Abstract
A more efficient exercise system can be facilitated by interactive components. The interactive components can communicate with mobile devices, users, server devices, weight lifting machines, etc. The interactive components can also generate exercise data and provide prompts to a user to facilitate a more efficient workout. Additionally, third-parties can receive user workout data and manipulate, or provide guidance to the user to manipulate, exercise equipment remotely to assist a user in attaining his or her goals.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A first apparatus physically attachable to a barbell, comprising:
a pressure sensor configured to sense pressure when a pressure is exerted on an area of the barbell via the first apparatus; an accelerometer configured to generate acceleration data associated with a motion of the first apparatus in relation to the barbell; a gyroscope configured to generate orientation data associated with an orientation of the first apparatus in relation to the barbell; a receiver configured to receive a first wireless signal from a mobile device in response to the mobile device being determined to be a defined distance from the first apparatus, wherein the defined distance is associated with a first zone of communication that is less than a communication range of the first apparatus; and a transceiver configured to transmit a second wireless signal comprising verification data, representative of a verification that a user associated with the mobile device is using the barbell, to the mobile device, to distinguish the first apparatus from a second apparatus, wherein a second zone of communication associated with the second apparatus overlaps the first zone of communication, and wherein the accelerometer, the gyroscope, the receiver, and the transceiver are within a protective housing of the first apparatus.
2 . The first apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the defined distance is a preset distance defined by the user.
3 . The first apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
a verification component configured to verify the user in response to receiving the first wireless signal from the mobile device and pressure data from the pressure sensor.
4 . The first apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the defined distance is a preset distance defined by a third-party mobile device.
5 . The first apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the defined distance is based on a workout regimen.
6 . The first apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
a distance sensor configured to generate distance data based on a distance of the first apparatus from a floor, wherein the distance data is representative of a range of motion associated with the barbell.
7 . The first apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the defined distance generates a non-circular first zone of communication.
8 . The first apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
a gyroscope configured to generate orientation data based on an orientation of the barbell as the orientation relates to the first apparatus that has been attached to the barbell.
9 . The first apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the defined distance causes the first communication zone to be an equidistant communication zone from the center of the barbell, wherein the first apparatus is physically attached to a non-center location of the barbell.
10 . The first apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
an altimeter configured to generate altitude data associated with an altitude of the apparatus.
11 . An apparatus physically attachable to an exercise equipment, comprising:
a pressure sensor configured to sense a pressure applied to a pad of the exercise equipment, wherein the pressure is indicative of a resistance to be experienced by the first user; an accelerometer configured to generate acceleration data associated with a motion of the apparatus in relation to the exercise equipment; an altimeter configured to generate altitude data associated with an altitude of the apparatus in relation to the exercise equipment; a receiver configured to receive a first wireless signal from a first mobile device, of a first user, in response to the first mobile device being determined to be a defined distance from the apparatus, wherein the defined distance is based on a communication zone, applicable to the apparatus that is less than a communication range of the apparatus; and a transceiver configured to transmit, to the first mobile device, a second wireless signal, wherein the second wireless signal comprises resistance data representative of the resistance to be experienced by the first user, to distinguish the first user of the first mobile device from a second user of a second mobile device that is within the communication zone, and wherein the pressure sensor, the accelerometer, the altimeter, the receiver, and the transceiver are disposed within a protective housing of the apparatus.
12 . The apparatus of claim 11 , further comprising:
an infrared sensor configured to generate distance data based on a distance of the apparatus from a reference point, wherein the distance data is representative of a range of motion associated with the exercise equipment.
13 . The apparatus of claim 11 , further comprising:
a gyroscope configured to generate orientation data based on an orientation of the apparatus in relation to the exercise equipment.
14 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the defined distance is preset by the first user, and wherein the defined distance causes the communication zone to be an equidistant communication zone, equidistant from the center of the exercise equipment, wherein the apparatus is physically attached to a non-center location of the exercise equipment.
15 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the exercise equipment is a plate loaded exercise machine.
16 . A first apparatus physically attachable to a first dumbbell, comprising:
an accelerometer configured to generate acceleration data associated with a motion of the first apparatus in relation to the first dumbbell; a gyroscope configured to generate orientation data associated with an orientation of the first apparatus in relation to the first dumbbell; an altimeter configured to generate altitude data associated with an altitude of the first apparatus in relation to the first dumbbell; a receiver configured to receive a first wireless signal from a mobile device in response to the mobile device being determined to be a defined distance from the first apparatus, wherein the defined distance is associated with a first zone of communication that is less than a communication range of the first apparatus; and a transceiver configured to transmit a second wireless signal comprising verification data, representative of a verification that a user associated with the mobile device is using the first dumbbell, to the mobile device, to distinguish the first apparatus from a second apparatus attached to a second dumbbell, wherein a second zone of communication associated with the second apparatus overlaps the first zone of communication, and wherein the accelerometer, the gyroscope, the altimeter, the receiver, and the transceiver are within a protective housing of the first apparatus.
17 . The first apparatus of claim 16 , further comprising:
an inductor configured to facilitate wireless charging of the first apparatus.
18 . The first apparatus of claim 16 , wherein the receiver receives a third wireless signal from the second apparatus indicative of the user using the second apparatus.
19 . The first apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the transceiver sends a fourth signal to the mobile device, indicative of the user using the second apparatus, in response to receiving the third wireless signal from the second apparatus.
20 . The first apparatus of claim 16 , wherein the verification data is first verification data, and wherein the receiver is configured to receive second verification data from the second apparatus indicative of the user using the second dumbbell.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
