Mobile terminal capable of setting cover sheet and header of fax, image forming apparatus, methods of controlling mobile terminal and image forming apparatus, communication system, and storage medium

Abstract

A mobile terminal capable of setting a cover sheet and a header of a fax document and causing an image forming apparatus to transmit the fax document. Cover data representative of a cover sheet is created according to the settings of a cover sheet of a fax document, and header data representative of a header is created according to the settings of a header of the fax document. Upon receipt of an instruction for transmitting a fax document from the user, the mobile terminal transmits an instruction to the image forming apparatus for reading an original and transmitting the fax document, together with transmission destination information indicative of a transmission destination to which the fax document is to be transmitted and at least one of the cover data and the header data.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A destination setting method comprising:
 receiving a destination in accordance with a user's instruction to select the destination from an address book used in a first application stored in a mobile terminal; and   transmitting, by executing a second application stored in the mobile terminal, via a wireless communication, the destination to a document reading apparatus,   wherein the destination is selected from address book used in the first application executed by the mobile terminal to transmit an e-mail.   
     
     
         2 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising,
 receiving, by executing the second application, a reading setting in accordance with a user's instruction;   transmitting the reading setting in addition to the destination; and   displaying at least one the received reading setting and at least one the received destination on a predetermined screen.   
     
     
         3 . The method according to  claim 2 ,
 wherein the transmitted reading setting is a setting for reading a document to generate image data by the document reading apparatus, and   wherein the transmitted destination is a destination used for transmitting, by the document reading apparatus, the generated image data by the e-mail.   
     
     
         4 . The method according to  claim 2 ,
 wherein a character string, which indicates a communication method with which the document reading apparatus transmits the image data, is displayed on the predetermined screen.   
     
     
         5 . The method according to  claim 2 ,
 wherein the received reading setting is displayed in the lower part of the received destination in a vertical direction, in the predetermined screen.   
     
     
         6 . The method according to  claim 2 ,
 wherein an object which indicates a strength of a radio wave is displayed in the predetermined screen.   
     
     
         7 . The method according to  claim 2 ,
 wherein the reading setting is resolution of image data.   
     
     
         8 . The method according to  claim 2 ,
 wherein an object, which indicates a communication method with which the document reading apparatus transmits the image data, is displayed on the predetermined screen.   
     
     
         9 . The method according to  claim 2 , further comprising:
 displaying a selection screen; and   receiving user's instruction to select a function from a plurality of functions of the document reading apparatus via the selection screen,   wherein the predetermined screen is displayed based on the selection of a facsimile function.   
     
     
         10 . The method according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein an e-mail address, telephone number and a name of a destination are registered in the address book.   
     
     
         11 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising,
 receiving, by executing the second application, a reading setting in accordance with a user's instruction;   transmitting the reading setting in addition to the destination; and   displaying at least one the received reading setting on a display of the mobile terminal in a state that at least one the received destination is display on the display of the mobile terminal.   
     
     
         12 . The method according to  claim 11 ,
 wherein the transmitted reading setting is a setting for reading a document and generating image data by the document reading apparatus, and   wherein the transmitted destination is a destination for transmitting, by the document reading apparatus, the image data by the e-mail.   
     
     
         13 . The method according to  claim 11 ,
 wherein a character string, which indicates a communication method with which the document reading apparatus transmits the image data, is displayed on the display in a state that at least one the received destination and at least one received reading setting is displayed on the display of the mobile terminal.   
     
     
         14 . The method according to  claim 11 ,
 wherein the received reading setting is displayed in the lower part of the received destination in a vertical direction, on the display of the mobile terminal.   
     
     
         15 . The method according to  claim 11 ,
 wherein an object which indicates a strength of a radio wave is displayed on the display of the mobile terminal in a state that at least one the received destination and at least one received reading setting is displayed on the display of the mobile terminal.   
     
     
         16 . The method according to  claim 11 ,
 wherein an object, which indicates a communication method with which the document reading apparatus transmits the image data, is displayed on the display of the mobile terminal in a state that at least one the received destination and at least one received reading setting are displayed on the display of the mobile terminal.   
     
     
         17 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising
 receiving a connection information from the document reading apparatus; and   connecting the mobile terminal with the document reading apparatus via the wireless communication using the received connection information.   
     
     
         18 . The method according to  claim 17 ,
 wherein the connection information is an IP address of the document reading apparatus received via a short range wireless communication.   
     
     
         19 . A mobile terminal comprising:
 a controller configured to receive a destination in accordance with a user's instruction to select the destination from an address book used in a first application stored in a mobile terminal; and   a transmitter configured to transmit, by executing a second application stored in the mobile terminal by the controller, via a wireless communication, the destination to a document reading apparatus,   wherein the destination is selected from address book used in the first application executed by the mobile terminal to transmit an e-mail.
