Dynamically reconfigurable data collection agent for fracking pump asset
Abstract
A scalable industrial asset management system dynamically negotiates allocation of mobile industrial assets to industrial operation sites. The asset management system tracks and models the capabilities and availabilities of a pool of mobile industrial assets (e.g., truck-mounted assets or other such assets). Based on a defined demand of a scheduled industrial operation requiring mobile industrial assets (e.g., a fracking operation, a mining operation, etc.) the system selects a subset of the mobile industrial assets that are both available during the scheduled operation and are collectively capable of satisfying the demands of the industrial operation. Moreover, based on the asset models for the subset of mobile industrial assets, the system configures an on-premise cloud agent device to collect telemetry data from the mobile assets during the operation and to migrate the collected data to a cloud-based collection and analytics system.

9 . A method for processing industrial data from industrial assets, comprising:
identifying, by a system comprising a processor, one or more mobile assets that are selected for an industrial operation; retrieving, by the system, one or more asset models from a library of asset models, each of the one or more asset models corresponding to a respective selected mobile asset; generating, by the system, manifest data by including data obtained from the one or more asset models, wherein the manifest data identifies available telemetry data points for each selected mobile asset; collecting, by the system, industrial data from the one or more selected mobile assets according to the manifest data; compressing, by the system, the industrial data into a compressed data file; generating, by the system, one or more data packets using the compressed data file and the manifest data; and transferring, by the system, the one or more data packets to a cloud platform.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the manifest data identifies, for each telemetry data point,
a communication path to a data storage device associated with the corresponding selected mobile asset; and a data tag on the data storage device containing the value of the telemetry data point.
11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the manifest data is generated based on a fracking station model that includes information relating to the fracking station at which the system resides, wherein the information comprises a customer identifier, a site identifier, telemetry of one or more fixed assets, telemetry of a mobile asset defined by the fracking station model.
12 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the one or more mobile assets are identified by receiving one or more asset identifiers identifying the one or more mobile assets participating in the industrial operation.
13 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising tagging one or more data items within the compressed data file with at least one of a time indicator, a quality indicator, an asset state indicator, or a personnel identifier.
14 . The method of claim 9 , wherein each of the one or more data packets is generated by adding a header to the compressed data file.
15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the header comprises at least one of a customer identifier, a site identifier, a virtual support engineer identifier, a data priority for the data items in the compressed data file, a message type, or a process identifier.
16 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:
retrieving, by the system, from a message queuing database, priority data indicating a processing priority; and generating, by the system, the one or more data packets according to the priority.
17 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored thereon instructions that, in response to execution, cause a system comprising a processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:
identifying one or more mobile assets that are selected for an industrial operation; retrieving one or more asset models from a library of asset models, each of the one or more asset models corresponding to a respective selected mobile asset; generating manifest data by including data obtained from the one or more asset models, wherein the manifest data identifies available telemetry data points for each selected mobile asset; collecting industrial data from the one or more selected mobile assets according to the manifest data; compressing the industrial data into a compressed data file; generating one or more data packets using the compressed data file and the manifest data; and transferring the one or more data packets to a cloud platform.
