Abstract

A set of glenoid components a first glenoid component of a first type and of a first size and a second glenoid component of a second type and of the first size. The first glenoid component includes a first body including a first joint surface and a first bearing surface disposed oppose the first joint surface. The first joint surface has a first dimension. A first anchor extends from a central region of the first bearing surface. The second glenoid component includes a second body including a second joint surface and a second bearing surface disposed opposite the second joint surface. The second joint surface having a second dimension that is the same as the first dimension. A second anchor extends from a central region of the second bearing surface.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A set of glenoid components for use in a shoulder joint, the set comprising:
 a first glenoid component, the first glenoid component including
 a first joint surface configured to engage at least one of a prosthetic humeral head or a natural humeral head, the first joint surface having a first radius of curvature, 
 a first bearing surface disposed opposite the first joint surface, the first bearing surface configured to engage a surface of a glenoid, and 
 a first anchor extending from the first bearing surface; and 
   a second glenoid component, the second glenoid component including
 a second joint surface configured to engage at least one of a prosthetic humeral head or a natural humeral head, the second joint having a second radius of curvature, 
 a second bearing surface disposed opposite the second joint surface, the second bearing surface configured to engage a surface of a glenoid, and 
 a second anchor extending from the second bearing surface, 
   wherein the first radius of curvature is the same as the second radius of curvature, and   wherein a first dimension of the first glenoid component is different from a second dimension of the second glenoid component.   
     
     
         2 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 1 , wherein the first dimension of the first glenoid component is a thickness, and wherein the second dimension of the second glenoid component is a thickness. 
     
     
         3 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 2 , wherein a radius of curvature of the first bearing surface and a radius of curvature of the second bearing surface are the same. 
     
     
         4 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 2 , wherein a radius of curvature of the first bearing surface and a radius of curvature of the second bearing surface are different. 
     
     
         5 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 1 , wherein the first dimension of the first glenoid component is a radius of curvature of the first bearing surface and the second dimension of the second glenoid component is a radius of curvature of the second bearing surface. 
     
     
         6 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 1 , wherein the first anchor extends from a central region of the first bearing surface. 
     
     
         7 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 6 , wherein the second anchor extends from a central region of the second bearing surface. 
     
     
         8 . A set of glenoid components for use in a shoulder joint, the set comprising:
 a first glenoid component, the first glenoid component including
 a first joint surface having a first radius of curvature, 
 a first bearing surface disposed opposite the first joint surface, the first bearing surface having a third radius of curvature, and 
 a first anchor extending from a central region of the first bearing surface; and 
   a second glenoid component, the second glenoid component including
 a second joint surface having a second radius of curvature, 
 a second bearing surface disposed opposite the second joint surface, the second bearing having a fourth radius of curvature, and 
 a second anchor extending from a central region of the second bearing surface, 
   wherein the first radius of curvature is the same as the second radius of curvature, and   wherein a first dimension of the first glenoid component is different from a second dimension of the second glenoid component.   
     
     
         9 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 8 , wherein the first dimension of the first glenoid component is a distance between the first joint surface and the first bearing surface. 
     
     
         10 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 9 , wherein the second dimension of the first glenoid component is a distance between the second joint surface and the second bearing surface. 
     
     
         11 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 8 , wherein the first radius of curvature is different from the third radius of curvature. 
     
     
         12 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 11 , wherein the second radius of curvature is different from the fourth radius of curvature. 
     
     
         13 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 11 , wherein the second radius of curvature is the same as the fourth radius of curvature. 
     
     
         14 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 8 , wherein the first radius of curvature and the third radius of curvature are concentric. 
     
     
         15 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 8 , wherein the first radius of curvature and the third radius of curvature are not concentric. 
     
     
         16 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 8 , wherein the first dimension corresponds to an edge-to-edge expanse of the first joint surface, and wherein the second dimension corresponds to an edge-to-edge expanse of the second joint surface. 
     
     
         17 . A set of glenoid components, comprising:
 a first glenoid component, the first glenoid component being of a first type and of a first size, the first glenoid component including:
 a first body including a first joint surface and a first bearing surface disposed oppose the first joint surface, the first joint surface having a first dimension, and 
 a first anchor extending from a central region of the first bearing surface; and 
   a second glenoid component, the second glenoid component being of a second type and of the first size, the second glenoid component including:
 a second body including a second joint surface and a second bearing surface disposed opposite the second joint surface, the second joint surface having a second dimension, and 
 a second anchor extending from a central region of the second bearing surface, 
   wherein the first dimension is the same as the second dimension.   
     
     
         18 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 17 , wherein the first dimension is a radius of curvature of the first joint surface, and wherein the second dimension is a radius of curvature of the second joint surface. 
     
     
         19 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 17 , further comprising a third glenoid component, the third glenoid component being of the first type and of a first size, the third glenoid component including:
 a third body including a third joint surface and a third bearing surface disposed oppose the third joint surface, the third joint surface having a third dimension, and   a third anchor extending from a central region of the third bearing surface.   
     
     
         20 . The set of glenoid components of  claim 19 , wherein the first bearing surface has a fourth dimension, the second bearing surface has a fifth dimension, and the third bearing surface has a sixth dimension, the fourth dimension is different from the fifth dimension and equal to the sixth dimension.
