Abstract

In various examples, the subject matter of this disclosure relates to devices, systems, and methods for multi-filtration air purification systems. According to one embodiment, a multi-filtration air purification system can include a first air filter including photocatalytic oxidizer (PCO) filter having a ultraviolet (UV) emitter, where the first air filter can be disposed within an air filter receiving region of the multi-filtration air purification system. In an implementation, the multi-filtration air purification system can include a second air filter disposed within an air exhaust region or within the air filter receiving region of the multi-filtration air purification system. In some instances, the second air filter can include at least one of a cold catalytic oxidation (CCO) filter, or a thermal catalytic oxidation (TCO) filter.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A multi-filtration air purification system, the system comprising:
 a first air filter comprising photocatalytic oxidizer (PCO) filter comprising an ultraviolet (UV) emitter, wherein the first air filter is disposed within an air filter receiving region of the multi-filtration air purification system; and   a second air filter disposed within an air exhaust region of the multi-filtration air purification system.   
     
     
         2 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 1 , wherein the first air filter comprises an ultraviolet (UV) band C emitter. 
     
     
         3 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 1 , wherein the UV emitter is configured to emit light having a wavelength in a range of approximately 200-400 nm. 
     
     
         4 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 1 , wherein the second air filter comprises at least one of a cold catalytic oxidation (CCO) filter, or a thermal catalytic oxidation (TCO) filter. 
     
     
         5 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 1 , further comprising a third air filter disposed over the first air filter, the third air filter comprising a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter and configured to fit over, and cover, the first air filter. 
     
     
         6 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 5 , wherein the third air filter comprises at least one of a removable air filter, or a replaceable air filter. 
     
     
         7 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 5 , further comprising a fourth air filter disposed over the third air filter, the fourth air filter comprising a pre-filter and configured to fit over, and cover, the third air filter. 
     
     
         8 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 7 , wherein the fourth air filter comprises at least one of a removable air filter, or a replaceable air filter. 
     
     
         9 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 1 , wherein the first air filter comprises one or more PCO filters. 
     
     
         10 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 1 , wherein the first air filter comprises a top PCO filter and a bottom PCO filter. 
     
     
         11 . A multi-filtration air purification system, the system comprising:
 an ultraviolet (UV) emitter disposed within an air filter receiving region of the multi-filtration air purification system; and   a first air filter disposed within the air filter receiving region.   
     
     
         12 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 11 , wherein the first air filter comprises at least one of a CCO filter, or a TCO filter. 
     
     
         13 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 11 , further comprising a second air filter disposed over the first air filter, the second air filter comprising a PCO filter and configured to fit over, and cover, the first air filter. 
     
     
         14 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 13 , wherein the second air filter comprises at least one of a removable air filter, or a replaceable air filter. 
     
     
         15 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 14 , further comprising a third air filter disposed over the second air filter, the third air filter comprising at least one of a HEPA filter or a pre-filter, and configured to fit over, and cover, the second air filter. 
     
     
         16 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 15 , wherein the third air filter comprises at least one of a removable air filter, or a replaceable air filter. 
     
     
         17 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 11 , wherein the first air filter comprises a PCO filter. 
     
     
         18 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 11 , wherein the first air filter comprises at least one of a removable air filter, or a replaceable air filter. 
     
     
         19 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 17 , further comprising a second air filter disposed over the first air filter, the second air filter comprising at least one of a CCO filter, a TCO filter, or a HEPA filter and configured to fit over, and cover, the first air filter. 
     
     
         20 . The multi-filtration air purification system of  claim 19 , wherein the second air filter comprises at least one of a removable air filter, or a replaceable air filter. 
     
     
         21 . A multi-filter air purification method, the method comprising:
 using a first air filter comprising photocatalytic oxidizer (PCO) comprising a ultraviolet (UV) emitter configured to filter incoming air for harmful pathogens, wherein the first air filter is disposed within an air filter receiving region of the multi-filtration air purification system; and   using a second air filter disposed within the multi-filtration air purification system to filter volatile organic compounds (VOCs) produced by the first air filter.   
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the second air filter is disposed within an air exhaust region or disposed within the air filter receiving region of the multi-filtration air purification system. 
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the second air filter comprises at least one of a cold catalytic oxidation (CCO) filter, or a thermal catalytic oxidation (TCO) filter.
