Paper towel products and methods of making the same

Abstract

A two-ply rolled Through Air Dried paper towel with high total absorption and absorption rate at a low basis weight. Further, the paper towel has a unique combination of properties including an Sdr value of greater than 30, and a Vvd value of greater than 4.

We claim: 
     
         1 . A paper towel product comprising a laminate of at least two plies, the paper towel product being through air dried, rolled, and disposable, wherein a GATS total absorption of the product is between 17.0 grams water/grams of towel and 21.3 grams water/grams of towel. 
     
     
         2 . The paper towel product of  claim 1 , wherein a basis weight of the product is between 39 and 45 grams/m 2 . 
     
     
         3 . A paper towel product comprising a laminate of at least two plies, the paper towel product being through air dried, rolled, and disposable, wherein a GATS absorption rate of the product is between 5.0 and 6.6 (l/sec 0.5 ). 
     
     
         4 . The paper towel product of  claim 3 , wherein a basis weight of the product is between 39 and 45 grams/m 2 . 
     
     
         5 . A paper towel product comprising a laminate of at least two plies, the paper towel product being through air dried, rolled, and disposable, wherein CD stretch of the product is between 15.5% and 19.2%. 
     
     
         6 . The paper towel product of  claim 5 , wherein a basis weight of the product is between 39 and 45 grams/m 2 . 
     
     
         7 . A paper towel product comprising a laminate of at least two plies, the paper towel product being through air dried, rolled, and disposable, wherein the product has a measured Sdr value between 36 and 60 and a Vvd value between 5 and 14. 
     
     
         8 . The paper towel product of  claim 7 , wherein a GATS total absorption of the product is between 17.0 grams water/grams of towel and 21.3 grams water/grams of towel. 
     
     
         9 . The paper towel product of  claim 7 , wherein a GATS absorption rate of the product is between 5.0 and 6.6 (l/sec 0.5 ). 
     
     
         10 . The paper towel product of  claim 7 , wherein CD stretch of the product is between 15.5% and 19.2%. 
     
     
         11 . The paper towel product of  claim 7 , wherein a TS750 value of the product is between 19 and 32 dB V 2  rms. 
     
     
         12 . The paper towel product of  claim 7 , wherein a basis weight of the product is between 39 and 45 grams/m 2 . 
     
     
         13 . A paper towel product comprising a laminate of at least two plies, the paper towel product being through air dried, rolled, and disposable wherein a TS750 value of the product is between 19 and 32 dB V 2  rms. 
     
     
         14 . The paper towel product of  claim 13 , wherein a basis weight of the product is between 39 and 45 grams/m 2 .
