Scalable, secure, efficient, and adaptable distributed digital ledger transaction network
Abstract
The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable storage media for implementing a scalable, secure, efficient, and adaptable distributed digital ledger transaction network. Indeed, the disclosed systems can reduce storage and processing requirements, improve security of implementing computing devices and underlying digital assets, accommodate a wide variety of different digital programs (or “smart contracts”), and scale to accommodate billions of users and associated digital transactions. For example, the disclosed systems can utilize a host of features that improve storage, account/address management, digital transaction execution, consensus, and synchronization processes. The disclosed systems can also utilize a new programming language that improves efficiency and security of the distributed digital ledger transaction network.

1 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
identifying a transaction comprising a transaction script for modifying a resource stored within a user account of an authenticated data structure of a distributed digital ledger transaction network, wherein:
the resource is defined by a module; and
the transaction script comprises a call to a procedure defined by the module to modify the resource; and
executing the transaction to alter the authenticated data structure of the distributed digital ledger transaction network in accordance with the transaction script by modifying the resource using the procedure defined by the module.
2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein:
identifying the transaction comprising the transaction script for modifying the resource stored within the user account comprises identifying the transaction comprising the transaction script for transferring the resource from the user account to an additional user account of the authenticated data structure; and modifying the resource using the procedure defined by the module comprises transferring the resource from the user account to the additional user account using at least one procedure defined by the module.
3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 2 , wherein transferring the resource from the user account to the additional user account using the at least one procedure defined by the module comprises:
withdrawing the resource from the user account utilizing a withdrawal procedure defined by the module; and depositing the resource into the additional user account utilizing a deposit procedure defined by the module.
4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:
identifying an additional transaction comprising an additional transaction script for modifying an additional resource defined by the module utilizing an additional procedure defined outside of the module; and rejecting the additional transaction based on determining that the additional transaction script utilizes the additional procedure defined outside the module to modify the additional resource defined by the module.
5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein:
the transaction script comprises calls to one or more additional procedures defined by one or more additional modules to modify resources defined by the one or more additional modules; and executing the transaction to alter the authenticated data structure of the distributed digital ledger transaction network in accordance with the transaction script comprises executing the transaction to alter the authenticated data structure in accordance with the transaction script by modifying the resources utilizing the one or more additional procedures.
6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising storing the module that defines the resource at an additional user account of the authenticated data structure of the distributed digital ledger transaction network.
7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein:
the module comprises data code that declares a resource type associated with the resource and declares one or more procedures used in interacting with resources of the resource type; and the resource comprises data values corresponding to an instance of the module.
8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 7 , wherein:
the module declares a digital asset type; and the resource corresponds to a digital asset associated with the digital asset type.
9 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions thereon that, when executed by at least one processor, cause a computing device to:
identify a transaction comprising a transaction script for modifying a resource stored within a user account of an authenticated data structure of a distributed digital ledger transaction network, wherein:
the resource is defined by a module; and
the transaction script comprises a call to a procedure defined by the module to modify the resource; and
execute the transaction to alter the authenticated data structure of the distributed digital ledger transaction network in accordance with the transaction script by modifying the resource using the procedure defined by the module.
10 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the computing device to:
identify the transaction comprising the transaction script for modifying the resource stored within the user account by identifying the transaction comprising the transaction script for transferring the resource from the user account to an additional user account of the authenticated data structure; and modify the resource using the procedure defined by the module by transferring the resource from the user account to the additional user account using at least one procedure defined by the module.
11 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein transferring the resource from the user account to the additional user account using the at least one procedure defined by the module comprises:
withdrawing the resource from the user account utilizing a withdrawal procedure defined by the module; and depositing the resource into the additional user account utilizing a deposit procedure defined by the module.
12 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the computing device to:
identify an additional transaction comprising an additional transaction script for modifying an additional resource defined by the module utilizing an additional procedure defined outside of the module; and reject the additional transaction based on determining that the additional transaction script utilizes the additional procedure defined outside the module to modify the additional resource defined by the module.
13 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein:
the transaction script comprises calls to one or more additional procedures defined by one or more additional modules to modify resources defined by the one or more additional modules; and the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the computing device to execute the transaction to alter the authenticated data structure of the distributed digital ledger transaction network in accordance with the transaction script by executing the transaction to alter the authenticated data structure in accordance with the transaction script by modifying the resources utilizing the one or more additional procedures.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the computing device to store the module that defines the resource at an additional user account of the authenticated data structure of the distributed digital ledger transaction network.
15 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein:
the module comprises data code that declares a resource type associated with the resource and declares one or more procedures used in interacting with resources of the resource type; and the resource comprises data values corresponding to an instance of the module.
16 . A system comprising:
at least one processor; and at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions thereon that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to: identify a transaction comprising a transaction script for modifying a resource stored within a user account of an authenticated data structure of a distributed digital ledger transaction network, wherein:
the resource is defined by a module; and
the transaction script comprises a call to a procedure defined by the module to modify the resource; and
execute the transaction to alter the authenticated data structure of the distributed digital ledger transaction network in accordance with the transaction script by modifying the resource using the procedure defined by the module.
17 . The system of claim 16 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to:
identify the transaction comprising the transaction script for modifying the resource stored within the user account by identifying the transaction comprising the transaction script for transferring the resource from the user account to an additional user account of the authenticated data structure; and modify the resource using the procedure defined by the module by transferring the resource from the user account to the additional user account using at least one procedure defined by the module.
18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein transferring the resource from the user account to the additional user account using the at least one procedure defined by the module comprises:
withdrawing the resource from the user account utilizing a withdrawal procedure defined by the module; and depositing the resource into the additional user account utilizing a deposit procedure defined by the module.
19 . The system of claim 16 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to:
identify an additional transaction comprising an additional transaction script for modifying an additional resource defined by the module utilizing an additional procedure defined outside of the module; and reject the additional transaction based on determining that the additional transaction script utilizes the additional procedure defined outside the module to modify the additional resource defined by the module.
20 . The system of claim 16 , wherein:
the transaction script comprises calls to one or more additional procedures defined by one or more additional modules to modify resources defined by the one or more additional modules; and the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to execute the transaction to alter the authenticated data structure of the distributed digital ledger transaction network in accordance with the transaction script by executing the transaction to alter the authenticated data structure in accordance with the transaction script by modifying the resources utilizing the one or more additional procedures.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
