Abstract

Systems, methods, and media are provided herein for synchronizing delivery between two or more shipments, each shipment associated with one or more items. For example, a Global Positioning System (GPS) device detects a geocode for a first serviceable point, the geocode corresponding to a latitude and longitude coordinate (and an altitude in some aspects). A record may be stored at a database, the record comprising shipment data for a shipment of an item and the geocode for the first serviceable point. Another shipment may be determined to be within a range of a time associated with the shipment data for the shipment. The other shipment may also have a second serviceable point within a threshold distance of the first serviceable point. Based on the range of time and the threshold distance, an indication (that the shipments are available for synchronized delivery) may be provided.

The invention claimed is: 
     
         1 . A computer implemented method comprising:
 detecting, via one or more Global Positioning System (GPS) devices, a first geocode for a first serviceable point and a second geocode for a second serviceable point, the first geocode and the second geocode each corresponding to a latitude and longitude coordinate;   storing a first record for a first shipment of one or more items, the first record comprising (1) the first geocode for the first serviceable point and (2) other delivery data;   based on the first record, determining that a second shipment of one or more items is scheduled to be delivered to the second serviceable point within a range of time associated with the other delivery data of the first shipment; and   based on the second shipment being scheduled within the range of time and based on the first geocode and the second geocode being within a threshold distance, providing an indication that the first shipment and the second shipment are available for synchronized delivery.   
     
     
         2 . The computer implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 determining that a third shipment of one or more items is scheduled to be delivered to a third serviceable point within the range of time associated with the other delivery data of the first shipment;   determining that a delivery location of the third shipment is within the threshold distance of the first geocode or the second geocode; and   providing an indication that the third shipment is available for the synchronized delivery with the first shipment and the second shipment based on the delivery location of the third shipment and based on determining that the third shipment is scheduled to be delivered within the range of time.   
     
     
         3 . The computer implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 storing a second record comprising a plurality of geocodes for a plurality of serviceable points, each of the plurality of geocodes being within a predetermined proximity zone;   determining that the first geocode and the second geocode are both within the predetermined proximity zone; and   providing the indication that the first shipment and the second shipment are available for the synchronized delivery based on the first geocode and the second geocode being within the predetermined proximity zone.   
     
     
         4 . The computer implemented method of  claim 3 , further comprising:
 determining that a third shipment of one or more items is scheduled to be delivered to a third serviceable point that is within the predetermined proximity zone; and   providing an indication that the third shipment is available for the synchronized delivery with the first shipment and the second shipment based on the third serviceable point being within the predetermined proximity zone.   
     
     
         5 . The computer implemented method of  claim 4 , further comprising modifying delivery data of the third shipment based on the synchronized delivery with the first shipment and the second shipment, the modification to the delivery data corresponding to an earlier schedule for delivery to the third serviceable point. 
     
     
         6 . The computer implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising determining that an area encompassing the first geocode and the second geocode is a high delivery density area or a low density area, and providing the indication that the first shipment and the second shipment are available for the synchronized delivery based on the area encompassing the first geocode and the second geocode being the high delivery density area or the low density area. 
     
     
         7 . The computer implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 storing a second record comprising historical vehicle travel paths for an area encompassing the first geocode and the second geocode; and   providing the indication that the first shipment and the second shipment are available for the synchronized delivery based on the historical vehicle travel paths associated with the range of time for the first shipment.   
     
     
         8 . The computer implemented method of  claim 7 , wherein the second record comprising the historical vehicle travel paths includes location data for vehicles and corresponding time stamps. 
     
     
         9 . A system comprising one or more memory storage areas and one or more computer processors, the system configured to:
 detect, via one or more Global Positioning System (GPS) devices, a plurality of geocodes for a plurality of serviceable points, each of the plurality of geocodes corresponding to a latitude and longitude coordinate;   store a first record for a first shipment of one or more items, the first record comprising (1) a first geocode of the plurality of geocodes and (2) a time range for delivery of the first shipment;   based on the first record, determine that a second shipment of one or more items is scheduled to be delivered to one of the plurality of serviceable points within the time range for delivery of the first shipment; and   based on the second shipment being scheduled within the time range and based on the first geocode and the second shipment being within a threshold distance, provide an indication that the first shipment and the second shipment are available for synchronized delivery.   
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 9 , further comprising:
 determine a first average frequency in which a plurality of vehicles travel within a street segment associated with the first geocode;   determine a second average frequency in which a plurality of vehicles travel within a street segment associated with a second geocode of the plurality of geocodes associated with the second shipment;   determine that the first average frequency and the second average frequency satisfy a frequency threshold; and   based on the first average frequency and the second average frequency satisfying the frequency threshold, provide the indication that the first shipment and the second shipment are available for the synchronized delivery.   
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein the first average frequency and the second average frequency are determined for a particular day and a particular time range of the particular day corresponding to the time range for delivery of the first shipment. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein the first average frequency and the second average frequency are determined by overlaying map data and historical vehicle travel data, the map data comprising attributes of each of a plurality of street segments associated with the plurality of geocodes. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the historical vehicle travel data includes time stamp data corresponding to tracing a particular vehicle. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the historical vehicle travel data includes a speed limit for the street segment associated with the first geocode and a speed limit for the street segment associated with the second geocode. 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the latitude and longitude coordinate for the first geocode corresponds to an address. 
     
     
         16 . A computer program product comprising at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having computer-readable program code portions stored therein, the computer-readable program code portions configured to cause operations comprising:
 detecting, via one or more Global Positioning System (GPS) devices, a geocode for a first serviceable point, the geocode comprising geocode data;   storing a record for a first shipment of one or more items, the record comprising (1) the geocode for the first serviceable point and (2) delivery time data;   based on the record, determining that a second shipment of one or more items is scheduled to be delivered to a second serviceable point within a time range associated with the delivery time data of the first shipment;   determining that the geocode and a delivery location of the second shipment are within a threshold distance; and   based on the second shipment being scheduled to be delivered within the time range associated with the delivery time data of the first shipment and the delivery location of the second shipment being within the threshold distance, providing an indication that the first shipment and the second shipment are available for synchronized delivery.   
     
     
         17 . The computer program product of  claim 16 , further comprising:
 determining a delivery vehicle for the first shipment has a volume of deliveries below a threshold; and   providing the indication that the first shipment and the second shipment are available for the synchronized delivery based on the volume of deliveries being below the threshold.   
     
     
         18 . The computer program product of  claim 16 , further comprising:
 determining a weight of the one or more items of the second shipment is below a threshold; and   providing the indication that the first shipment and the second shipment are available for the synchronized delivery based on the weight of the one or more items of the second shipment being below the threshold.   
     
     
         19 . The computer program product of  claim 16 , wherein the threshold distance is determined based on a population density associated with the second serviceable point. 
     
     
         20 . The computer program product of  claim 16 , wherein the threshold distance is determined based on a traffic density associated with the second serviceable point for the time range associated with the delivery time data of the first shipment.
