Abstract
A power supply apparatus performs control so as to perform first search processing for detecting a power reception apparatus based on at least one communication method from among a plurality of communication methods, before performing power supply to the power reception apparatus detected in the first search processing, to perform second search processing for detecting a communication apparatus other than the power reception apparatus based on at least one communication method from among the plurality of communication methods, and if a communication apparatus other than the power reception apparatus is not detected in the second search processing, to transition to a state where power supply to the power reception apparatus is possible.

a communication unit that is capable of communicating with a power reception apparatus; and a control unit that controls power supply to the power reception apparatus in a non-contact manner, wherein the control unit performs control so as to perform first processing for detecting a power reception apparatus to which power can be supplied, second processing for detecting a communication apparatus other than the power reception apparatus based on a plurality of communication methods, and if the communication apparatus other than the power reception apparatus is not detected in the second processing, transition to a state where power supply to the power reception apparatus detected in the first processing is possible.

The power supply apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit performs control so as not to transition to the state where the power supply to the power reception apparatus detected in the first processing is possible if the communication apparatus other than the power reception apparatus is detected in the second processing.

The power supply apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the control unit performs control so as to perform the second processing again if the power supply to the power reception apparatus is not started, and transition to the state where the power supply to the power reception apparatus is possible if the communication apparatus other than the power reception apparatus is not detected.
4 . The power supply apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit performs the second processing if a power supply request is received from the power reception apparatus detected in the first processing.

The power supply apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein, if power requested as per the power supply request is within a predetermined value, the control unit performs control so as to not perform the second processing, and to transition to the state where power supply to the power reception apparatus is possible.
6 . The power supply apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein in the first processing the control unit detects the power reception apparatus based on a plurality of communication methods.

The power supply apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein by the communication unit the control unit acquires identification information of the power reception apparatus and a communication method that the power reception apparatus complies with, from the power reception apparatus detected in the first processing, and
the control unit stores, in a storage unit, the identification information of the power reception apparatus acquired by the communication unit and the communication method that the power reception apparatus complies with, in association with each other.

The power supply apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit performs, in the second processing, detection processing using a communication method that the power reception apparatus detected in the first processing complies with, after performing detection processing using a communication method that the power reception apparatus does not comply with.

The power supply apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit performs control so as to perform, in the second processing, detection processing using a communication method that the power reception apparatus detected in the first processing does not comply with, and if the communication apparatus other than the power reception apparatus is detected, not to start power supply to the power reception apparatus.

The power supply apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a notification unit that makes a notification of the fact that power supply to the power reception apparatus cannot be started, if the communication apparatus other than the power reception apparatus is detected in the second processing.
11 . The power supply apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the communication methods include communication methods stipulated as ISO/IEC14443, ISO/IEC 15693, and ISO/IEC 18092.
12 . The power supply apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein in the second processing the control unit detects a communication apparatus that has no battery.
13 . The power supply apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein in the second processing the control unit detects a communication apparatus that is a card-type or sticker-type electronic device.
14 . The power supply apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit controls power supply to a power reception apparatus that is a mobile object having a battery.
15 . The power supply apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit controls power supply to a power reception apparatus that is a communication terminal having a battery.
16 . A method of controlling a power supply apparatus that includes a communication unit that is capable of communicating with a power reception apparatus and a control unit that controls power supply to the power reception apparatus in a non-contact manner, the method comprising:
performing first processing for detecting a power reception apparatus to which power can be supplied; performing second processing for detecting a communication apparatus other than the power reception apparatus based on a plurality of communication methods, and if the communication apparatus other than the power reception apparatus is not detected in the second processing, transitioning to a state where power supply to the power reception apparatus detected in the first processing is possible.
17 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium which stores a program for causing a power supply apparatus that includes a communication unit that is capable of communicating with a power reception apparatus and a control unit that controls power supply to the power reception apparatus in a non-contact manner, the method comprising:
