Abstract
A bowl assembly has a bowl and a lid. The bowl assembly is adapted to store water or food for a pet. The bowl functions as a container to hold the water or food, while the lid functions in a first configuration to seal the water or food within the bowl. The bowl assembly is convenient to travel with and adapted for use in a vehicle where in the first configuration. The bowl assembly allows for the pet to access the water or food while in a cup holder. The bowl assembly is also stabilized by the lid in a second configuration, where placed on a ground or floor surface.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A bowl assembly, comprising:
a bowl with a hollow main body having a first portion and a second portion, the first portion having a first wall, the first wall having a lip that defines a first opening in the main body, the second portion having a second wall, the first portion having a minimum width and the second portion having a maximum width, the minimum width of the first portion being greater than the maximum width of the second portion; and a lid with a hollow receiver portion, the lid positionable between a first configuration and a second configuration, the first configuration sealing the first opening of the hollow main body and the second configuration supporting the hollow main body, wherein the lid has a collar configured to receive the lip of the first portion of the main body where in the first configuration, and wherein the collar of the lid is hingedly attached to a band, and the band configured to surround the first portion of the main body where in the first configuration.
2 . The bowl assembly of claim 1 , wherein the collar surrounds the hollow receiver portion, the hollow receiver portion having a support wall and a stabilizing wall and configured to receive the second portion of the bowl in the second configuration.
3 . The bowl assembly of claim 2 , wherein the hollow receiver portion is open to a bottom side of the lid and the lid is inverted from the first configuration to the second configuration in order to support the bowl in the second configuration.
4 . The bowl assembly of claim 2 , wherein the hollow receiver portion is open to a top side of the lid and the lid is not inverted from the first configuration to the second configuration in order to support the bowl in the second configuration.
5 . The bowl assembly of claim 4 , wherein the lid has an intermediate portion surrounding the hollow receiver portion, and the intermediate portion is dome shaped.
6 . The bowl assembly of claim 5 , wherein the intermediate portion is connected to the collar of the lid with a hinge and is movable between an opened position and a closed position.
7 . The bowl assembly of claim 6 , wherein the hinge is defined by at least one protrusion formed on the collar, a pair of projections formed on the intermediate portion, each of the protrusion and the projections having a hole formed therein, and a hinge pin disposed through the hole in each of the protrusion and the projections.
8 . The bowl assembly of claim 7 , wherein the collar has a central aperture formed therein, and the intermediate portion has a ledge that is configured to be received by the central aperture where the intermediate portion is in the closed position.
9 . A bowl assembly, comprising:
a bowl with a hollow main body having a side wall and a base wall, the side wall having a lip that defines a first opening of the hollow main body, the base wall having a gripping layer that is configured to minimize slippage of the main body on a ground or floor surface and to militate against the main body scratching the ground or floor surface; and a lid positionable between a first configuration and a second configuration, the first configuration sealing the first opening of the hollow main body, wherein at least one of the lip and the lid is magnetic in order to magnetically secure the lid to the lip where in the first configuration.
10 . The bowl assembly of claim 9 , wherein the gripping layer is formed form a felt material.
11 . The bowl assembly of claim 9 , wherein the main body has a second opening formed through the side wall.
12 . The bowl assembly of claim 11 , further comprising a nozzle formed on the side wall adjacent the second opening, the nozzle having a threaded surface that receives a threaded cap, the thread cap configured to selectively seal the second opening.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
