Roof vent cover

Abstract

A roof vent cover that is configured to be superposed a roof vent of a building wherein the roof vent cover of the present invention is operable to inhibit the building of wasps nests and the like through creation of an undesirable environment. The present invention includes a base plate member that is planar in manner and configured to be surroundably mounted to an aperture in a roof. The roof vent cover further includes at least one wall member extending upward from the base plate member. Superposed the at least one wall member is an upper cover member operable to inhibit rain from penetrating into the roof vent cover. Both the wall member and upper cover member are constructed from a transparent material so as to allow light to pass therethrough in order to provide an environment unlikely for a wasp or similar insect to build a nest.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A roof or sidewall vent cover that is configured to cover a roof or sidewall vent and inhibit development of insect nests being built therein wherein the roof vent cover comprises:
 a base plate member, said base plate member being planar in manner, said base plate member having an upper surface, said base plate member being square in shape;   at least one wall member, said at least one wall member being secured to said base plate member, said at least one wall member extending upward from said upper surface of said base plate member, said at least one wall member being manufactured from a transparent material; and   an upper cover member, said upper cover member being secured to said at least one wall member distal to said base plate member, said upper cover member configure to inhibit moisture from entering the roof vent cover, said upper cover member being manufactured from a transparent material.   
     
     
         2 . The roof vent cover as recited in  claim 1 , wherein light penetrating the upper cover member provides an environment that inhibits insect nest development. 
     
     
         3 . The roof vent cover as recited in  claim 2 , wherein the roof vent cover is provided in alternate sizes. 
     
     
         4 . The roof vent cover as recited in  claim 3 , wherein the upper cover member extends outwardly beyond the at least one wall in all directions. 
     
     
         5 . The roof vent cover as recited in  claim 4 , wherein the roof vent of the present invention is provided in alternate shapes.
