Hair Waving Cap Assembly And Method Of Use
Abstract
A hair waving cap assembly for inducing waves in hair includes a cap, which can be positioned on a head of a user so that the cap substantially covers a scalp of the user. The cap is resiliently stretchable and is sized smaller than the head of the user. The cap can be stretched for insertion of the head of the user thereinto, after which the cap rebounds so that the cap is removably engaged to the head of the user. A set of protuberances is engaged to an inner surface of the cap and extends therefrom. Each protuberance exerts pressure upon hair positioned between the protuberance and the scalp of the user to induce a wave in the hair.

1 . A hair waving cap assembly comprising:
a cap configured to be positioned on a head of a user, such that the cap substantially covers a scalp of the user, the cap being resiliently stretchable, the cap being sized smaller than the head of the user, wherein the cap is configured to be stretched for insertion of the head of the user thereinto, wherein the cap is configured for rebounding such that the cap is removably engaged to the head of the user; and a set of protuberances engaged to an inner surface of the cap and extending therefrom, wherein each protuberance is configured for exerting pressure upon hair positioned between the protuberance and the scalp of the user for inducing a wave in the hair.
2 . The hair waving cap assembly of claim 1 , wherein the set of protuberances and the cap comprise one or more of polyester, nylon, and silk.
3 . The hair waving cap assembly of claim 2 , wherein the set of protuberances and the cap comprise polyester and one or more of nylon and silk.
4 . The hair waving cap assembly of claim 1 , wherein the set of protuberances comprises a protuberance extending spirally from proximate to a centerpoint of an upper limit of the cap to proximate to a circumference of a lower limit of the cap.
5 . The hair waving cap assembly of claim 1 , further including a fastener engaged to the cap proximate to a lower limit thereof, the fastener being configured for selectively engaging the head of the user, such that the cap is fixedly positioned upon the head of the user.

The hair waving cap assembly of claim 5 , wherein the fastener comprises a pair of straps, the pair of straps being positioned on the cap such that the pair of straps extends from a back of the cap, wherein each strap is configured for grasping in a respective hand of the user, positioning the user for pulling upon the straps for decreasing a circumference of the lower limit and for tightening the cap to the head of the user, such that the user is positioned for knotting the straps for fixedly positioning the cap upon the head of the user.

The hair waving cap assembly of claim 5 , wherein the fastener comprises a pair of straps, the pair of straps being positioned on the cap such that the straps of the pair of straps extend singly from opposed sides of the cap, wherein each strap is configured for grasping in a respective hand of the user, positioning the user for pulling upon the straps for tightening the cap to the head of the user, such that the user is positioned for knotting the straps for fixedly positioning the cap upon the head of the user.
8 . A method of inducing a wave in hair, the method comprising the steps of:
providing a cap sized smaller than a head of a user, the cap being resiliently stretchable, the cap having a set of protuberances engaged to an inner surface thereof and extending therefrom; stretching the cap over the head of the user, such that the cap substantially covers a scalp of the user; allowing the cap to rebound, such that the cap is removably engaged to the head of the user with each protuberance positioned for exerting pressure upon hair positioned between the protuberance and the scalp of the user; allowing the cap to remain upon the head of the user for a length of time sufficient for inducing a wave in the hair; and removing the cap from the head of the user.
9 . The method of claim 8 , further including:
a pair of straps engaged to the cap proximate to a lower limit thereof and extending singly from opposed sides of the cap; and the method comprising the additional steps of:
grasping each strap in a respective hand of the user,
pulling upon the straps for tightening the cap to the head of the user, knotting the straps for fixedly positioning the cap upon the head of the user, and
unknotting the straps for removing the cap from the head of the user.
10 . The method of claim 8 , further including:
a pair of straps engaged to the cap proximate to a lower limit thereof and extending from a back of the cap; and the method comprising the additional steps of:
grasping each strap in a respective hand of the user,
pulling upon the straps for tightening the cap to the head of the user,
knotting the straps for fixedly positioning the cap upon the head of the user, and
unknotting the straps for removing the cap from the head of the user.
11 . A hair waving cap assembly comprising:
a cap configured to be positioned on a head of a user, such that the cap substantially covers a scalp of the user, the cap being resiliently stretchable, the cap being sized smaller than the head of the user, wherein the cap is configured to be stretched for insertion of the head of the user thereinto, wherein the cap is configured for rebounding such that the cap is removably engaged to the head of the user; a set of protuberances engaged to an inner surface of the cap and extending therefrom, wherein each protuberance is configured for exerting pressure upon hair positioned between the protuberance and the scalp of the user for inducing a wave in the hair, the set of protuberances and the cap comprising one or more of polyester, nylon, and silk, the set of protuberances and the cap comprising polyester and one or more of nylon and silk, the set of protuberances comprising a protuberance extending spirally from proximate to a centerpoint of an upper limit of the cap to proximate to a circumference of a lower limit of the cap; and a fastener engaged to the cap proximate to the lower limit, the fastener being configured for selectively engaging the head of the user, such that the cap is fixedly positioned upon the head of the user, the fastener comprising a pair of straps, the pair of straps being positioned on the cap such that:
the pair of straps extends from a back of the cap, wherein each strap is configured for grasping in a respective hand of the user, positioning the user for pulling upon the straps for decreasing the circumference of the lower limit and for tightening the cap to the head of the user, such that the user is positioned for knotting the straps for fixedly positioning the cap upon the head of the user, or
