Abstract

Systems and methods for providing a personalized visual display of multiple products are provided. A described method includes receiving product information for a set of multiple products and user information for a particular user or user device and selecting a plurality of the multiple products estimated to be most relevant to the particular user or user device based on the product information for the set of multiple products and the user information for the particular user or user device. The method further includes generating a personalized visual display of the selected products including product images for multiple of the selected products. All of the products in the personalized visual display may be associated with the same content provider. The method further includes causing the personalized visual display to be presented via the user device.

What is claimed is:

         1 . A method, comprising:
sending, from a client device to a server remote from the client device, a request for content to present to a user of the client device; receiving, at the client device from the server, a content item object corresponding to a plurality of data objects in response to the request for content, wherein the content item object comprises a representative image that is distinct from and representative of a plurality of data objects defined by a content provider and wherein each of the plurality of data objects comprise an image; displaying, in a display of the client device, an application simultaneously presenting (i) the content item object in a content object slot and (ii) other resource content external to the content object slot; detecting, by the client device, a first interaction by the user with the image of the content item object displayed in the content object slot of the application; receiving, at the client device from the server, an indication of a plurality of additional data objects from the plurality of data objects based on a ranking of each data object of the plurality of data objects, wherein the indication includes a position within an interactive customized graphical user interface element at which to display each additional data object of the plurality of additional data objects based upon the ranking of such additional data object; and displaying, in an area of the display of the client device, the interactive customized graphical user interface element, wherein the interactive customized graphical user interface element (i) is configured to display the image included in each additional data object of the plurality of additional data objects at the position determined for the additional data object and (ii) includes instructions to cause the client device to navigate to an information resource of the content provider in response to a second interaction by the user with the interactive customized graphical user interface element.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the instructions of the interactive customized graphical user interface element to cause the client device to navigate to the information resource of the content provider comprise a link to a webpage through which a product associated with at least one of additional data objects can be purchased.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the interactive customized graphical user interface element is configured to display the image included in each additional data object of the plurality of additional data objects at a position determined based on a ranking for the data object and a determined image size.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
sending, from the client device to the server, a notification of the first interaction by the user with the image of the content item object, wherein sending the notification of the first interaction causes the server to select the plurality of additional data objects from the plurality of data objects based on the ranking of each data object of the plurality of data objects.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein sending the notification of the first interaction causes the server to select the plurality of additional data objects by:
ranking each additional data object of the plurality of additional data objects based upon a respective relevancy score assigned to the additional data object that indicates a relevance of the additional data object to the client device; and constructing the interactive customized graphical user interface element for the plurality of additional data objects using client device information and the rank of each additional data object of the plurality of additional data objects.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the indication of the plurality of additional data objects includes an arrangement of the plurality of additional data objects, wherein at least one of the plurality of additional data objects are modified by at least one of resizing, cropping, adding a border, padding, stretching, or shrinking the at least one of the plurality of additional data objects.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first interaction comprises an interaction type of a hover or a selection detected by the application.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the content item object comprises an inline frame element.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the area of the display of the client device in which the interactive customized graphical user interface element is displayed comprises a modal window.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the interactive customized graphical user interface element includes a video content item.

11 . A tangible, non-transitory computer-readable medium storing executable instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a client device, cause the client device to:
send, to a server remote from the client device, a request for content to present to a user of the client device; receive, from the server, a content item object corresponding to a plurality of data objects in response to the request for content, wherein the content item object comprises a representative image that is distinct from and representative of a plurality of data objects defined by a content provider and wherein each of the plurality of data objects comprise an image; display an application in a display of the client device to simultaneously present (i) the content item object in a content object slot and (ii) other resource content external to the content object slot; detect a first interaction by the user with the image of the content item object displayed in the content object slot of the application; receive, from the server, an indication of a plurality of additional data objects from the plurality of data objects based on a ranking of each data object of the plurality of data objects, wherein the indication includes a position within an interactive customized graphical user interface element at which to display each additional data object of the plurality of additional data objects based upon the ranking of such additional data object; and display the interactive customized graphical user interface element in an area of the display, wherein the interactive customized graphical user interface element (i) is configured to display the image included in each additional data object of the plurality of additional data objects at the position determined for the additional data object and (ii) includes instructions to cause the client device to navigate to an information resource of the content provider in response to a second interaction by the user with the interactive customized graphical user interface element.

12 . The tangible, non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the instructions of the interactive customized graphical user interface element to cause the client device to navigate to the information resource of the content provider comprise a link to a webpage through which a product associated with at least one of additional data objects can be purchased.

13 . The tangible, non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the interactive customized graphical user interface element is configured to display the image included in each additional data object of the plurality of additional data objects at a position determined based on a ranking for the data object and a determined image size.

14 . The tangible, non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the executable instructions further cause the client device to:
send, to the server, a notification of the first interaction by the user with the image of the content item object, wherein sending the notification of the first interaction causes the server to select the plurality of additional data objects from the plurality of data objects based on the ranking of each data object of the plurality of data objects.

15 . The tangible, non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein sending the notification of the first interaction causes the server to select the plurality of additional data objects by:
ranking each additional data object of the plurality of additional data objects based upon a respective relevancy score assigned to the additional data object that indicates a relevance of the additional data object to the client device; and constructing the interactive customized graphical user interface element for the plurality of additional data objects using client device information and the rank of each additional data object of the plurality of additional data objects.

16 . The tangible, non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the indication of the plurality of additional data objects includes an arrangement of the plurality of additional data objects, wherein at least one of the plurality of additional data objects are modified by at least one of resizing, cropping, adding a border, padding, stretching, or shrinking the at least one of the plurality of additional data objects.

17 . The tangible, non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the first interaction comprises an interaction type of a hover or a selection detected by the application.
