow through the length of the inner body is less than a resistance to gaseous flow through the length of the outer body.
2 . A component according to claim 1 , wherein the first material and/or the second material comprises filamentary tow.
3 . A component according to claim 2 , wherein the filamentary tow comprises cellulose acetate.
4 . A component according to claim 2 , wherein the filamentary tow comprises filaments having a cross-section with an isoperimetric ratio of 25 or less, 20 or less, or 15 or less.
5 . A component according to claim 2 , wherein the filamentary tow comprises a weight per mm of length of the body which is between about 10% and about 30% of the range between the minimum and maximum weights of a tow capability curve generated for the filamentary tow.
6 . A component according to claim 1 , wherein the first material and/or the second material comprises paper.
7 . A component according to claim 1 , wherein the density of the first material is lower than the density of the second material.
8 . A component according to claim 1 , wherein the inner body is substantially cylindrical and/or the outer body is tubular.
9 . A component according to claim 1 , wherein the inner body and/or the outer body has a length in the range 5 mm to 15 mm.
10 . A component according to claim 1 , wherein the length of the inner body is substantially the same as the length of the outer body.
11 . A component according to claim 1 , further comprising an adhesive securing the inner body and the outer body to each other.
12 . A component according to claim 1 , further comprising a tubular body.
13 . A component according to claim 12 , wherein the tubular body defines a mouth end of the component.
14 . A component according to claim 12 , wherein the tubular body has a length of at least about 10 mm or at least about 12 mm.
15 . A component according to claim 1 , further comprising a wrapper surrounding the outer body.
16 . A component according to claim 15 , wherein the wrapper has a citrate content of 2% by weight or less, or 1% by weight or less.
17 . An article for use with a non-combustible aerosol provision device, comprising:
an aerosol generating material comprising at least one aerosol forming material; and a component according to claim 1 .
18 . An article according to claim 17 , further comprising a tubular section disposed downstream of the aerosol generating material.
19 . An article according to claim 18 , wherein the tubular section has a wall thickness between 0.5 mm and 2.5 mm.
20 . An article according to claim 18 , wherein the tubular section has a length of at least 10 mm.
21 . An article according to claim 18 , wherein the tubular section comprises a wall comprising an aerosol generating material.
22 . An article according to claim 18 , wherein the tubular section comprises paper having a thickness greater than 325 microns and/or a wall having a permeability of at least 100 Coresta Units.
23 . An article according to claim 17 , further comprising at least one ventilation area arranged to allow external air to flow into the article.
24 . An article according to claim 23 , wherein said at least one ventilation area comprises a single row of ventilation apertures.
25 . An article according to claim 23 , wherein said at least one ventilation area comprises two or more rows of ventilation apertures.
26 . An article according to claim 23 , wherein the aerosol generating material is wrapped by a wrapper having a level of permeability greater than about 1000 Coresta Units, or about 2000 Coresta Units.
27 . An article according to claim 23 , wherein the level of ventilation provided by said at least one ventilation area is within the range of 45% to 65% of the volume of aerosol generated by said non-combustible aerosol provision device passing through the article, or within the range of 40% to 60% of the volume of aerosol generated by said non-combustible aerosol provision device passing through the article.
28 . An article according to claim 17 , wherein the article is configured such that when the article is inserted into the non-combustible aerosol provision device, the minimum distance between a heater of the non-combustible aerosol provision device and the tubular section of the article is at least about 3 mm.
29 . A method of manufacturing a component for use in a non-combustible aerosol provision system, the method comprising:
forming an inner body; and forming an outer body surrounding the inner body, wherein a resistance to gaseous flow through the length of the inner body is less than a resistance to gaseous flow through the length of the outer body.
30 . A method according to claim 29 , wherein forming the outer body comprises forming the outer body integrally with the inner body.
