Abstract

Fast-aiding radio access network intelligent controllers (RICs) can assist other RICs that are experiencing performance issues. The system can take into account the availability of other RICs that can aid the RIC needing assistance. Therefore, multiple RICs cooperatively working together can generate synergies, and allow differentiated RICs to operate in both predefined and/or dynamically create RIC groups. Once a RIC that needs assistance is identified, other RICs can offload functionalities that are less important than the functionality of the RIC that is experiencing the performance issues. After the assisting RIC has offloaded its functionalities, it can then devote resources to the RIC that needs the assistance.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . First network equipment, comprising:
 a processor; and   a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:
 receiving processing transfer request data from second network equipment; 
 in response to receiving the processing transfer request data, selecting third network equipment for a transfer a processing capability corresponding to the processing transfer request data; 
 based on selecting the third network equipment for the transfer of the processing capability, transferring the processing capability to the third network equipment; and 
 based on transferring the processing capability, undertaking a processing function on behalf of the second network equipment. 
   
     
     
         2 . The first network equipment of  claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise, based on undertaking the processing function, generating report data representative of an outcome of having undertaken the processing function. 
     
     
         3 . The first network equipment of  claim 2 , wherein the operations further comprise, based on generating the report data, sending the report data to the second network equipment. 
     
     
         4 . The first network equipment of  claim 1 , wherein undertaking the processing function is based on a location of the second network equipment. 
     
     
         5 . The first network equipment of  claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise, in response to an outcome associated with the processing function being determined to have been achieved, transferring the processing function back to the second network equipment. 
     
     
         6 . The first network equipment of  claim 5 , wherein the operations further comprise, in response to transferring the processing function back to the second network equipment, requesting the processing capability from the third network equipment. 
     
     
         7 . The first network equipment of  claim 6 , wherein the operations further comprise, in response to requesting the processing capability from the third network equipment, receiving the processing capability from the third network equipment. 
     
     
         8 . A method, comprising:
 in response to a threshold amount of time being determined to have elapsed, prompting, by first controller equipment, second controller equipment to initiate performance of a first processing task of the first controller equipment, wherein the threshold amount of time is associated with a failed communication;   based on prompting the second controller equipment, directing, by the first controller equipment, the second controller equipment to offload a second processing task to third controller equipment; and   based on offloading the second processing task, facilitating, by the first controller equipment, the performance of the first processing task by the second controller equipment.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 8 , further comprising, in response to the threshold amount of time being determined to have elapsed, flagging, by the first controller equipment, the first controller equipment as reduced capacity controller equipment. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the performance of the first processing task is a first performance, and wherein the method further comprises, facilitating, by the first controller equipment, a second performance of a third processing task of the first controller equipment by fourth controller equipment. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the first controller equipment, the second controller equipment, and the third controller equipment are part of a group of controller equipment. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the group of controller equipment is defined based on a proximity between the controller equipment of the group. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the performance of the first processing task of the first controller equipment is based on a defined time for the performance of the first processing task by the second controller equipment. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 8 , further comprising, in response to facilitating the performance of the first processing task of the first controller equipment by the second controller equipment, generating, by the first controller equipment, report data representative of controller equipment utilized to facilitate the performance of the first processing task. 
     
     
         15 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processor of a first radio access network controller device, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:
 in response to a threshold amount of time being determined to have elapsed, prompting a second radio access network controller device to initiate a first task of the first radio access network controller device, wherein the threshold amount of time is associated with a failed communication;   based on prompting the second radio access network controller device, directing the second radio access network controller device to offload a second task to a third radio access network controller device; and   based on offloading the second task, facilitating the first task being performed by the second radio access network controller device.   
     
     
         16 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise, in response to the threshold amount of time being determined to have elapsed, flagging the first radio access network controller device as a reduced capacity radio access network controller device. 
     
     
         17 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise, facilitating, by the first radio access network controller device, a third task of the first radio access network controller device being performed by a fourth radio access network controller device. 
     
     
         18 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 15 , wherein the first radio access network controller device, the second radio access network controller device, and the third radio access network controller device are part of a group of radio access network controller devices. 
     
     
         19 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 18 , wherein the group of radio access network controller devices is defined based on a proximity between the radio access network controller devices of the group. 
     
     
         20 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 15 , wherein the first task of the first radio access network controller device is based on a defined time for completion of the first task by the second radio access network controller device.
