System and method for social home buying

Abstract

Example embodiments disclose systems and methods for providing a property profile for a property. The disclosed systems and methods enable receiving, via a network at a social home buying system, identifying data from a mobile device, receiving location data, via a network at a social home buying system, from the mobile device, retrieving property data from a property information database that stores information about the property based on the at least one of the identifying data and location data, creating a property profile based on the property data, identifying data, and location data, storing the property profile in a property profile database, and providing the property profile via a network to a social networking site.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A system comprising:
 one or more processors; and   memory storing instructions, that when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
 create a property profile comprising property location data corresponding to a physical location of a physical property; 
 link the property profile to a first social networking account on a social networking site; 
 aggregate social data of the first social networking account, the social data comprising user input corresponding to the property profile and received from at least some of a plurality of second social networking accounts of the social networking site; 
 update the property profile to include the aggregated social data; 
 receive user location data from a mobile device associated with a user of at least one of the plurality of second social networking accounts; 
 determine a proximity between the mobile device and the physical property based on a comparison of the user location data of the mobile device to the property location data; 
 generate a customized location-based notification within a graphical user interface (GUI) based on the proximity between the mobile device and the physical property, the customized location-based notification comprising an indication that the user previously contributed at least a portion of the social data corresponding to the property profile; and 
 transmit the customized location-based notification to the mobile device. 
   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further configured to cause the one or more processors to:
 receive social network responses corresponding to the property profile, wherein the social data comprises the social network responses.   
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the property location data and the user location data each comprises global positioning system coordinate data. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the property location data is received from a third-party data source. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 4 , wherein the third-party data source comprises a multiple listing services database. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further configured to cause the one or more processors to:
 associate the property profile with data corresponding to a nearby establishment.   
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 6 , wherein the instructions are further configured to cause the one or more processors to:
 determine, based on the property location data, whether the physical property is within a threshold distance from the nearby establishment.   
     
     
         8 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the customized location-based notification comprises at least one of data corresponding to a nearby establishment, whether the physical property is within a threshold distance of an establishment, a photo of the physical property, and at least some of the social data. 
     
     
         9 . A method comprising:
 creating, by one or more processors, a property profile comprising property location data corresponding to a physical location of a physical property;   linking, via a network, the property profile to a first social networking account on a social networking site;   aggregating, by the one or more processors, social data of the first social networking account, the social data comprising user input corresponding to the property profile and received from at least some of a plurality of second social networking accounts of the social networking site;   updating, by the one or more processors, the property profile to include the aggregated social data;   receiving, by the one or more processors, user location data from a mobile device associated with a user of at least one of the plurality of second social networking accounts;   determining, by the one or more processors, a proximity between the mobile device and the physical property based on a comparison of the user location data of the mobile device to the property location data;   generating, by the one or more processors, a customized location-based notification within a graphical user interface (GUI) based on the proximity between the mobile device and the physical property, the customized location-based notification comprising an indication that the user previously contributed at least a portion of the social data corresponding to the property profile; and   transmitting, by the one or more processors, the customized location-based notification to the mobile device.   
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , further comprising:
 receiving, by the one or more processors, social network responses corresponding to the property profile, wherein the social data comprises the social network responses.   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the property location data and the user location data each comprises global positioning system coordinate data. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the property location data is received from a third-party data source. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 12 , wherein the third-party data source comprises a multiple listing services database. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 9 , further comprising:
 associating the property profile with data corresponding to a nearby establishment.   
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 14 , further comprising:
 determining, via the one or more processors and based on the property location data, whether the physical property is within a threshold distance from the nearby establishment.   
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the customized location-based notification comprises at least one of data corresponding to a nearby establishment, whether the physical property is within a threshold distance of an establishment, a photo of the physical property, and at least some of the social data. 
     
     
         17 . A system comprising:
 one or more processors; and   memory storing instructions, that when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
 create a property profile associated with a physical property; 
 link the property profile to a first social networking account on a social networking site; 
 aggregate social data of the first social networking account, the social data comprising user input corresponding to the property profile and received from one or more second social networking accounts of the social networking site; 
 receive user location data from a user device associated with a user of the one or more second social networking accounts; 
 determine a proximity between the user device and the physical property based on a comparison of the user location data of the user device to a location of the physical property; 
 generate a customized notification within a graphical user interface (GUI) based on the proximity between the user device and the physical property, the customized notification comprising an indication that the user previously contributed at least a portion of the social data corresponding to the property profile; and 
 transmit the customized notification to the user device. 
   
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 17 , wherein the property profile comprises property location data received from a multiple listing services database. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 17 , wherein the instructions are further configured to cause the one or more processors to:
 associate the property profile with data corresponding to a nearby establishment; and   determine, based on the location of the physical property, whether the physical property is within a threshold distance from the nearby establishment.   
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 17 , wherein the customized notification comprises at least one of data corresponding to a nearby establishment, whether the physical property is within a threshold distance of an establishment, a photo of the physical property, and at least some of the social data.
