Abstract

Methods and apparatus for efficient execution of modules are disclosed. An example apparatus includes at least one memory, instructions in the apparatus, and processor circuitry to execute the instructions to: generate a first module identifier of a first module, the first module having been instantiated by first instructions at least one of embedded in or linked by a first advertisement on a webpage, the first module to monitor presentation of the first advertisement on the webpage; load monitoring instructions structured to execute webpage monitoring functions to be utilized by the first module; communicate the first module identifier to an application message interface for retrieval by the monitoring instructions; and determine that a second module has communicated a second module identifier to the application message interface, the second module having been instantiated by second instructions at least one of embedded or linked by a second advertisement on the webpage and, in response to the determining that the second module identifier has been communicated: prevent the second module from loading the monitoring instructions; and communicate, via the first module, the second module identifier to the application message interface for retrieval by the monitoring instructions to instruct the monitoring instructions to communicate with the second module.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An apparatus comprising:
 at least one memory;   instructions in the apparatus; and   processor circuitry to execute the instructions to:   generate a first module identifier of a first module, the first module having been instantiated by first instructions at least one of embedded in or linked by a first advertisement on a webpage, the first module to monitor presentation of the first advertisement on the webpage;   load monitoring instructions structured to execute webpage monitoring functions to be utilized by the first module;   communicate the first module identifier to an application message interface for retrieval by the monitoring instructions; and   determine that a second module has communicated a second module identifier to the application message interface, the second module having been instantiated by second instructions at least one of embedded or linked by a second advertisement on the webpage and, in response to the determining that the second module identifier has been communicated:
 prevent the second module from loading the monitoring instructions; and 
 communicate, via the first module, the second module identifier to the application message interface for retrieval by the monitoring instructions to instruct the monitoring instructions to communicate with the second module. 
   
     
     
         2 . The apparatus as defined in  claim 1 , wherein the first module identifier and the second module identifier are at least one of random numbers or pseudorandom numbers. 
     
     
         3 . The apparatus as defined in  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first module or the second module communicates with the monitoring instructions by posting a message including at least one of the first module identifier or the second module identifier to the application message interface. 
     
     
         4 . The apparatus as defined in  claim 3 , wherein the application message interface includes a postMessage application programming interface. 
     
     
         5 . The apparatus as defined in  claim 3 , wherein the message includes an identification of the monitoring instructions. 
     
     
         6 . The apparatus as defined in  claim 5 , wherein the message includes delimiters, a message type, and a payload. 
     
     
         7 . The apparatus as defined in  claim 1 , wherein the monitoring instructions are a JavaScript script. 
     
     
         8 . The apparatus as defined in  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first module or the second module monitors presentation of the webpage by presenting a survey. 
     
     
         9 . The apparatus as defined in  claim 1 , wherein the processor circuitry executes instructions to determine if another module has loaded a component. 
     
     
         10 . The apparatus as defined in  claim 9 , wherein the processor circuitry executes instructions to at least one of load the component in response to determining that another module has not loaded the component or communicate with the other module to access the component when the other module has loaded the component. 
     
     
         11 . A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed, cause processor circuitry to at least:
 generate a first module identifier of a first module, the first module having been instantiated by first instructions at least one of embedded in or linked by a first advertisement on a webpage, the first module to monitor presentation of the first advertisement on the webpage;   load monitoring instructions structured to execute webpage monitoring functions to be utilized by the first module;   communicate the first module identifier to an application message interface for retrieval by the monitoring instructions; and   determine that a second module has communicated a second module identifier to the application message interface, the second module having been instantiated by second instructions at least one of embedded or linked by a second advertisement on the webpage and, in response to the determining that the second module identifier has been communicated:
 prevent the second module from loading the monitoring instructions; and 
 communicate, via the first module, the second module identifier to the application message interface for retrieval by the monitoring instructions to instruct the monitoring instructions to communicate with the second module. 
   
     
     
         12 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 11 , wherein the instructions, when executed, cause the processor circuitry to determine if another module has loaded a component. 
     
     
         13 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 12 , wherein the instructions, when executed, cause the processor circuitry to at least one of load the component in response to determining that another module has not loaded the component or communicate with the other module to access the component when the other module has loaded the component. 
     
     
         14 . A method comprising;
 generating, by a first module executing on a processor, a first module identifier, the first module having been instantiated by first instructions at least one of embedded in or linked by a first advertisement on a webpage, the first module to monitor presentation of the first advertisement on the webpage;   loading, by the first module executing on the processor, monitoring instructions structured to execute webpage monitoring functions to be utilized by the first module;   communicating the first module identifier to an application message interface for retrieval by the monitoring instructions;   determining, with the first module executing on the processor, that a second module having a second module identifier has communicated the second module identifier to the application message interface, the second module having been instantiated by second instructions at least one of embedded or linked by a second advertisement on the webpage; and   in response to the determining:
 preventing the second module from loading the monitoring instructions; and communicating, by the first module executing on the processor, the second module 
   
       identifier to the application message interface for retrieval by the monitoring instructions to instruct the monitoring instructions to communicate with the second module. 
     
     
         15 . The method as defined in  claim 14 , wherein at least one of the first module or the second module communicates with the monitoring instructions by posting a message including the first module identifier or the second module identifier, respectively, to the application message interface. 
     
     
         16 . The method as defined in  claim 14 , wherein determining, with the first module, that the second module has communicated the second module identifier to the application message interface includes monitoring the application message interface for a message from the second module, wherein the message includes an announcement that the second module has been loaded. 
     
     
         17 . The method as defined in  claim 14 , further including determining if a third module has communicated a third module identifier to the application message interface and determining if the third module has loaded the monitoring instructions. 
     
     
         18 . The method as defined in  claim 17 , wherein loading the monitoring instructions is performed in response to determining that the third module has not loaded the monitoring instructions. 
     
     
         19 . The method as defined in  claim 17 , further including communicating, by the first module, with the third module to access the monitoring instructions when the third module has loaded the monitoring instructions. 
     
     
         20 . The method as defined in  claim 14 , further including executing JavaScript to load at least one of the first module or the second module.
