Abstract

A mechanized toy sword, automated and configured to extend, retract, produce sound effects, produce vibration effects and illuminate the blade during blade extension and remains illuminated until fully retracted to offer a more realistic representation of a sword made of light.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A toy sword, comprising:
 a telescopic retractable-collapsible blade contained within a hilt or handle in the stored position, wherein at least two translucent or transparent blade sections, one being an uppermost blade section that comes to a point and one being a lower blade section are configured to slide freely to a stopping point and are held in a stored position with an integrated auto-locking blade retraction catch; and, a CO2 high pressure chamber fitted with a pressure release valve and configured for use with replaceable CO2 cartridges that will propel the at least two translucent or transparent blade sections to an extended position and produce the spring tension needed to retract the at least two translucent or transparent blade sections to a stored position; and a blade retraction cord attached to the point of the uppermost blade section at one end, and to a spring recoil mounted in the hilt at the other end that will utilize the spring tension produced during blade extension to retract the at least two translucent or transparent blade sections to a stored position when an integrated auto-locking blade retraction catch that prevents the recoil from turning is released; and an integrated lighting system configured to illuminate the at least two translucent or transparent blade sections during blade extension and remains illuminated until blade sections are fully retracted; and, an integrated sound effects system configured to activate during blade extension and deactivate when blade sections are fully retracted; and, an integrated mechanical device that produces vibrations configured to activate during swordplay to enhance user experience; and, at least one multi-function activation switch configured to release the auto-locking blade retraction catch that holds the at least two translucent or transparent blade sections in a stored position and/or open a Co2 pressure release valve to release a controlled amount of pressurized CO2 to extend the at least two translucent or transparent blade sections and/or activate/deactivate the integrated lighting system and/or activate/deactivate the integrated sound effects system and/or activate/deactivate the integrated mechanical device that produces vibrations.

         2 . (canceled)

         3 . (canceled)

         4 . (canceled)

         5 . A toy sword, comprising;
 a telescopic retractable-collapsible blade contained within a hilt or handle in the stored position, wherein at least two translucent or transparent blade sections, one being an uppermost blade section that comes to a point and one being a lower blade section are configured to slide freely to a stopping point and are held in the stored position with an integrated auto-locking blade retraction catch; and, a spring-loaded retractable mechanism attached to the uppermost blade section at one end and to the hilt or handle on the other end, configured with a blade retraction cord connected to the point of the uppermost blade section at one end and to a spool connected to an integrated electric motor contained in the hilt or handle at the other end configured to retract the at least two translucent or transparent blade sections to a stored position; and, an integrated lighting system configured to illuminate the at least two translucent or transparent blade sections during blade extension and remains illuminated until blade sections are fully retracted; and, an integrated sound effects system configured to activate during blade extension and deactivate when blade sections are fully retracted; and, an integrated mechanical device that produces vibrations, configured to activate during sword play to enhance user experience; and, at least one multi-function activation switch configured to release the auto-locking blade retraction catch that holds the at least two translucent or transparent blade sections in a stored position, therefore extending the blade sections and/or activate/deactivate the integrated lighting system configured to illuminate the blade sections and/or activate/deactivate the integrated sound effects system and/or activate/deactivate the integrated mechanical device that produces vibrations and/or activate/deactivate the integrated electric motor configured to retract the at least two translucent or transparent blade sections.

         6 . A toy sword, comprising;
 a telescopic retractable-collapsable blade contained within a hilt or handle in the stored position, wherein at least two translucent or transparent blade sections, one being an uppermost blade section that comes to a point and one being a lower blade section, are configured to slide freely to a stopping point and are held in the stored position with an integrated auto-locking blade retraction catch; and, an integrated electric motor within the hilt or handle, fitted with a spool and blade retraction cord attached to the point of the uppermost blade section and configured to retract the at least two translucent or transparent blade sections to a stored position while stretching an elastomer e.g. rubberbands connecting a blade section to the blade section immediately below it and producing the elastic tension that will propel blade sections to an extended position when an integrated auto-locking blade retraction catch that holds blade sections in a stored position is released; and, an integrated lighting system configured to illuminate the at least two translucent or transparent blade sections during blade extension and remain illuminated until blade sections are fully retracted; and, an integrated sound effects system configured to activate during blade extension and deactivate when blade sections are fully retracted; and, an integrated mechanical device that produces vibrations configured to activate during sword play to enhance user experience; and, at least one multi-function activation switch configured to release an auto-locking blade retraction catch that holds the at least two translucent or transparent blade sections in a stored position and/or activate/deactivate the integrated lighting system and/or activate/deactivate the integrated sound effects system and/or activate/deactivate the mechanical device that produces vibrations and/or activate/deactivate the integrated electric motor configured to retract blade sections to a stored position.

         7 . The toy sword of claim 6 wherein elastic tension is utilized to extend a retractable mechanism associated with a toy sword by stretching an elastomer e.g. rubberbands with an integrated secondary device and storing the elastic tension with an integrated auto-locking catch configured with a release mechanism.
