Abstract

The present invention relates to pharmaceutical composition, comprising certain phophate binder particles having a certain particle size distribution, a process for the manufacture of the pharmaceutical composition and the use of sucroferric oxyhydroxide having a certain particle size distribution for the manufacture of a pharmaceutical composition.

A pharmaceutical composition, comprising a phosphate binder, said phosphate binder comprises particles having a particle size distribution, wherein at least 40% of the particles have a particle size within the range of 4 to 200 μm, d50 is in the range of between 30 μm to 120 μm, and wherein the phosphate binder particles comprise a mixture of iron(III)-oxyhydroxide, sucrose and one or more starches.
