Abstract
A plastic bag separator is a plastic bag separation device having a rubberized nub at a first end and a key chain ring aperture at a second end. The rubberized end may be utilized to push open and separate the edges of a plastic bag. The separator may have at least one logo which provides the ancillary benefit of being a gripping edge.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
. A bag separator, comprising:
a first end portion adapted to contact an individual bag during a separation process; a center portion having a first side, a second side, a first end and a second end; a second end portion adapted to be supported by a support structure, the second end portion is an extended portion of the second end of the center portion; a post extending from the first end portion; and a notch disposed on a midpoint of the second end portion, the notch of the second end portion accepts the post from the first end portion.
. The bag separator, according to claim 1 , wherein the center portion includes a plurality of rounded corners.
. The bag separator, according to claim 1 , wherein the center portion includes a plurality of anti-snag corners.
. The bag separator, according to claim 1 , wherein the first side and the second side of the center portion each include a perimeter border disposed therearound.
. The bag separator, according to claim 1 , wherein a first logo resides on the first side of the center portion.
. The bag separator, according to claim 5 , wherein the first logo serves as a gripping element when the bag separator is in use.
. The bag separator, according to claim 1 , wherein a second logo resides on the second side of the center portion.
. The bag separator, according to claim 7 , wherein the second logo serves as a gripping element when the bag separator is in use.
. The bag separator, according to claim 1 , wherein the center portion is 0.188 in. in thickness at the first end of the center portion to facilitate grasping the bag separator.
. The bag separator, according to claim 1 , wherein the center portion is 0.188 in. in thickness at the second end of the center portion to facilitate grasping the bag separator.
. The bag separator, according to claim 1 , wherein the center portion is generally rectangular shaped.
. The bag separator, according to claim 1 , wherein the second end portion includes a pair of angled walls, a first angled wall that extends minimally outward at a rearward angle from the first side of the center portion, and a second angled wall that extends minimally outward at the rearward angle from the second side of the center portion.
. The bag separator, according to claim 1 , wherein a plurality of flanged sections extend rearwardly from a plurality of distal edges of the angled walls and the angled walls and the flanged section have a width coextensive with the center portion and the flanged section are oriented in a plane parallel with the center portion.
. The bag separator, according to claim 13 , wherein an aperture is disposed on each of the flanged sections that are aligned with each other to enable the bag separator to be suspended from the support structure.
. The bag separator, according to claim 1 , wherein a proximal end of the post is permanently affixed to the notch.
. The bag separator, according to claim 15 , wherein the proximal end of the post is removably attached to the notch.
. The bag separator, according to claim 1 , wherein the post is coextensive with the width of the second end portion when inserted within the notch.
. The bag separator, according to claim 1 , wherein the post is cylindrical shaped that extends outwardly away from the center portion.
. The bag separator, according to claim 1 , further comprising a pommel disposed on a distal end of the post.
. The bag separator, according to claim 19 , wherein a rubber cover is removably attached on the first end portion covers the pommel and a part of the post.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
