Abstract

The disclosure relates to a communication technique for converging a 5G communication system, which is provided to support a higher data transmission rate beyond a 4G system with an IoT technology, and a system therefor. The disclosure may be applied to intelligent services (e.g., smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, health care, digital education, retail business, security and safety related service, or the like) based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT related technology. The embodiment of the disclosure relates to an uplink data retransmission method. In addition, the embodiment of the disclosure relates to a method for adjusting time synchronization of an uplink.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
 receiving, from a base station, information for configuring a discontinuous reception (DRX);   receiving, from the base station, configuration information on a transmission without dynamic scheduling;   determining whether there is an uplink transmission or a downlink transmission based on the configuration information while the DRX is configured; and   starting a hybrid automatic repeat and request (HARQ) round trip time (RTT) timer at a time, in case that there is the uplink transmission or the downlink transmission, the HARQ RTT timer being for a HARQ process corresponding to the uplink transmission or the downlink transmission.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 ,
 wherein the configuration information includes information on a configured uplink transmission, and   wherein, in case that data is transmitted in a configured uplink grant for the configured uplink transmission, the time is a time after a first repetition of the configured uplink transmission.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 ,
 wherein the configuration information includes information on a downlink semi-persistent transmission, and   wherein, in case that data is received in a configured downlink resource for the downlink semi-persistent transmission, the time is a time after an end of a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission corresponding to the data.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 ,
 wherein the information includes information on a timer related to an active time for an operation of the DRX, and   wherein the HARQ RTT timer is started irrespective of the active time according to the timer.   
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 starting a first DRX retransmission timer for the HARQ process of the uplink transmission based on the HARQ RTT timer being expired, in case that there is the uplink transmission; and   starting a second DRX retransmission timer for the HARQ process of the downlink transmission based on the HARQ RTT timer being expired, in case that there is the downlink transmission and data of the downlink transmission is not decoded successfully.   
     
     
         6 . A method performed by a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
 transmitting, to a terminal, information for configuring a discontinuous reception (DRX);   transmitting, to the terminal, configuration information on a transmission without dynamic scheduling; and   performing a communication with the terminal based on the information and the configuration information,   wherein the communication includes an uplink transmission or a downlink transmission, and   wherein a hybrid automatic repeat and request (HARQ) round trip time (RTT) timer is started at a time in the terminal based on the uplink transmission or the downlink transmission, the HARQ RTT timer being for a HARQ process corresponding to the uplink transmission or the downlink transmission.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 ,
 wherein the configuration information includes information on a configured uplink transmission, and   wherein, in case that data is transmitted in a configured uplink grant for the configured uplink transmission, the time is a time after a first repetition of the configured uplink transmission.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 6 ,
 wherein the configuration information includes information on a downlink semi-persistent transmission, and   wherein, in case that data is received in a configured downlink resource for the downlink semi-persistent transmission, the time is a time after an end of a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission corresponding to the data.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 6 ,
 wherein the information includes information on a timer related to an active time for an operation of the DRX, and   wherein the HARQ RTT timer is started irrespective of the active time according to the timer.   
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 6 ,
 wherein a first DRX retransmission timer for the HARQ process of the uplink transmission is started in the terminal, based on the HARQ RTT timer being expired, in case that the communication is the uplink transmission, and   wherein a second DRX retransmission timer for the HARQ process of the downlink transmission is started in the terminal, based on the HARQ RTT timer being expired, in case that the communication is the downlink transmission and data of the downlink transmission is not decoded successfully.   
     
     
         11 . A terminal in a wireless communication system, the terminal comprising:
 a transceiver; and   a controller configured to:
 receive, from a base station via the transceiver, information for configuring a discontinuous reception (DRX), 
 receive, from the base station via the transceiver, configuration information on a transmission without dynamic scheduling, 
 determine whether there is an uplink transmission or a downlink transmission based on the configuration information while the DRX is configured, and 
 start a hybrid automatic repeat and request (HARQ) round trip time (RTT) timer at a time, in case that there is the uplink transmission or the downlink transmission, the HARQ RTT timer being for a HARQ process corresponding to the uplink transmission or the downlink transmission. 
   
     
     
         12 . The terminal of  claim 11 ,
 wherein the configuration information includes information on a configured uplink transmission, and   wherein, in case that data is transmitted in a configured uplink grant for the configured uplink transmission, the time is a time after a first repetition of the configured uplink transmission.   
     
     
         13 . The terminal of  claim 11 ,
 wherein the configuration information includes information on a downlink semi-persistent transmission, and   wherein, in case that data is received in a configured downlink resource for the downlink semi-persistent transmission, the time is a time after an end of a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission corresponding to the data.   
     
     
         14 . The terminal of  claim 11 ,
 wherein the information includes information on a timer related to an active time for an operation of the DRX, and   wherein the HARQ RTT timer is started irrespective of the active time according to the timer.

The terminal of  claim 11 , wherein the controller is further configured to start a first DRX retransmission timer for the HARQ process of the uplink transmission based on the HARQ RTT timer being expired, in case that there is the uplink transmission, and start a second DRX retransmission timer for the HARQ process of the downlink transmission based on the HARQ RTT timer being expired, in case that there is the downlink transmission and data of the downlink transmission is not decoded successfully. 
     
     
         16 . A base station in a wireless communication system, the base station comprising:
 a transceiver; and   a controller configured to:
 transmit, to a terminal via the transceiver, information for configuring a discontinuous reception (DRX), 
 transmit, to the terminal via the transceiver, configuration information on a transmission without dynamic scheduling, and 
 perform a communication with the terminal based on the information and the configuration information, 
   wherein the communication includes an uplink transmission or a downlink transmission, and   wherein a hybrid automatic repeat and request (HARQ) round trip time (RTT) timer is started at a time in the terminal based on the uplink transmission or the downlink transmission, the HARQ RTT timer being for a HARQ process corresponding to the uplink transmission or the downlink transmission.   
     
     
         17 . The base station of  claim 16 ,
 wherein the configuration information includes information on a configured uplink transmission, and   wherein, in case that data is transmitted in a configured uplink grant for the configured uplink transmission, the time is a time after a first repetition of the configured uplink transmission.   
     
     
         18 . The base station of  claim 16 ,
 wherein the configuration information includes information on a downlink semi-persistent transmission, and   wherein, in case that data is received in a configured downlink resource for the downlink semi-persistent transmission, the time is a time after an end of a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission corresponding to the data.   
     
     
         19 . The base station of  claim 16 ,
 wherein the information includes information on a timer related to an active time for an operation of the DRX, and   wherein the HARQ RTT timer is started irrespective of the active time according to the timer.   
     
     
         20 . The base station of  claim 16 ,
 wherein a first DRX retransmission timer for the HARQ process of the uplink transmission is started in the terminal, based on the HARQ RTT timer being expired, in case that the communication is the uplink transmission, and   wherein a second DRX retransmission timer for the HARQ process of the downlink transmission is started in the terminal, based on the HARQ RTT timer being expired, in case that the communication is the downlink transmission and data of the downlink transmission is not decoded successfully.
