Abstract
Security of network traffic may be increased by utilizing a mutable password to encrypt and decrypt content stored inside an executable utilizing a mutable password (e.g., where a password changes based on an equation when the executable is run). For example, the present password may be associated with a variable, the variable may be modified when the executable is run using the present password, and a subsequent password may be generated based on the modified variable.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed:
1 . A method, comprising:
receiving, by a processing system including a processor, a first password; decrypting, by the processing system, an executable using the first password as a decryption key; running, by the processing system, the executable, wherein the running the executable comprises modifying a variable stored in the executable to create a modified variable, generating a second password based on the modified variable using a mathematical equation, and storing the first password, the mathematical equation, the modified variable, and the second password in a ledger in the executable; and encrypting, by the processing system, the executable using the second password as an encryption key.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising logging, by the processing system, at least one detail associated with running the executable inside the executable.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the mathematical equation comprises a complex polynomial equation.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the variable is modified based on a complex polynomial equation.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving, by the processing system, an incorrect password to run the executable; and deleting, by the processing system, content within the executable based on the receiving of the incorrect password.
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising storing, by the processing system, a copy of the ledger at an encryption manager separately from the executable.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the decrypting comprises:
transmitting, by the processing system, the first password to a decryption manager; receiving, by the processing system, from the decryption manager, the decryption key based on the first password; and decrypting, by the processing system based on the decryption key, content stored inside the executable.
8 . A system comprising:
a processor associated with a primary cell site; and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having stored thereon executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to perform operations comprising: receiving a first password; decrypting an executable using the first password as a decryption key; running the executable, wherein the running the executable comprises modifying a variable stored in the executable to create a modified variable, generating a second password based on the modified variable using a mathematical equation, and storing the first password, the mathematical equation, the modified variable, and the second password in a ledger in the executable; and encrypting the executable using the second password as an encryption key.
9 . The system of claim 8 , the operations further comprising logging at least one detail associated with running the executable inside the executable.
10 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the mathematical equation comprises a complex polynomial equation.
11 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the variable is modified based on a complex polynomial equation.
12 . The system of claim 8 , the operations further comprising:
receiving an incorrect password to run the executable; and deleting at least a portion of the executable based on receipt of the incorrect password.
13 . The system of claim 8 , the operations further comprising storing a copy of the ledger at an encryption manager separately from the executable.
14 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the decrypting comprises:
transmitting the first password to a decryption manager; receiving, from the decryption manager, the decryption key based on the first password; and decrypting, based on the decryption key, content stored inside the executable.
15 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
receiving, by the processing system, a first password; decrypting, by the processing system, an executable using the first password as a decryption key; running, by the processing system, the executable, wherein the running the executable comprises modifying a variable stored in the executable to create a modified variable, generating a second password based on the modified variable using a mathematical equation, and storing the first password, the mathematical equation, the modified variable, and the second password in a ledger in the executable; and encrypting, by the processing system, the executable using the second password as an encryption key.
16 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprising logging at least one detail associated with running the executable inside the executable.
17 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the mathematical equation is a complex polynomial equation.
18 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , the operations further comprising:
receiving an incorrect password to run the executable; and deleting at least a portion of the executable based on receipt of the incorrect password.
19 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprising storing a copy of the ledger at an encryption manager separately from the executable.
20 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the decrypting comprises:
transmitting the first password to a decryption manager; receiving, from the decryption manager, the decryption key based on the first password; and decrypting, based on the decryption key, content stored inside the executable.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
