Abstract
An aspiration system includes a pump and a control system in communication with the pump. The control system includes a microcontroller, an antenna configured to receive a signal, and a pump control board in communication with the microcontroller. The antenna is in communication with the microcontroller. Upon receiving the signal, the pump control board operates the pump to create negative pressure according to the signal.

1 . A system for remotely controlling an aspiration pattern, the system comprising:
a programming unit comprising:
a user interface configured to allow a user to select a suction pattern from a plurality of preconfigured suction patterns and to allow a user to create a custom suction pattern, each said suction pattern including a pattern that includes at least two different suction intensity levels, at least one of the plurality of preconfigured suction patterns including a pattern that includes three different suction intensity levels; and
a transmitter configured to emit signals,
wherein the programming unit comprises a tablet computer, and
wherein the transmitter comprises a Bluetooth device; and an automated negative suction device comprising a pump and power electronics configured to control the automated negative suction device, the power electronics including:
a receiver configured to receive signals from the programming unit; and
circuitry configured to send a signal to the automated negative suction device to create variable suction according to the selected suction pattern,
