Non-intrusive advertisement presentation
Abstract
Advertisements are often presented in the context of a media content viewing experience. Advertisement presentation may be intrusive or subtle. In many instances, users may be interested in particular advertisements but may not want to disrupt a media content viewing experience by launching an advertisement window, opening an advertisement application, or otherwise being redirected to another piece of content. Consequently, mechanisms are provided to allow a user to identify advertisements or save advertisement interests for presentation at a later time. Saved advertisement interests can be used to inform future advertisement and/or content suggestions, and the user can be presented with selected advertisements within an application or through external mechanisms.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 20 . (canceled)
21 . A method comprising:
playing a video program on a media device, wherein a plurality of secondary videos are inserted into the playing of the video program; during the playing of the video program, receiving user interface interactions that identify a subset of secondary videos; after an ending of the playing of the video program:
generating for display on the media device, a) a list of the identified subset of the secondary videos, and b) a sharing user interface element for sharing at least a portion of the subset of the secondary videos, wherein an interaction with the sharing user interface element causes a message to be sent to a second media device, the message identifying at least a portion of the subset of the secondary videos.
22 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising, blending the shared portion of the subset of the secondary videos within a content of a program displayed on the second media device.
23 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising, including the shared portion of the subset of the secondary videos at a periphery of a program window of a program displayed on the second media device.
24 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the secondary video may be selected from a group consisting of a video advertisement, a digital banner, or a digital billboard.
25 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising the second media device using an application to display the secondary videos, and the application is selected from a group consisting of a mobile application, browser/web application, computer application, set-top-box application, and Internet TV application.
26 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the message sent to the second media device is sent to one or more users of a social network.
27 . The method of claim 27 , further comprising, identifying the secondary videos as interesting to the users of the social network.
28 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the interaction with the sharing user interface element causing either a sharing of the secondary videos with the second media device or an identification of the secondary videos as interesting to the second media device.
29 . A system comprising:
circuitry configured to:
play a video program on a media device, wherein a plurality of secondary videos are inserted into the playing of the video program;
during the playing of the video program, receive user interface interactions that identify a subset of secondary videos;
after an ending of the playing of the video program:
generate for display on the media device, a) a list of the identified subset of the secondary videos, and b) a sharing user interface element for sharing at least a portion of the subset of the secondary videos, wherein an interaction with the sharing user interface element causes a message to be sent to a second media device, the message identifying at least a portion of the subset of the secondary videos.
30 . The system of claim 29 , further comprising, the circuitry configured to blend the shared portion of the subset of the secondary videos within a content of a program displayed on the second media device.
31 . The system of claim 29 , further comprising, the circuitry configured to include the shared portion of the subset of the secondary videos at a periphery of a program window of a program displayed on the second media device.
32 . The system of claim 29 , wherein the secondary video may be selected by the circuitry from a group consisting of a video advertisement, a digital banner, or a digital billboard.
33 . The system of claim 29 , further comprising the second media device using an application to display the secondary videos, and the application is selected from a group consisting of a mobile application, browser/web application, computer application, set-top-box application, and Internet TV application.
34 . The system of claim 29 , further comprising, the circuitry configured to add one or more secondary videos to the generated list of the identified subset of the secondary videos.
35 . The system of claim 29 , wherein the message sent to the second media device is sent by the circuitry to one or more users of a social network.
36 . The system of claim 29 , wherein the interaction with the sharing user interface element causing either a sharing of the secondary videos with the second media device or an identification of the secondary videos as interesting to the second media device.
37 . A non-transitory computer readable medium storing one or more instructions to be executed by a system including a processor and memory, the instructions comprising:
playing a video program on a media device, wherein a plurality of secondary videos are inserted into the playing of the video program; during the playing of the video program, receiving user interface interactions that identify a subset of secondary videos; after an ending of the playing of the video program:
generating for display on the media device, a) a list of the identified subset of the secondary videos, and b) a sharing user interface element for sharing at least a portion of the subset of the secondary videos, wherein an interaction with the sharing user interface element causes a message to be sent to a second media device, the message identifying at least a portion of the subset of the secondary videos.
38 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 37 , further comprising, either a) blending the shared portion of the subset of the secondary videos within a content of a program displayed on the second media device orb) including the shared portion of the subset of the secondary videos at a periphery of a program window of a program displayed on the second media device.
39 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 37 , wherein the secondary video may be selected from a group consisting of a video advertisement, a digital banner, or a digital billboard.
40 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 37 , wherein the interaction with the sharing user interface element causing either a sharing of the secondary videos with the second media device or an identification of the secondary videos as interesting to the second media device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
