Claims

Abstract

The fishing lure includes a jig body, a blade, and a pin structure. The jig body includes a longitudinal axis, a connector, and at least one hook including a shank and a hook end, the shank being surrounded by and protruding rearwardly from the jig body. The blade has an edge proximal to the jig body, wherein the blade includes first and second members on the edge proximal to the jig body, each member defining a chamber. The pin structure is coupled to the blade via the first and second members, the pin structure including a midsection between opposing first and second pin ends, wherein the midsection of the pin structure engages the connector of the jig body while the pin structure passes through the first and second members of the blade. Retrieval of the fishing lure causes the blade to oscillate.

Claims 
     
         1 . A fishing lure comprising:
 a jig body with a longitudinal axis, wherein the jig body includes a connector;   at least one hook including a shank and a hook end, the shank being surrounded by and protruding rearwardly from the jig body and the hook end being spaced rearwardly behind the jig body along the longitudinal axis of the jig body;   a blade having an edge proximal to the jig body, wherein the blade includes first and second members on the edge proximal to the jig body, each member defining a chamber; and   a pin structure that is coupled to the blade via the first and second members, the pin structure including a midsection between opposing first and second pin ends, wherein the midsection of the pin structure engages the connector of the jig body while the pin structure passes through the first and second members of the blade;   whereby retrieval of the fishing lure through water causes the blade to oscillate relative to the jig body.   
     
     
         2 . The fishing lure of  claim 1 , wherein each of the first and second members comprises a rolled edge portion of the blade. 
     
     
         3 . The fishing lure of  claim 1 , wherein each of the first and second members is separate from the blade and affixed to the edge of the blade proximal to the jig body. 
     
     
         4 . The fishing lure of  claim 1 , wherein the connector is removably connected to the jig body. 
     
     
         5 . The fishing lure of  claim 1 , wherein the connector is integrally connected to the jig body. 
     
     
         6 . The fishing lure of  claim 1 , wherein the connector is an eyelet. 
     
     
         7 . The fishing lure of  claim 1 , wherein the pin structure is bifurcated. 
     
     
         8 . The fishing lure of  claim 1 , wherein the blade contains a flat portion comprised within a single plane. 
     
     
         9 . The fishing lure of  claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the blade is angled out of plane from a remaining portion of the blade. 
     
     
         10 . The fishing lure of  claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the blade is curved out of plane from a remaining portion of the blade. 
     
     
         11 . The fishing lure of  claim 1 , wherein the circumference of the blade comprises one of a single continuous segment or at least two segments. 
     
     
         12 . The fishing lure of  claim 1 , wherein oscillation of the blade relative to the jig body is limited by contact of the pin structure with the first and second members. 
     
     
         13 . The fishing lure of  claim 1 , wherein oscillation of the blade relative to the jig body is limited by contact of the blade with the jig body.
