System for fan-based creation and composition of cross-franchise content
Abstract
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device having a processing system including a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations of deriving one or more building blocks from original content of a franchise; providing a search interface enabling a user to discover the one or more building blocks, wherein the user selects a set of building blocks from the one or more building blocks for creating user generated content; providing a composition module enabling the user to manipulate the set of building blocks to create the user generated content; and applying one or more policies of the franchise concerning the user generated content, wherein the one or more policies ensure that the user generated content complies with objectives of the franchise. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A device, comprising:
a processing system including a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising: providing a search interface to enable a user to discover a plurality of building blocks associated with original content of a franchise, wherein the user selects a set of building blocks from the plurality of building blocks; providing a composition module to enable the user to manipulate the set of building blocks to create user-generated content; and applying a policy associated with the user-generated content, wherein the applying of the policy enables compliance of the user-generated content with objectives of the franchise, and wherein the policy governs visual splicing of characters into scenes to create the user-generated content.
2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise deriving the plurality of building blocks from the original content of the franchise.
3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the policy further governs substitution of one scene for another scene to create the user-generated content.
4 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the policy further governs modification of lighting to create the user-generated content.
5 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the policy further governs replacement of dialog to create the user-generated content.
6 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of building blocks include an image of a particular character, a location in the franchise, an extended scene or set of shots, a narrative object, or a combination thereof.
7 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of building blocks are derived from a plurality of creation dates associated with the original content.
8 . The device of claim 1 , wherein a user interface of the composition module includes direct forms, list selections, and graphical indicators.
9 . The device of claim 1 , wherein a user interface of the composition module includes complex visual indicators comprising sliders representing extremes of oppositional concepts or visual components of the plurality of building blocks.
10 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the policy prevents improper usage of the original content, improper distribution of the user-generated content, or a combination thereof.
11 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise rendering the user-generated content as a video clip, an audio clip, or an audiovisual stream.
12 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
providing a search interface to enable a user to discover a plurality of building blocks associated with original content of a franchise; providing a composition module to enable the user to manipulate a set of building blocks of the plurality of building blocks to create user-generated content; and applying a policy associated with the user-generated content, wherein the applying of the policy enables compliance of the user-generated content with objectives of the franchise, and wherein the policy governs substitution of one scene for another scene to create the user-generated content.
13 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 12 , wherein the user selects the set of building blocks from the plurality of building blocks.
14 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 12 , wherein the operations further comprise deriving the plurality of building blocks from the original content of the franchise.
15 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 12 , wherein the policy further governs, modification of lighting, visual splicing of characters into scene, replacement of dialog, or any combination thereof, to create the user-generated content.
16 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 12 , wherein the policy prevents improper usage of the original content, improper distribution of the user-generated content, or a combination thereof.
17 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 12 , wherein the operations further comprise rendering the user-generated content as a video clip, an audio clip, or an audiovisual stream.
18 . A method, comprising:
providing, by a processing system including a processor, a search interface to enable a user to discover a plurality of building blocks associated with original content of a franchise, wherein the user selects a set of building blocks from the plurality of building blocks; providing, by the processing system, a composition module to enable the user to manipulate the set of building blocks to create user-generated content; and applying, by the processing system, a policy associated with the user-generated content, wherein the applying of the policy enables compliance of the user-generated content with objectives of the franchise, and wherein the policy governs procedures to create the user-generated content.
19 . The method of claim 18 , further comprising deriving, by the processing system, the plurality of building blocks from the original content of the franchise.
20 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the policy further governs visual splicing of characters into scenes, substitution of one scene for another scene, modification of lighting, replacement of dialog, or any combination thereof to create the user-generated content.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
