Abstract

In various embodiments, an electrical interface allows a player at a casino to connect a personal computing device and to engage in licensed gaming activities using the personal computing device.

         2 . A mobile computing device comprising:
 at least one processor configured to control:
 transmitting, over a communication network, an indication of a unique identifier associated with the mobile computing device; 
 receiving, over the communication network, from a remote computing device, verification data indicating the mobile computing device is eligible to access gaming activities provided over the communication network, in which the verification data is determined based on the unique identifier; 
 when the remote computing device is eligible to access the gaming activities, transmitting, over the communication network, location information updating a current location of the mobile computing device; 
 receiving, over the communication network, from the remote computing device, authorization data indicating that the mobile computing device is allowed to access the gaming activities, in which the authorization data is received while the mobile computing device is determined to be in an authorized area based on the current location indicated by the location information; 
 while the authorization data is being received,
 initiating an electronic game with the remote computing device; 
 receiving, over the communication network, from the remote computing device, data representing an encrypted sequence of random events; and 
 executing commands to play the electronic game using data representing unencrypted random events, provided by the remote computing device; 
 
 once play of the electronic game is completed, requesting over the communication network, from the remote computing device, an encryption key; 
 decoding the encrypted sequence of random events using the encryption key; and 
 comparing (a) the decoded encrypted sequence of random events to (b) the unencrypted random events, to verify execution of the electronic game. 
   
     
     
         3 . The mobile computing device of  claim 2 , in which the at least one processor is configured to control determining whether the execution of the electronic game was fair based on results of the comparing. 
     
     
         4 . The mobile computing device of  claim 2 , in which the at least one processor is configured to control selecting one game from a plurality of games provided by the remote computing device. 
     
     
         5 . The mobile computing device of  claim 2 , in which the at least one processor is configured to control sending a command indicating play of the game is completed to the remote computing device. 
     
     
         6 . The mobile computing device of  claim 2 , in which the at least one processor is configured to control sending to remote computing device a command indicating failure of a verification based on whether a result of the comparing is the decoded encrypted sequence of random events is not identical to the unencrypted random events. 
     
     
         7 . The mobile computing device of  claim 2 , in which the at least one processor is configured to control sending the remote computing device a command indicating success of a verification based on whether a result of the comparing is the decoded encrypted sequence of random events is identical to the unencrypted random events. 
     
     
         8 . The mobile computing device of  claim 2 , wherein the electronic game is a digital representation of a given game and each of the events represents an action to occur during the given game. 
     
     
         9 . A non-transitory medium configured to store thereon a plurality of instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a mobile computing device, control:
 transmitting, over a communication network, an indication of a unique identifier associated with the mobile computing device;   receiving, over the communication network, from a remote computing device, verification data indicating the mobile computing device is eligible to access gaming activities provided over the communication network, in which the verification data is determined based on the unique identifier;   when the remote computing device is eligible to access the gaming activities, transmitting, over the communication network, location information updating a current location of the mobile computing device;   receiving, over the communication network, from the remote computing device, authorization data indicating that the mobile computing device is allowed to access the gaming activities, in which the authorization data is received while the mobile computing device is determined to be in an authorized area based on the current location indicated by the location information;   while the authorization data is being received,
 initiating an electronic game with the remote computing device;
 receiving, over the communication network, from the remote computing device, data representing an encrypted sequence of random events; and 
 executing commands to play the electronic game using data representing unencrypted random events, provided by the remote computing device; 
 
   once play of the electronic game is completed, requesting over the communication network, from the remote computing device, an encryption key;   decoding the encrypted sequence of random events using the encryption key; and   comparing (a) the decoded encrypted sequence of random events to (b) the unencrypted random events to verify execution of the electronic game.   
     
     
         10 . The non-transitory medium of  claim 9 , in which the instructions, when executed by at least one processor, control determining whether the execution of the electronic game was fair based on results of the compare. 
     
     
         11 . The non-transitory medium of  claim 9 , in which the instructions, when executed by at least one processor, control selecting one game from a plurality of games provided by the remote computing device. 
     
     
         12 . The non-transitory medium of  claim 9 , in which the instructions, when executed by at least one processor, control sending a command indicating play of the game is completed to the remote computing device.

The non-transitory medium of  claim 9 , in which the instructions, when executed by at least one processor, control sending to the remote computing device a command indicating failure of a verification based on whether a result of the comparing is the decoded encrypted sequence of random events is not identical to the unencrypted random events.

The non-transitory medium of  claim 9 , in which the instructions, when executed by at least one processor, control sending to the remote computing device a command indicating success of a verification based on whether a result of the comparing is the decoded encrypted sequence of random events is identical to the unencrypted random events. 
     
     
         15 . The non-transitory medium of  claim 9 , wherein the electronic game is a digital representation of a given game and each of the events represents an action to occur during the given game. 
     
     
         16 . A method comprising:
 controlling, by at least one processor of a mobile computing device configured to control:
 transmitting, over a communication network, an indication of a unique identifier associated with the mobile computing device; 
 receiving, over the communication network, from a remote computing device, verification data indicating the mobile computing device is eligible to access gaming activities provided over the communication network, in Which the verification data is determined based on the unique identifier; 
 when the remote computing device is eligible to access the gaming activities, transmitting, over the communication network, location information updating a current location of the mobile computing device; 
 receiving, over the communication network, from the remote computing device, authorization data indicating that the mobile computing device is allowed to access the gaming activities, in which the authorization data is received while the mobile computing device is determined to be in an authorized area based on the current location indicated by the location information; 
 while the authorization data is being received,
 initiating an electronic game with the remote computing device; 
 receiving, over the communication network, from the remote computing device, data representing an encrypted sequence of random events; and 
 executing commands to play the electronic game using data representing unencrypted random events, provided by the remote computing device; 
 
 once play of the electronic game is completed, requesting over the communication network, from the remote computing device, an encryption key; 
 decoding the encrypted sequence of random events using the encryption key; and 
 comparing (a) the decoded encrypted sequence of random events to (b) the unencrypted random events to verify execution of the electronic game. 
   
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 16 , further comprising controlling, by the at least one processor, determining whether the execution of the electronic game was fair based on results of the comparing. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 16 , further comprising controlling, by the at least one processor, selecting one game from a plurality of games provided by the remote computing device. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 16 , further comprising controlling, by the at least one processor, sending a command indicating play of the game is completed to the remote computing device.

The method of  claim 16 , further comprising controlling, by the at least one processor, sending to the remote computing device a command indicating failure of a verification based on whether a result of the comparing is the decoded encrypted sequence of random events is not identical to the unencrypted random events.
