Abstract
Systems and methods for managing device controls are disclosed. One method can comprise determining an orientation of a controller and comparing the orientation of the controller and an activation orientation. If the orientation of the controller substantially matches the activation orientation, a control relationship between the controller and the user device may be automatically activated, and if the orientation of the controller does not substantially match the activation orientation, control options to a user of the controller.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method comprising:
determining a direction of orientation of a controller; presenting, based on the direction of orientation not satisfying an activation orientation of a first device, control options for a plurality of devices; and activating a control relationship between the controller and a second device of the plurality of devices.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein activating the control relationship between the controller and the second device comprises configuring the controller to control the second device.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the direction of orientation of the controller comprises receiving information relating to the direction of orientation from an orientation element.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the direction of orientation comprises at least one of location of the controller, altitude of the controller, relative position of the controller, absolute position of the controller, or proximity of the controller to at least one of the plurality of devices.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining the plurality of devices based on the direction of orientation of the controller.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of devices comprises the first device.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the direction of orientation not satisfying the activation orientation of the first device comprises determining that the direction of orientation does not match the activation orientation of the second device.
8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving a selection to control the second device, wherein activating the control relationship between the controller and the second device comprises activating the control relationship between the controller and the second device based on receiving the selection to control the second device.
9 . An apparatus comprising:
one or more processors; and a memory comprising processor-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to:
determine a direction of orientation of a controller;
present, based on the second direction of orientation not satisfying an activation orientation of a first device, control options for a plurality of devices; and
activate a control relationship between the controller and a second device of the plurality of devices.
10 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the processor-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to activate the control relationship between the controller and the second device further cause the apparatus to configure the controller to control the second device.
11 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the processor-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to determine the direction of orientation of the controller further cause the apparatus to receive, from an orientation element, information relating to the direction of orientation.
12 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the direction of orientation comprises at least one of location of the controller, altitude of the controller, relative position of the controller, absolute position of the controller, or proximity of the controller to at least one of the plurality of devices.
13 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the processor-executable instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the apparatus to determine the plurality of devices based on the direction of orientation of the controller.
14 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of devices comprises the first device.
15 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the processor-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to determine the direction of orientation does not satisfy the activation orientation of the first device further cause the apparatus to determine that the direction of orientation does not match the activation orientation of the second device.
16 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the processor-executable instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the apparatus to receive a selection to control the second device.
17 . A method comprising:
receiving, from a controller, a direction of orientation of the controller; and causing, based on the direction of orientation not satisfying an activation orientation of a first device, display of control options for at least one device of a plurality of devices.
18 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising determining, based on the direction of orientation of the controller, the plurality of devices.
19 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising:
receiving a selection of a control option associated with the at least one device of the plurality of devices; and sending, to the controller, control information associated with the at least one device and configured to activate a control relationship between the controller and the at least one device.
20 . The method of claim 17 , wherein determining the direction of orientation of the controller does not satisfy an activation orientation of the first device comprises comparing the orientation of the controller to the activation orientation of the first device.
21 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the plurality of devices comprises the first device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
