Linking and monitoring of offender social media
Abstract
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for identifying and monitoring social media accounts belonging to offenders, inmates, and relevant third parties. In an embodiment, a social media monitoring system retrieves information from a criminal history database to identify and verify social media account information. In an embodiment, a social media monitoring system retrieves information from an offender communication device, such as a computer, phone, or tablet, to identify and verify social media account information. The social media monitoring system analyzes this information, retrieves social media accounts, and generates a confidence score and/or relevance score for each retrieved social media account. Social media monitoring system organizes links to the social media accounts based on the scores and also generates alerts when a security threat associated with the social media accounts is detected.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A social media monitoring system, comprising:
a memory; and one or more processors and/or circuits coupled to the memory, wherein the one or more processors are configured to:
receive first information corresponding to a first individual and second information corresponding to a second individual from a communication device;
search for social media accounts related to the first and the second individuals;
identify a first social media account corresponding to the first individual and a second social media account corresponding to the second individual based on a result of the search;
determine a first account score for the first social media account indicating a first frequency of user activity corresponding to the first social media account;
determine a second account score based on a frequency of interaction between the first social media account and the second social media account; and
generate a graphical user interface displaying the first social media account and the second social media account ranked by the first and the second account scores.
2 . The social media monitoring system of claim 1 , wherein the communication device corresponds to the first individual.
3 . The social media monitoring system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors and/or circuits are further configured to:
receive additional information from a criminal history database; and search for the social media accounts based on the additional information.
4 . The social media monitoring system of claim 3 , wherein the one or more processors and/or circuits are further configured to:
receive a list of predefined keywords; modify the list of predefined keywords based on the additional information; and search for the social media accounts based on the modified list of predefined keywords.
5 . The social media monitoring system of claim 4 , wherein the modifying the list of predefined keywords includes:
determining an amount of information in the additional information; and adjusting an amount of keywords in the list of predefined keywords.
6 . The social media monitoring system of claim 4 , wherein the modifying the list of predefined keywords includes:
determining that the additional information includes a criminal activity corresponding to the first individual; and selecting keywords corresponding to the criminal activity from the list of predefined keywords.
7 . The social media monitoring system of claim 4 , the one or more processors and/or circuits are further configured to receive the list of predefined keywords from a user.
8 . The social media monitoring system of claim 4 , wherein to the searching for the social media accounts includes:
determining a frequency of appearance of the modified list of predefined keywords in a social media account; and determining that the frequency of appearance is above a threshold.
9 . A computer-implemented method, comprising:
receiving first information corresponding to a first individual and second information corresponding to a second individual from a communication device; searching for social media accounts related to the first and the second individuals; identifying a first social media account corresponding to the first individual and a second social media account corresponding to the second individual based on a result of the searching; determining a first account score for the first social media account indicating a first frequency of user activity corresponding to the first social media account; determining a second account score based on a frequency of interaction between the first social media account and the second social media account; and generating a graphical user interface displaying the first social media account and the second social media account ranked by the first and the second account scores.
10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the communication device corresponds to the first individual.
11 . The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , further comprising:
receiving additional information from a criminal history database; and searching for the social media accounts based on the additional information.
12 . The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , further comprising:
receiving a list of predefined keywords; modifying the list of predefined keywords based on the additional information; and searching for the social media accounts based on the modified list of predefined keywords.
13 . The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , wherein the modifying the list of predefined keywords further comprises:
determining an amount of information in the additional information; and adjusting an amount of keywords in the list of predefined keywords.
14 . The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , wherein the modifying the list of predefined keywords further comprises:
determining that the additional information includes a criminal activity corresponding to the first individual; and selecting keywords corresponding to the criminal activity from the list of predefined keywords.
15 . The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , further comprising:
receiving the list of predefined keywords from a user.
16 . The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , wherein the searching for the social media accounts based on the modified list of predefined keywords further comprises:
determining a frequency of appearance of the modified list of predefined keywords in a social media account; and determining that the frequency of appearance is above a threshold.
17 . A non-transitory computer-readable device having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by at least one computing device, cause the at least one computing device to perform operations comprising:
receiving first information corresponding to a first individual and second information corresponding to a second individual from a communication device; searching for social media accounts related to the first and the second individuals; identifying a first social media account corresponding to the first individual and a second social media account corresponding to the second individual based on a result of the searching; determining a first account score for the first social media account indicating a first frequency of user activity corresponding to the first social media account; determining a second account score based on a frequency of interaction between the first social media account and the second social media account; and generating a graphical user interface displaying the first social media account and the second social media account ranked by the first and the second account scores.
18 . The non-transitory computer-readable device of claim 17 , the operations further comprising:
receiving additional information from a criminal history database; and searching for the social media accounts based on the additional information.
19 . The non-transitory computer-readable device of claim 17 , the operations further comprising:
receiving a list of predefined keywords; modifying the list of predefined keywords based on the additional information; and searching for the social media accounts based on the modified list of predefined keywords.
20 . The non-transitory computer-readable device of claim 19 , the operations further comprising:
determining an amount of information in the additional information; and adjusting an amount of keywords in the list of predefined keywords.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
