Systems and methods for shared ledger for sub-merchant onboarding
Abstract
A computer-implemented method for generating and maintaining shared ledgers for sub-merchant onboarding includes receiving a request from a payment facilitator to onboard a sub-merchant, receiving information about the sub-merchant from the payment facilitator or the sub-merchant, providing the information about the sub-merchant to a third party, receiving underwriting information corresponding to the information about the sub-merchant from the third party, generating an onboarding decision based on the information about the sub-merchant and the underwriting information, storing the information about the sub-merchant, the underwriting information, and the onboarding decision to a shared ledger, and generating and transmitting an electronic offer of a product or a service to the sub-merchant based on the stored contents of the shared ledger.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A computer-implemented method for generating and maintaining shared ledgers for sub-merchant onboarding, the method comprising:
obtaining, at a sales module associated with an electronic payment processing system, merchant information and payment facilitator information; transmitting, subsequent to the obtaining and via usage of an onboarding module associated with the electronic payment processing system, the merchant information and the payment facilitator information to an underwriting module associated with the electronic payment processing system; determining, using the underwriting module and based on the merchant information and the payment facilitator information, an on-boarding decision for a sub-merchant and a payment facilitator; and publishing, subsequent to the determining, the on-boarding decision to a shared ledger.
2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the obtaining the merchant information comprises obtaining the merchant information from the payment facilitator.
3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the onboarding decision corresponds to a partnership determination between the sub-merchant, the payment facilitator, and an acquirer processor.
4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the determining the on-boarding decision comprises:
obtaining, from one or more third party sources, verification information associated with the sub-merchant; and publishing the verification information onto the shared ledger.
5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:
completing, responsive to determining that the on-boarding decision is positive, an onboarding process for the sub-merchant and the payment facilitator; and accepting, subsequent to the completing, transactions submitted by the sub-merchant.
6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:
accessing, in the shared ledger, profile data associated with the sub-merchant and the payment facilitator, wherein the profile data comprises historical transaction data; identifying one or more attributes associated with an additional product or service; generating, upon comparing the profile data associated with the sub-merchant and the payment facilitator with the identified one or more attributes, a score; and determining, based on the generated score, whether to construct an offer for the additional product or service to the sub-merchant.
7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:
storing, in a non-relational database, the merchant information, the payment facilitator information, and a hierarchical relationship designation between the sub-merchant and the payment facilitator; and enabling, within the non-relational database, editing and/or updating of the merchant information, the payment facilitator information, and/or the hierarchical relationship designation; wherein the database is external to the shared ledger.
8 . A system for generating and maintaining shared ledgers for sub-merchant onboarding, the system comprising:
a data storage device storing instructions for shared ledger for sub-merchant onboarding in an electronic storage medium; and a processor configured to execute the instructions to perform a method including: obtaining, at a sales module associated with an electronic payment processing system, merchant information and payment facilitator information; transmitting, subsequent to the obtaining and via usage of an onboarding module associated with the electronic payment processing system, the merchant information and the payment facilitator information to an underwriting module associated with the electronic payment processing system; determining, using the underwriting module and based on the merchant information and the payment facilitator information, an on-boarding decision for a sub-merchant and a payment facilitator; and publishing, subsequent to the determining, the on-boarding decision to a shared ledger.
9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the obtaining the merchant information comprises obtaining the merchant information from the payment facilitator.
10 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the onboarding decision corresponds to a partnership determination between the sub-merchant, the payment facilitator, and an acquirer processor.
11 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the determining the on-boarding decision comprises:
obtaining, from one or more third party sources, verification information associated with the sub-merchant; and publishing the verification information onto the shared ledger.
12 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the system is further configured for:
completing, responsive to determining that the on-boarding decision is positive, an onboarding process for the sub-merchant and the payment facilitator; and accepting, subsequent to the completing, transactions submitted by the sub-merchant.
13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the system is further configured for:
accessing, in the shared ledger, profile data associated with the sub-merchant and the payment facilitator, wherein the profile data comprises historical transaction data; identifying one or more attributes associated with an additional product or service; generating, upon comparing the profile data associated with the sub-merchant and the payment facilitator with the identified one or more attributes, a score; and determining, based on the generated score, whether to construct an offer for the additional product or service to the sub-merchant.
14 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the system is further configured for:
storing, in a non-relational database, the merchant information, the payment facilitator information, and a hierarchical relationship designation between the sub-merchant and the payment facilitator; and enabling, within the non-relational database, editing and/or updating of the merchant information, the payment facilitator information, and/or the hierarchical relationship designation; wherein the database is external to the shared ledger.
15 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computing system, causes the computing system to perform a method for generating and maintaining shared ledgers for sub-merchant onboarding, the method including:
obtaining, at a sales module associated with an electronic payment processing system, merchant information and payment facilitator information; transmitting, subsequent to the obtaining and via usage of an onboarding module associated with the electronic payment processing system, the merchant information and the payment facilitator information to an underwriting module associated with the electronic payment processing system; determining, using the underwriting module and based on the merchant information and the payment facilitator information, an on-boarding decision for a sub-merchant and a payment facilitator; and publishing, subsequent to the determining, the on-boarding decision to a shared ledger.
16 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the onboarding decision corresponds to a partnership determination between the sub-merchant, the payment facilitator, and an acquirer processor.
17 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the determining the on-boarding decision comprises:
obtaining, from one or more third party sources, verification information associated with the sub-merchant; and publishing the verification information onto the shared ledger.
18 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , the method further comprising:
completing, responsive to determining that the on-boarding decision is positive, an onboarding process for the sub-merchant and the payment facilitator; and accepting, subsequent to the completing, transaction submitted by the sub-merchant.
19 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , the method further comprising:
accessing, in the shared ledger, profile data associated with the sub-merchant and the payment facilitator, wherein the profile data comprises historical transaction data; identifying one or more attributes associated with an additional product or service; generating, upon comparing the profile data associated with the sub-merchant and the payment facilitator with the identified one or more attributes, a score; and determining, based on the generated score, whether to construct an offer for the additional product or service to the sub-merchant.
20 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , the method further comprising:
storing, in a non-relational database, the merchant information, the payment facilitator information, and a hierarchical relationship designation between the sub-merchant and the payment facilitator; and enabling, within the non-relational database, editing and/or updating of the merchant information, the payment facilitator information, and/or the hierarchical relationship designation; wherein the database is external to the shared ledger.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
