Abstract

A method of enhancing a network-based publication system with curator lists is disclosed. Information pertaining to an item is received from a submitter of a listing of the item on a network-based publication system. Metadata pertaining to the information about the item is received from a curator of the information pertaining to the item. A presentation of the information on a curator list is controlled based on the metadata.

What is claimed is:

         1 . A method comprising:
displaying, via a user interface, a grid of images, each image corresponding to an item on a list of curated items; displaying, via the user interface and with the grid of images, information generated based on the list of curated items; receiving a user input in relation to a portion of the user interface, the portion comprising an image of the grid of images or the information generated based on the list of curated items; presenting an inline editing tool at the portion of the user interface; receiving additional user input via the inline editing tool; and updating the portion of the user interface and displaying other portions of the user interface without refreshing the other portions while receiving the additional user input.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information generated based on the list of curated items includes a title associated with the list of curated items, the user input is received in relation to the title, and the additional user input received via the inline editing tool updates the title.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information generated based on the list of curated items includes a description of the list of curated items, the user input is received in relation to the description, and the additional user input received via the inline editing tool updates the description.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the user input is received in relation to an image of the grid of images, the inline editing tool is a pencil tool, and the additional user input received associates a note with a corresponding item of the image.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the user input is received in relation to an image of the grid of images, the inline editing tool is a deletion tool, and the additional user input received deletes a corresponding item of the image from the list of curated items.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the user input is received in relation to an image of the grid of images, the inline editing tool is a panning tool, and the additional user input received repositions the image in a frame for the image.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the user input is received in relation to an image of the grid of images, the inline editing tool is a zooming tool, and the additional user input received specifies a size of the image in a frame for the image.

8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the size of the image in the frame is specified as a percentage of a maximum size of the image.

9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising displaying an icon representative of the inline editing tool responsive to a hover input over the portion of the user interface.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information generated based on the list of curated items includes at least one of:
a title associated with the list of curated items; a description of the list of curated items; highlighting or filtering options that are selectable to highlight or filter one or more images in the grid of images; or statistics for the list of curated items.

         11 . A system comprising:
one or more processors; and a management module implemented by the one or more processors to: display, via a user interface, a grid of images, each image corresponding to an item on a list of curated items; display, via the user interface and with the grid of images, information generated based on the list of curated items; receive a user input in relation to a portion of the user interface, the portion comprising an image of the grid of images or the information generated based on the list of curated items; present an inline editing tool at the portion of the user interface; receive additional user input via the inline editing tool; and update the portion of the user interface and display other portions of the user interface without refreshing the other portions while receiving the additional user input.

12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the information generated based on the list of curated items includes a title associated with the list of curated items, the user input is received in relation to the title, and the additional user input received via the inline editing tool updates the title.

13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the information generated based on the list of curated items includes a description of the list of curated items, the user input is received in relation to the description, and the additional user input received via the inline editing tool updates the description.

14 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the user input is received in relation to an image of the grid of images, the inline editing tool is a pencil tool, and the additional user input received associates a note with a corresponding item of the image.

15 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the user input is received in relation to an image of the grid of images, the inline editing tool is a deletion tool, and the additional user input received deletes a corresponding item of the image from the list of curated items.

16 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the user input is received in relation to an image of the grid of images, the inline editing tool is a panning tool, and the additional user input received repositions the image in a frame for the image.

17 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the user input is received in relation to an image of the grid of images, the inline editing tool is a zooming tool, and the additional user input received specifies a size of the image in a frame for the image.

18 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium embodying a set of instructions that, when executed by a processor of a machine, causes the machine to perform operations comprising:
displaying, via a user interface, a grid of images, each image corresponding to an item on a list of curated items; displaying, via the user interface and with the grid of images, information generated based on the list of curated items; receiving a user input in relation to a portion of the user interface, the portion comprising an image of the grid of images or the information generated based on the list of curated items; presenting an inline editing tool at the portion of the user interface; receiving additional user input via the inline editing tool; and updating the portion of the user interface and displaying other portions of the user interface without refreshing the other portions while receiving the additional user input.

19 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 18 , wherein the operations further comprise displaying an icon representative of the inline editing tool responsive to a hover input over the portion of the user interface.
