Abstract
Example invertible meter apparatus and related methods are disclosed. An example meter to monitor a media device includes a housing defining a cavity and a display area. The display area is separated from the cavity via a wall defining the display area. metering circuitry is positioned in the cavity of the housing. A stencil is to couple to the display area. The display area to be accessible from an exterior of the housing and is structured to removably receive the stencil without accessing the cavity or exposing the metering circuitry.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A meter to measure media content, the meter comprising:
a housing defining a cavity and a display area, the display area separated from the cavity via a wall defining the display area; metering circuitry positioned in the cavity of the housing; and a stencil to couple to the display area, the display area to be accessible from an exterior of the housing and is structured to removably receive the stencil without accessing the cavity or exposing the metering circuitry.
2 . The meter of claim 1 , further including a cover removably coupled to the housing to enable access to the stencil positioned in the display area.
3 . The meter of claim 2 , wherein the cover is to overlap at least a portion of the stencil when the cover is coupled to the housing.
4 . The meter of claim 2 , wherein the cover does not enable access to the cavity when the cover is removed from the housing.
5 . The meter of claim 4 , wherein the stencil is accessible in response to removing the cover from the housing.
6 . The meter of claim 1 , wherein the wall includes a first recessed surface and a second recessed surface adjacent the first recessed surface.
7 . The meter of claim 6 , wherein the first recessed surface is offset relative to the second recessed surface such that the second recessed surface defines the display area.
8 . The meter of claim 1 , wherein the housing is positionable in at least one of a first orientation or a second orientation different than the first orientation when the stencil is coupled to the housing.
9 . The meter of claim 8 , wherein the housing is structured to attach to a body of a media presentation device in at least one of a landscape orientation or a portrait orientation.
10 . A meter comprising:
a housing having a body defining:
an internal cavity to hold a circuit board;
an exterior wall to define a display area structured to receive a stencil, the display area defined by the exterior wall to restrict access to the internal cavity; and
a mounting surface to enable the housing to be mounted to a side edge of a media presentation device; and
a cover removably coupled to the housing to enable access to the display area.
11 . The meter of claim 10 , wherein the mounting surface is a bottom side of the housing.
12 . The meter of claim 10 , wherein the mounting surface has a thickness that does not exceed a thickness of the media presentation device.
13 . The meter of claim 10 , wherein the mounting surface enables the housing to be mounted to at least one of a top-side edge of the media presentation device, a right-side edge of the media presentation device, a bottom-side edge of the media presentation device, or a left-side edge of the media presentation device.
14 . The meter of claim 13 , further including a stencil removably coupled to the display area, the stencil including a front surface including a plurality of visual indicators representative of different panelists.
15 . The meter of claim 14 , wherein the stencil structured to be removably repositionable in the display area of the housing to orient the visual indicators in a right-side up orientation when the housing is mounted to the at least one of the top-side edge of the media presentation device, the right-side edge of the media presentation device, the bottom-side edge of the media presentation device, or the left-side edge of the media presentation device.
16 . The meter of claim 14 , wherein the cover is to overlap the visual indicators of the stencil when the cover is coupled to the housing.
17 . The meter of claim 10 , wherein removal of the cover from the housing does not enable access to the internal cavity of the housing.
18 . A housing of a meter to measure media content, the housing comprising:
a body defining a cavity; a display area; a wall separating the cavity and the display area; and a mounting surface to enable the housing to be mounted to at least one of a right-side edge of the media presentation device, a bottom-side edge of the media presentation device, or a left-side edge of the media presentation device.
19 . The meter of claim 18 , wherein the mounting surface has a thickness that fits within a thickness of a side edge of a television.
20 . The meter of claim 18 , further including a stencil removably coupled to a display area of the housing, the stencil structured to be repositionable in the display area of the housing to orient visual indicators of the stencil in a right-side up orientation when the housing is mounted to the at least one of the right-side edge of the media presentation device, the bottom-side edge of the media presentation device, or the left-side edge of the media presentation device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
