Log file comparison apparatus and method for providing an updated medical best practice recommendation based on user entry of new medical observation information for a patient
Abstract
Provided are a computer program product, system, and method for determining real-time changes to content entered into a user interface to generate results for the content. In response to determining that entry of first content in a user input field rendered in a user interface is completed, the first content is provided to a classification program to classify into a first machine classification to provide to a rules engine to determine a first machine determined proposition. The first machine determined proposition is rendered in the user interface. A determination is made of second content in the user input field from the user that differs from the first content. The second content is provided to the classification program to classify into a second machine classification to provide to the rules engine to determine a second machine determined proposition rendered in the user interface with the second content.

23 . A computer program product for providing an updated medical best practice recommendation subsequent to a user entering new medical observation information in a user interface, the computer program product comprising a computer readable storage medium having computer readable program code thereon that is executable to perform operations, the operations comprising:
receiving first medical observation information of a patient entered by a user in a user interface; storing the received first medical observation information in a log file; providing the received first medical observation information for processing in order to determine a medical best practice recommendation associated with the first medical observation information; rendering, simultaneously with the first medical observation information, the determined medical best practice recommendation; receiving second medical observation information of a patient entered by a user in the user interface; storing the received second medical observation information in the log file; comparing first data associated with the first medication observation information to second data associated with the second medical observation information; and when the second data associated with the second medical observation information is different from the first data associated with the first medical observation information:
providing the received second medical observation information for processing in order to determine an updated medical best practice recommendation associated with the second medical observation information; and
rendering, simultaneously with the second medical observation information, the determined updated medical best practice recommendation.
24 . The computer program product of claim 23 , wherein:
the first data associated with the first medical observation information comprises a first hash code calculated based on the first medical observation information; the second data associated with the second medical observation information comprises a second hash code calculated based on the first medical observation information; and the comparing comprises comparing the second hash code to the first hash code.
25 . The computer program product of claim 23 , wherein the operations further comprise triggering the comparing in response to the user entering the second medical observation information into the user interface.
26 . The computer program product of claim 23 , wherein the operations further comprise triggering the comparing on a periodic basis after passage of a time period.
27 . The computer program product of claim 23 , wherein the operations further comprise triggering the comparing in response to user selection of a user interface element.
28 . The computer program product of claim 23 , wherein the operations further comprise storing the medical best practice recommendation and the updated medical best practice recommendation in the log file.
29 . Apparatus for providing an updated medical best practice recommendation subsequent to a user entering new medical observation information in a user interface, comprising:
at least one processor; and at least one computer readable storage medium, wherein the at least one computer readable storage medium comprises computer program instructions executable by the at least one processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:
receiving first medical observation information of a patient entered by a user in a user interface;
storing the received first medical observation information in a log file;
providing the received first medical observation information for processing in order to determine a medical best practice recommendation associated with the first medical observation information;
rendering, simultaneously with the first medical observation information, the determined medical best practice recommendation;
receiving second medical observation information of a patient entered by a user in the user interface;
storing the received second medical observation information in the log file;
comparing first data associated with the first medication observation information to second data associated with the second medical observation information; and
when the second data associated with the second medical observation information is different from the first data associated with the first medical observation information:
providing the received second medical observation information for processing in order to determine an updated medical best practice recommendation associated with the second medical observation information; and
rendering, simultaneously with the second medical observation information, the determined updated medical best practice recommendation.
30 . The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein:
the first data associated with the first medical observation information comprises a first hash code calculated based on the first medical observation information; the second data associated with the second medical observation information comprises a second hash code calculated based on the first medical observation information; and the comparing comprises comparing the second hash code to the first hash code.
31 . The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the operations further comprise triggering the comparing in response to the user entering the second medical observation information into the user interface.
32 . The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the operations further comprise triggering the comparing on a periodic basis after passage of a time period.
33 . The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the operations further comprise triggering the comparing in response to user selection of a user interface element.
34 . The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the operations further comprise storing the medical best practice recommendation and the updated medical best practice recommendation in the log file.
35 . A computer implemented method for providing an updated medical best practice recommendation subsequent to a user entering new medical observation information in a user interface, comprising performing with one or more computers:
receiving first medical observation information of a patient entered by a user in a user interface; storing the received first medical observation information in a log file; providing the received first medical observation information for processing in order to determine a medical best practice recommendation associated with the first medical observation information; rendering, simultaneously with the first medical observation information, the determined medical best practice recommendation; receiving second medical observation information of a patient entered by a user in the user interface; storing the received second medical observation information in the log file; comparing first data associated with the first medication observation information to second data associated with the second medical observation information; and when the second data associated with the second medical observation information is different from the first data associated with the first medical observation information:
providing the received second medical observation information for processing in order to determine an updated medical best practice recommendation associated with the second medical observation information; and
rendering, simultaneously with the second medical observation information, the determined updated medical best practice recommendation.
36 . The computer implemented method of claim 35 , wherein:
the first data associated with the first medical observation information comprises a first hash code calculated based on the first medical observation information; the second data associated with the second medical observation information comprises a second hash code calculated based on the first medical observation information; and the comparing comprises comparing the second hash code to the first hash code.
37 . The computer implemented method of claim 35 , further comprising performing with the one or more computers triggering the comparing in response to the user entering the second medical observation information into the user interface.
