Computerized Electronic Gaming Methods And Systems
Abstract
Computerized electronic gaming techniques may include accessing a gaming application and receiving data representative of a location of a system operable by a player of an electronic game. A graphical user interface (GUI) for play of the electronic game may be displayed on an electronic display device of, or associated with, the system in response to the gaming application being accessed. Data representative of game play actions by the player in the electronic game may be relayed to the gaming application via the GUI. A computerized policy based at least in part on the location of the system may be implemented to prevent cheating or unauthorized collusion by the player in the electronic game. The computerized policy may direct one or more game control actions responsive to a presence or absence of cheating or unauthorized collusion by the player being detected in the electronic game.

1 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
accessing a gaming application for an electronic game; receiving data representative of a location of an electronic game play system; responsive to accessing the gaming application, displaying a graphical user interface (GUI) for play of an electronic game on an electronic display device of, or associated with, the electronic game play system; relaying, via the GUI, data representative of game play actions by a user of the electronic game play system to the gaming application; and implementing a computerized policy based at least in part on the location of the electronic game play system to prevent cheating or unauthorized collusion by the user in the electronic game, the computerized policy directing one or more game control actions responsive to a presence or absence of cheating or unauthorized collusion by the user being detected in the electronic game.
2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising, in response to the receiving, determining a geographical location of the system based on the data representative of the location.
3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein accessing the gaming application comprises fetching game control data from a memory storage device.
4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , wherein the game control data includes computer-executable instructions to change a visual state of the GUI in response to the data representative of game play actions by the user.
5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising generating the computerized policy according to the data representative of the location of the system.
6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising monitoring the data representative of game play actions by the user for at least one triggering event representative of actual or potential collusion or cheating by the user in the electronic game.
7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 6 , wherein the monitoring comprises detecting the at least one triggering event.
8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 6 further comprising implementing the one or more game control actions in the electronic game in response to the at least one triggering event being detected.
9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising disabling at least some functionality of the electronic game in response to cheating or unauthorized collusion by the user being detected in the electronic game.
10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising establishing, via a communications interface of, or associated with, the system, communications with a remote host computer administering at least a portion of the gaming application.
11 . A system comprising:
at least one processor communicably coupled to a memory storage device; and an electronic display device operatively coupled to the at least one processor; wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
access a gaming application for an electronic game;
receive data representative of a location of the system from computerized means for determining the location of the system;
responsive to the gaming application being accessed, cause the gaming application to display a graphical user interface (GUI) for play of an electronic game on the electronic display device;
relay, via the GUI, data representative of game play actions by a user to the gaming application; and
implement a computerized policy based at least in part on the location of the system to prevent cheating or unauthorized collusion by the user in the electronic game, the computerized policy directing one or more game control actions responsive to a presence or absence of cheating or unauthorized collusion by the user being detected in the electronic game.

The system of claim 11 further comprising a communications interface operatively coupled to the at least one processor, wherein to access the gaming application, the at least one processor is further configured to receive, via the communications interface, game control data from a remote host computer, the game control data including instructions for the at least one processor to execute to change a visual state of the GUI in response to the data representative of game play actions by the user.
13 . The system of claim 11 further comprising a communications interface operatively coupled to the at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to cause the communications interface to:
establish communications with a remote host computer for the electronic game, the remote host computer having the memory storage device storing at least a portion of the computerized policy; and
receive at least a portion of the computerized policy from the remote host computer.
14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to transmit the data representative of the location of the system to the remote host computer.
15 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the remote host computer includes, or is in communication with, the computerized means for determining the location of the system.
16 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the computerized means for determining the location of the system is distributed amongst the system and the remote host computer.
17 . The system of claim 13 , wherein to relay the data representative of the game play actions by the user to the gaming application, the at least one processor is further configured to cause the communications interface to transmit at least some of the data representative of the game play actions to the remote host computer.
18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to cause the communications interface to transmit a signal encoding data representative of the game play actions by the user to the remote host computer system for detection thereby based on the data representative of game play actions of at least one triggering event representative of actual or potential collusion or cheating by the user in the electronic game.
19 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to cause the communications interface to receive a signal encoding data representative of instructions for the at least one processor to execute to implement the one or more game control actions responsive to detection of the at least one triggering event by the remote host computer.
20 . A gaming application comprising program instructions stored on one or more non-transitory computer readable media, wherein when executed by one or more processors to facilitate play of an electronic game, the program instructions direct a machine to:
access a gaming application for the electronic game; receive data representative of a location of an electronic display device of, or associated with, the machine; responsive to the gaming application being accessed, cause a graphical user interface (GUI) for play of the electronic game to be displayed on the electronic display device; cause data representative of game play actions by a player of the electronic game to be relayed, via the GUI, to the gaming application; and implement a computerized policy based at least in part on the location to prevent cheating or unauthorized collusion by the player in the electronic game, wherein the computerized policy directs one or more game control actions responsive to a presence or absence of cheating or unauthorized collusion by the player being detected in the electronic game.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
