Abstract

A solar panel guard system includes a guard structure including an upper edge to be disposed proximate a solar panel and a lower edge to be disposed proximate a surface that is disposed under the solar panel. The solar panel guard system further includes a bracket including a clip that removably attaches to the solar panel. The bracket includes a leg extending from the clip towards the lower edge of the guard structure, the leg forming a threaded portion. The threaded portion is to removable connect to a fastening device to secure the guard structure to the leg.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A solar panel guard system comprising:
a guard structure comprising an upper edge to be disposed proximate a solar panel and a lower edge to be disposed proximate a surface that is disposed under the solar panel; and a bracket comprising:
a clip that removably attaches to the solar panel; and
a leg extending from the clip towards the lower edge of the guard structure, the leg forming a threaded portion, wherein the threaded portion is to removably connect to a fastening device to secure the guard structure to the leg.

2 . The solar panel guard system of claim 1 , wherein the threaded portion comprises inner threads forming an opening in the leg, and the fastening device comprises outer threads to interface with the inner threads of the threaded portion.

3 . The solar panel guard system of claim 1 , wherein the threaded portion comprises outer threads of a protrusion of the leg, and the fastening device comprises inner threads to interface with the outer threads of the threaded portion.

4 . The solar panel guard system of claim 1 , wherein the leg forms two or more threaded portions each to removably connect to a corresponding fastening device to secure the guard structure to the leg.

5 . The solar panel guard system of claim 1 , wherein the clip is oriented substantially perpendicular to the leg of the bracket.

6 . The solar panel guard system of claim 1 , wherein the clip is oriented substantially parallel to the leg of the bracket.

7 . The solar panel guard system of claim 1 , wherein the clip comprises a clamp structure that provides a clamping force to removably attach the bracket to the solar panel.

8 . The solar panel guard system of claim 1 , wherein:
the guard structure comprises one or more of a perforated barrier, metal sheathing, wire mesh, expanded wire mesh, plastic mesh, or a screen.

9 . The solar panel guard system of claim 1 , wherein the upper edge of the guard structure is disposed above an upper surface of the clip responsive to the guard structure being secured to the leg of the bracket, and wherein the guard structure holds the bracket in place on the solar panel responsive to the guard structure being secured to the leg.

10 . A bracket of a solar panel guard system, the bracket comprising:
a clip that removably attaches to a solar panel; and a leg to support a guard structure, the guard structure having an upper edge and a lower edge, wherein the leg extends from the clip toward the lower edge of the guard structure, the leg forming a threaded portion, and wherein the threaded portion is to removably connect to a fastening device to secure the guard structure to the leg.

11 . The bracket of claim 10 , wherein the threaded portion comprises inner threads forming an opening in the leg, and the fastening device comprises outer threads to interface with the inner threads of the threaded portion.

12 . The bracket of claim 10 , wherein the threaded portion comprises outer threads of a protrusion of the leg, and the fastening device comprises inner threads to interface with the outer threads of the threaded portion.

13 . The bracket of claim 10 , wherein the leg forms two or more threaded portions each to removably connect to a corresponding fastening device to secure the guard structure to the leg.

14 . The bracket of claim 10 , wherein the clip is oriented substantially perpendicular to the leg.

15 . The bracket of claim 10 , wherein the clip is oriented substantially parallel to the leg.

16 . The bracket of claim 10 , wherein the clip comprises a clamp structure that provides a clamping force to removably attach the bracket to the solar panel.

17 . The bracket of claim 10 , wherein the leg further comprises a protrusion to pass through an opening of an extension structure and attach to a second fastening device to secure the extension structure to the leg.

         18 . A method comprising:
removably attaching a clip of a bracket to a solar panel, wherein a leg of the bracket extends from the clip towards a lower edge of a guard structure, wherein the leg forms a threaded portion; and removably connecting a fastening device to the threaded portion of the leg of the bracket to secure the guard structure to the leg to cause an upper edge of the guard structure to be disposed proximate the solar panel and to cause the lower edge of the guard structure to be disposed proximate a surface disposed under the solar panel.

19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the threaded portion comprises inner threads forming an opening in the leg, and the fastening device comprises outer threads to interface with the inner threads of the threaded portion.

20 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the threaded portion comprises outer threads of a protrusion of the leg, and the fastening device comprises inner threads to interface with the outer threads of the threaded portion.
