Micro digital signage hardware integration
Abstract
A system to display information using a display shelf of a retailer may include a first display configured to be attached to a first edge portion of the display shelf and to display information related to a first product. A second display may be configured to be attached to a second edge portion of the display shelf and to display information related to a second product. The first display and the second display can be configured to have a height similar to a height of the first and the second edge portion of the shelf. The first display and the second display may also be configured to display information related to a third product as if the first display is continuously connected to the second display as an extended display.

31 . The digital signage system of claim 29 , wherein the shelf is a first shelf, and the second touch-sensitive display is to mount to a second shelf of the shelving to cover at least a portion of a front edge of the second shelf.
32 . The digital signage system of claim 29 , further including a connector to connect the first touch-sensitive display to the front edge of the shelf.
33 . The digital signage system of claim 28 , further including an optical sensor.
34 . The digital signage system of claim 33 , wherein the optical sensor is implemented with a camera.
35 . The digital signage system of claim 33 , further including a network interface.
36 . The digital signage system of claim 35 , wherein the data is first data, and the instructions are to cause the processor circuitry to report second data to a remote server via the network interface, the second data based on an output of the optical sensor.
37 . The digital signage system of claim 36 , wherein the second data includes video analytics.
38 . The digital signage system of claim 28 , further including a scanner.
39 . The digital signage system of claim 28 , wherein the processor circuitry is to:
cause the first content to be displayed on the first touch-sensitive display and cause the second content to be displayed on the second touch-sensitive display when the first touch-sensitive display and the second touch-sensitive display are to display content independently, the second content different from the first content; and cause third content to be displayed jointly on the first touch-sensitive display and the second touch-sensitive display when the first touch-sensitive display and the second touch-sensitive display are to display content jointly.
40 . A digital signage system comprising:
a first touch-sensitive display to mount to shelving, the first touch-sensitive display having a first interface; and a second touch-sensitive display to mount to the shelving, the second touch-sensitive display having a second interface, the second interface to couple with the first interface, the first touch-sensitive display and the second touch-sensitive display configurable to display content independently and configurable to display content jointly, the second touch-sensitive display to obtain the content from the first interface via the second interface.
41 . The digital signage system of claim 40 , wherein the first touch-sensitive display is to mount to a shelf of the shelving to cover at least a portion of a front edge of the shelf.
42 . The digital signage system of claim 41 , wherein the at least the portion of the shelf is a first portion of the shelf, and the second touch-sensitive display is to cover a second portion of the front edge of the shelf.
43 . The digital signage system of claim 41 , wherein the shelf is a first shelf, and the second touch-sensitive display is to mount to a second shelf of the shelving to cover at least a portion of a front edge of the second shelf.
44 . The digital signage system of claim 41 , further including a connector to connect the first touch-sensitive display to the front edge of the shelf.
45 . The digital signage system of claim 40 , wherein the first touch-sensitive display and the second touch-sensitive display are configurable to:
display first content on the first touch-sensitive display and display second content on the second touch-sensitive display when the first touch-sensitive display and the second touch-sensitive display are to display content independently, the second content different from the first content; and display third content jointly on the first touch-sensitive display and the second touch-sensitive display when the first touch-sensitive display and the second touch-sensitive display are to display content jointly.
46 . The digital signage system of claim 40 , wherein the first touch-sensitive display and the second touch-sensitive display are configurable to:
display first content on the first touch-sensitive display and display second content on the second touch-sensitive display when the first touch-sensitive display and the second touch-sensitive display are to display content independently, the second content different from the first content; or display third content jointly on the first touch-sensitive display and the second touch-sensitive display when the first touch-sensitive display and the second touch-sensitive display are to display content jointly.
47 . A digital signage system comprising:
a first touch-sensitive display to mount to shelving; a second touch-sensitive display to mount to the shelving, the first touch-sensitive display and the second touch-sensitive display configurable to simultaneously display content independently and jointly, the second touch-sensitive display associated with a second interface to couple with a first interface associated with the first touch-sensitive display, the second touch-sensitive display to obtain the content from the first interface via the second interface; and computer readable instructions to cause processor circuitry to at least:
