Abstract
A firearm chassis comprises a body having a receiver mount for receiving a firearm receiver or barreled action, and one or more mounting rails configured to removably accept one or more firearm features, wherein the mounting rails may comprise integrated Picatinny, Weaver or ARCA Swiss style rails, such as in vertical and/or horizontal orientations at the front and/or rear of the chassis. A firearm chassis may also be uniquely configured to utilize identical front and rear actions screws for attaching the firearm receiver or a barreled action thereto.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A chassis for a firearm comprising:
a chassis body having a top, a bottom, a front end and a rear end, said body having a receiver mount for receiving a firearm receiver or barreled action, a front action screw aperture configured to receive a front action screw and a rear action screw aperture configured to receive a rear action screw, a distance from a front action screw seat of said front action screw aperture to said firearm receiver or barreled action and a distance from a rear action screw seat of said rear action screw aperture to said firearm receiver or barreled action being the same, whereby identical front and rear action screws may be utilized to couple said firearm receiver or barreled action to said chassis.
2 . The chassis in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said chassis body has a first height between said top and bottom at a location of said first action screw aperture and a second height between said top and bottom at a location of said second action screw aperture, said first and second heights being the same.
3 . The chassis in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said body is a stock.
4 . The chassis in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said distance from said front action screw seat of said front action screw aperture to said firearm receiver or barreled action and said distance from said rear action screw seat of said rear action screw aperture to said firearm receiver or barreled action are the same as a result of a different countersink distances from a bottom of said chassis to said front action screw seat and said bottom of said chassis to said rear action screw seat.
5 . The chassis in accordance with claim 1 , further comprising a front action screw and a rear action screw, said front and rear action screws being identical.
6 . A firearm comprising:
a chassis body having a top, a bottom, a front end and a rear end, said body having a receiver mount for receiving a firearm receiver or barreled action, a front action screw aperture configured to receive a front action screw and a rear action screw aperture configured to receive a rear action screw, a distance from a front action screw seat of said front action screw aperture to said firearm receiver or barreled action and a distance from a rear action screw seat of said rear action screw aperture to said firearm receiver or barreled action being the same, whereby identical front and rear action screws may be utilized to couple said firearm receiver or barreled action to said chassis; a firearm receiver or barreled action located in said receiver mount; and a front action screw located in said front action screw aperture and engaging said firearm receiver or barreled action and connecting said firearm receiver or barreled action to said chassis; and a rear action screw located in said rear action screw aperture and engaging said firearm receiver or barreled action and connecting said firearm receiver or barreled action to said chassis; wherein said front and rear action screws are identical.
7 . The firearm in accordance with claim 6 , wherein said chassis body has a first height between said top and bottom at a location of said first action screw aperture and a second height between said top and bottom at a location of said second action screw aperture, said first and second heights being the same.
8 . The firearm in accordance with claim 6 , wherein said body is a stock.
9 . The firearm in accordance with claim 6 , wherein said distance from said front action screw seat of said front action screw aperture to said firearm receiver or barreled action and said distance from said rear action screw seat of said rear action screw aperture to said firearm receiver or barreled action are the same as a result of a different countersink distances from a bottom of said chassis to said front action screw seat and said bottom of said chassis to said rear action screw seat.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
