Abstract
Methods and systems for managing data and/or operations on data such as content are disclosed. A method can comprise receiving data from a source, determining timing information associated with the source and automatically modifying a storage operation of data received from the source based upon the timing information.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method comprising:
receiving, by a computing device, a request for a storage operation for a content item; determining, based on the content item, a scheduled end time for the content item; determining, based on a content type and the scheduled end time, that the content item will continue past the scheduled end time for the content item; and sending, to a recipient device, an instruction configured to cause the recipient device to modify, based on determining the content item will continue past the scheduled end time, a time of the storage operation for the content item.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the time of the storage operation comprises at least one of the scheduled end time for the content item or a scheduled duration for the content item.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the content type comprises at least one of a live event, a sporting event, a concert, or a political debate.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining that the content item will continue past the scheduled end time for the content item comprises:
determining the scheduled end time for the content item is approaching; and determining, based on the scheduled end time approaching, an event associated with the content item is in progress.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining that the content item will continue past the scheduled end time for the content item comprises:
determining the scheduled end time for the content item has occurred; and determining, based on the scheduled end time occurring, an event associated with the content item is in progress.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the event comprises at least one of a live event, a sporting event, a concert, or a political debate.
7 . A method comprising:
receiving, by a computing device, a request for a storage operation for a content item; determining, based on the content item, a scheduled start time for the content item; determining, based on a content type and the scheduled start time, that the content item will begin before the scheduled start time for the content item; and sending, to a recipient device, an instruction configured to cause the recipient device to modify, based on determining the content item will begin before the scheduled start time, a time of the storage operation for the content item.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the time of the storage operation comprises the scheduled start time for the content item.
9 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the content type comprises at least one of a live event, a sporting event, a concert, or a political debate.
10 . The method of claim 7 , wherein determining that the content item will begin before the scheduled start time for the content item comprises:
determining the scheduled start time for the content item is approaching; and determining, based on the scheduled start time approaching, an event associated with the content item is in progress.
11 . The method of claim 7 , wherein determining that the content item will begin before the scheduled start time for the content item comprises:
determining that a plurality of prior content items associated with the content item have begun prior to a corresponding plurality of historical start times for the plurality of prior content items; and determining, based on the plurality of prior content items beginning prior to the corresponding plurality of historical start times for the plurality of prior content items, the content item will begin before the scheduled start time for the content item.
12 . The method of claim 7 , wherein modifying the time of the storage operation comprises modifying one or more of a recording start-time, a recording end-time, or a recording duration.
13 . A method comprising:
receiving, by a computing device, a request for a storage operation for a content item; determining, based on the content item, timing information for the content item; and sending, to a recipient device, an instruction to cause the recipient device to modify, based on the timing information for the content item, a time of the storage operation.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the timing information for the content comprises a start time for the content item, and wherein the instruction is configured to cause the recipient device to modify a recording start time of the storage operation for the content item.
15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the timing information comprises an end time for the content item, and wherein the instruction is configured to cause the recipient device to modify a recording end time of the storage operation for the content item.
16 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the timing information comprises an end time for the content item, and wherein the instruction is configured to cause the recipient device to modify a recording duration of the storage operation for the content item.
17 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising:
determining, based on the timing information, a scheduled end time for the content item; and determining, based on the scheduled end time for the content item, that the content item will continue past the scheduled end time, wherein the instruction is configured to cause the recipient device to modify a recording end time of the storage operation for the content item.
18 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising:
determining, based on the timing information, a scheduled duration for the content item; and determining, based on the scheduled duration, that the content item will continue past a scheduled end time for the content item, wherein the instruction is configured to cause the recipient device to modify a recording duration of the storage operation for the content item.
19 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising:
determining, based on a content type and a scheduled end time of the timing information, that the content item will continue past the scheduled end time for the content item, wherein the instruction is configured to cause the recipient device to modify at least one of a recording end time or a recording duration of the storage operation for the content item.
20 . The method of claim 13 , wherein modifying the time of the storage operation comprises modifying one or more of a recording start-time, a recording end-time, or a recording duration.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
