Collapsible suitcase device
Abstract
A collapsible suitcase includes a main body having a rigid back panel, top, bottom, front, and rear panels. A frame is connected to the panels opposite to the back panel, and a cover is connected to one side of the frame. A liner bag is removably positioned within the main body. The main body transitions between an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration. In the expanded configuration, the top, bottom, front, and rear panels extend orthogonal to the back panel. In the collapsed configuration the top, bottom, front and rear panels are folded inward and are positioned within the interior space of the main body. A folding wheelbase having a plurality of casters is hingedly connected to rigid back panel. In the open position the casters extend outward from the bottom panel, and in the closed position the casters are positioned against the back panel.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A suitcase device, comprising:
a main body having a rigid back panel, a top panel, a bottom panel, a front panel, a rear panel and an interior space; a frame that is connected to each of the top panel, the bottom panel, the front panel and the rear panel; and a cover that is connected to the frame, said cover being configured to selectively block and allow access to the interior space; and a liner that is in communication with the main body, wherein the main body is configured to transition between an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration.
2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the rigid back panel includes an inside surface, and outside surface, a top wall, a bottom wall, a front wall and a rear wall;
wherein the top panel includes a first edge that is hingedly secured onto the top wall of the rigid back panel; wherein the bottom panel includes a first edge that is hingedly secured onto the bottom wall of the rigid back panel; wherein the front panel includes a lower section that is hingedly secured onto the front wall of the rigid back panel; and wherein the rear panel includes a lower section that is hingedly secured onto the rear wall of the rigid back panel.
3 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the frame comprises:
a top rail that is removably secured onto a second edge of the top wall; a bottom rail that is removably secured onto a second edge of the bottom wall; a front rail that is hingedly secured onto an upper section of the front panel; and a rear rail that is hingedly secured onto an upper section of the rear panel.
4 . The device of claim 3 , wherein in the expanded configuration, each of the top panel, the bottom panel, the front panel and the rear panel are positioned perpendicular to the inside surface of the rigid back panel; and
the frame is separated from the back panel by a depth of each of the top panel, the bottom panel, the front panel and the rear panel.
5 . The device of claim 3 , wherein in the collapsed configuration, each of the top panel, the bottom panel, the front panel and the rear panel are positioned parallel to the inside surface of the rigid back panel; and
the frame is separated from the back panel by a depth equal to a thickness of each of the top panel, the bottom panel, the front panel and the rear panel.
6 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the liner comprises:
a liner bag that is removably positioned within the interior space of the main body, said liner bag including a body section, a hollow interior space, and a liner cover.
7 . The device of claim 6 , wherein the liner bag includes a shape and a size that is complementary to a shape and a size of the interior space of the main body.
8 . The device of claim 7 , wherein the liner cover is configured to transition between an open and closed position independent of an operation of the cover connected to the main body.
9 . The device of claim 6 , wherein the liner bag is constructed from a malleable material and is configured to remain secured within the interior space of the main body when the main body is in both the expanded configuration and the collapsed configuration.
10 . A suitcase device, comprising:
a main body having a rigid back panel, a top panel, a rigid bottom panel, a front panel, and a rear panel that define an interior space; a cover that is in communication with the main body, said cover being configured to selectively block and allow access to the interior space; and a wheelbase that is configured to transition between an open position and a closed position.
11 . The device of claim 10 , wherein the wheelbase comprises:
a rigid wheelbase panel having a first surface and a second surface; and a plurality of casters that are secured along the first surface of the rigid wheelbase panel.
12 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the rigid back panel includes a bottom wall, and a first edge of the rigid wheelbase panel is hingedly secured onto the bottom wall.
13 . The device of claim 12 , wherein in the open position the second surface of the rigid wheelbase panel is positioned against the rigid bottom panel and the plurality of casters are extending outward from the main body.
14 . The device of claim 12 , wherein in the closed position, the first surface of the rigid wheelbase panel is positioned against an outside surface of the rigid back panel.
15 . A suitcase device, comprising:
a main body having a rigid back panel, a top panel, a bottom panel, a front panel, and a rear panel that define an interior space; a frame that is connected to each of the top panel, the bottom panel, the front panel and the rear panel; a cover that is connected to the frame, said cover being configured to selectively block and allow access to the interior space; and a wheelbase that is configured to transition between an open position and a closed position, wherein the main body is configured to transition between an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
