Abstract

A boxing bag frame assembly includes a rectangular perimeter frame formed by perimeter frame members raised from the ground and supported by support posts, and a movable cross member which extends between two opposing perimeter frame members. Both ends of the cross member include roller assemblies which are movable along the frame members, thus allowing the cross member to be movable along the frame members. The cross member further includes a bag mount which also includes a roller assembly, such that the bag mount is movable along the cross member. The movability of the bag mount and the cross member allows a boxing bag to pivot, rotate, or swing relative to the bag mount as well as move in the space within perimeter frame in a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A boxing bag frame assembly, comprising:
a boxing bag mount which is movable in a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction.

2 . The frame assembly of claim 1 , further comprising:
a rectangular perimeter frame being comprised of perimeter frame members being opposite and parallel first members and opposite and parallel second members connected via corner connectors, the perimeter frame being raised from the ground and supported by support posts at the corner connectors; a movable cross member which extends between the two opposing first perimeter frame members; a respective roller assembly on each end of said movable cross member, said cross member being movable along the respective first frame member allowing the cross member to be movable along the first frame members; and a boxing bag mount being comprised of a bag mount roller assembly, such that the boxing bag mount is movable along the cross member.

3 . The frame assembly of claim 2 , further comprising:
resilient biasing bands extending between the boxing bag mount and the support posts.

4 . The frame assembly of claim 1 , wherein the boxing bag mount is adapted to allow a boxing bag mounted thereto to pivot, rotate, or swing relative to the bag mount.

5 . The frame assembly of claim 2 , wherein each corner connector comprises first, second and third sockets in a 90° orientation to each other, wherein ends of two adjacent frame members are received in the first and second sockets to connect the adjacent frame members in a 90° orientation, and wherein the support post extends vertically down from the third socket.

6 . The frame assembly of claim 5 , further comprising:
respective first brace members extending between the adjacent frame members adjacent each respective corner connector; and second brace members extending between each first brace member and the adjacent support post.

7 . The frame assembly of claim 5 , further comprising:
tension cables extending between the support posts providing additional support for the frame assembly.

8 . The frame assembly of claim 2 , wherein the support posts are between 200 cm to 240 cm in height to support the perimeter frame above the ground over a user's head.

9 . The frame assembly of claim 2 , wherein each roller assembly at the end of the cross member comprises shaped plates with roller wheels at an upper portion thereof, the plates shaped to extend around opposite sides of the respective frame member with the roller wheels engaging an upper portion of the frame member.

10 . The frame assembly of claim 2 , wherein the cross member is movable in a lateral direction between the second frame members and remains substantially parallel to the second frame members.

11 . The frame assembly of claim 2 , wherein the roller assembly of the bag mount comprises shaped plates with roller wheels at an upper portion thereof, the plates shaped to extend around opposite sides of the cross member with the roller wheels engaging the upper portion of the cross member.

12 . The frame assembly of claim 11 , wherein the bag mount comprises a bag pivot attachment extending downwardly so as to pivot, rotate, or swing a boxing bag relative to the bag mount.

13 . The frame assembly of claim 2 , wherein the boxing bag mount comprises rotatable extension attachments extending at the height of the boxing bag.

14 . The frame assembly of claim 2 , further comprising: locking means for the respective roller assemblies to allow for selective locking of each roller assembly as needed.

15 . The frame assembly of claim 14 , wherein the locking assembly comprises a brake block engaging the roller wheels or directly engaging the cross member or frame members.

16 . The frame assembly of claim 2 , further comprising:
first motor drive means for driving the first roller assemblies of the cross member along the first frame members; and second drive means for driving the second roller assemblies of the bag mount along the cross member.

17 . The frame assembly of claim 16 , wherein the first and second roller assemblies can be moved via the first and second drive means to move the boxing bag within the perimeter frame into a predetermined pattern, a random pattern, or via a remote control operated by a trainer.
