System and method for controlling building management systems for scheduled events
Abstract
An event automation system controls building management systems (e.g. building automation, access control, and/or security systems of a building) for scheduled events. An occupancy module generates occupancy information for event spaces where events are scheduled via occupancy sensors installed at the event spaces. A building automation module instructs distributed devices of the building management systems to control the environmental settings of the event spaces based on the occupancy information and stored space, attendee, and schedule information. The event automation system also facilitates scheduling the events at event spaces of the building based on configuration information from an event organizer (e.g. invited attendees, start and end times, and activities to be performed at the event), required automation features for the event, location information and exercise preferences for the invited attendees, and/or aggregated usage information for the event spaces.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 7 . (canceled)
8 . A method of operation of a building automation system of a building, the method comprising:
generating occupancy information for spaces of the building where events are scheduled; generating event status information based on the occupancy information; and
controlling environmental conditions of the spaces based on the event status information.
9 . The method as claimed in claim 8 , further comprising generating the occupancy information based on occupancy sensors at the spaces detecting attendees present at the spaces by wirelessly receiving identification information from user devices of the attendees.
10 . The method as claimed in claim 8 , further comprising generating the occupancy information based on access control readers that control access to the spaces detecting attendees present at the spaces by receiving identification information from attendees engaging with the access control readers.
11 . The method as claimed in claim 8 , further comprising generating the occupancy information based on analyzing image data depicting attendees present at the spaces.
12 . The method as claimed in claim 8 , further comprising generating event status information based on whether the occupancy information indicates that a predetermined portion of invited attendees are present at the spaces.
13 . The method as claimed in claim 8 , further comprising generating event status information based on whether the occupancy information indicates that particular attendees are present at the spaces.
14 . The method as claimed in claim 8 , further comprising controlling the environmental conditions of the spaces by sending instructions to distributed devices of the building automation system.
15 . The method as claimed in claim 8 , further comprising controlling the environmental conditions of the spaces by raising or lowering projector screens, opening or closing blinds, adjusting lighting levels and/or adjusting climate conditions.
16 . The method as claimed in claim 8 , further comprising controlling the environmental conditions of the spaces based on preferences of organizers and/or attendees of the events.
17 . The method as claimed in claim 8 , further comprising granting access to the spaces only to attendees of the events.
18 . The method as claimed in claim 8 , further comprising sending alerts to organizers and/or attendees of the events based on the event status information.
19 . The method as claimed in claim 8 , further comprising rescheduling the events based on the event status information.

21 . A system for controlling one or more building management systems of a building for scheduled events, the system comprising:
an occupancy module for generating occupancy information for spaces of the building where the events are scheduled; distributed devices of the one or more building management systems; and a space automation module for receiving the occupancy information, generating event status information based on the occupancy information, and sending instructions to the distributed devices to control environmental conditions of the spaces based on the event status information.
22 . The system as claimed in claim 21 , further comprising generating the occupancy information based on occupancy sensors at the spaces detecting attendees present at the spaces by wirelessly receiving identification information from user devices of the attendees.
23 . The system as claimed in claim 21 , further comprising generating the occupancy information based on access control readers that control access to the spaces detecting attendees present at the spaces by receiving identification information from attendees engaging with the access control readers.
24 . The system as claimed in claim 21 , further comprising generating the occupancy information based on analyzing image data depicting attendees present at the spaces.
25 . The system as claimed in claim 21 , further comprising generating event status information based on whether the occupancy information indicates that a predetermined portion of invited attendees are present at the spaces. The system as claimed in claim 13 , further comprising generating event status information based on whether the occupancy information indicates that a predetermined portion of invited attendees are present at the spaces.
26 . The system as claimed in claim 21 , further comprising generating event status information based on whether the occupancy information indicates that particular attendees are present at the spaces.
27 . The system as claimed in claim 21 , further comprising controlling the environmental conditions of the spaces by sending instructions to distributed devices of the building automation system.
28 . The system as claimed in claim 21 , further comprising controlling the environmental conditions of the spaces based on preferences of organizers and/or attendees of the events.
29 . The system as claimed in claim 21 , further comprising granting access to the spaces only to attendees of the events.
30 . The system as claimed in claim 21 , further comprising sending alerts to organizers and/or attendees of the events based on the event status information.
31 . The system as claimed in claim 21 , further comprising rescheduling the events based on the event status information.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
