Abstract

A station device in a biometric pre-identification system uses identity to perform one or more actions. Identities are determined (such as via a backend) using biometric information. A biometric pre-identification device obtains biometric information and/or a digital representation thereof from a person approaching the station device. The biometric pre-identification device transmits such to the station device, facilitating the station to begin and/or perform various actions. The station device begins or performs the actions using the identity determined based on the biometric information before the person arrives at the station device.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A system, comprising:
a biometric reader device configured to obtain a facial image for a person; and a processor configured to:
receive an indication of an identity of the person, the identity determined using the facial image of the person; and
prepare a credential using the indication of the identity of the person.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the credential includes a boarding pass.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the credential includes a luggage tag.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the credential is waiting for the person when the person arrives at an electronic device associated with the processor.

5 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the electronic device is a check-in station.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the biometric reader device comprises a camera.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the credential comprises a physical credential.

         8 . A system, comprising:
a non-transitory storage medium storing instructions; and a processor that executes the instructions to:
 obtain a digital representation of a biometric for a person;
determine an identity of the person using the digital representation of the biometric; and
prepare a credential using the identity of the person.

9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the credential comprises a physical item.

10 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the digital representation of the biometric comprises at least a portion of a face of the person.

11 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor prepares the credential using a printer.

12 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor determines the identity of the person using the digital representation of the biometric by transmitting the digital representation of the biometric to an electronic device.

13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the processor receives an indication of the identity of the person.

14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the processor receives the indication of the identity of the person in response to transmitting the digital representation of the biometric.

         15 . A system, comprising:
a printer; and a processor configured to:
determine an identity of a person using a digital representation of a biometric for the person; and
signal the printer to prepare a physical credential using the identity of the person.

16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the physical credential identifies the person.

17 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the processor uses the identity to determine whether the person has a ticket for a flight.

18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the processor obtains information for the flight.

19 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the physical credential includes information about an authorization to which the person is entitled.

20 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the processor calls for assistance for the person.
