Abstract

A heel pad for placement within a shoe and a method of use. The heel pad includes a pliable body, a filler element contained within the pliable body, and a malleable member fastened within the pliable body and extending along at least part of a length of the pliable body. In use, the heel pad is positioned in a heel section of the shoe. A longitudinal end of the heel pad is folded along an upper edge of the heel section of the shoe. The folded longitudinal end of the heel pad is affixed to an outer surface of the heel section of the shoe.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A heel pad configured for placement within a shoe that includes a heel section, the heel pad comprising:
a pliable body having a first end and a second end; and a malleable member arranged within the pliable body extending at least in part, along both a length and a width of the pliable body, and configured, in an assembled state, to extend over the heel section of the shoe with the malleable member configured to aid in securing the heel pad to the heel section of the shoe.

2 . The heel pad of claim 1 , wherein at most two malleable members are arranged within the pliable body.

3 . The heel pad of claim 2 , wherein the malleable members are spaced from each other and extend along a same direction.

4 . The heel pad of claim 1 , wherein the pliable body includes a foldable portion that is located between the first end and second end of the pliable body.

5 . The heel pad of claim 1 , wherein the malleable member extends from the second end of the pliable body towards the first end and at least a length between the second end and the foldable portion.

6 . The heel pad of claim 1 , wherein the malleable member is fixed within the pliable body by at least one of stitching or adhesive.

7 . The heel pad of claim 1 , wherein the malleable member extends longitudinally about the pliable body.

8 . The heel pad of claim 1 , wherein the pliable body is comprised of a first layer and a second layer that are fixed to each other.

9 . The heel pad of claim 1 , wherein the pliable body includes a pad portion.

10 . The heel pad of claim 1 , wherein the pliable body is constructed from at least one of fabric or leather.

11 . The heel pad of claim 1 , wherein the heel pad is attached to the shoe by magnetic fasteners.

12 . The heel pad of claim 1 , wherein the heel pad further contains fastening means selected from the group consisting of tacking, riveting, button fasteners, adhesive, adhesive tape, hook and loop fastener, and sewing configured to attach the heel pad to the heel section of the shoe.

13 . The heel pad of claim 1 , further comprising a heel pad that is integrally formed within the heel section of the shoe.

14 . A method of inserting a heel pad within a shoe that includes a heel section, comprising the steps of:
providing a pliable body having a first end and a second end and a malleable member arranged within the pliable body extending at least in part, along both a length and width of the pliable body, and configured, in an assembled state, to extend over the heel section of the shoe with the malleable member configured to aid in securing the heel pad to the heel section of the shoe; arranging the pliable body within an inner surface of the heel section of the shoe; folding the second end of the pliable body over an upper edge of the heel section of the shoe such that the heel pad extends over the heel section of the shoe; and affixing the heel pad within the shoe.
