Use of a h3r inverse agonist for the treatment of shift work disorder

Abstract

The invention relates to the use of a H3R inverse agonist for the treatment of shift work disorder.

1 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl 4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of shift work disorder. 
     
     
         2 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl 4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament being an agent modulating circadian rhythm dysfunctions due to shift work. 
     
     
         3 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl 4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of excessive sleepiness associated with shift work disorder. 
     
     
         4 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl 4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament for promoting wakefulness in a shift work disorder patient. 
     
     
         5 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl 4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of cognitive function impairment associated with shift work disorder; such as learning impairment, psychomotor function impairment, attention impairment, sustained attention impairment, working memory impairment, episodic memory impairment, executive function impairment, auditory information processing speed impairment, auditory information processing flexibility impairment, and calculation ability impairment, which are each associated with shift work disorder. 
     
     
         6 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl 4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament according to any one of  claims 1  to  5 , wherein 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl 4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered in the form of a pharmaceutical composition further comprising at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. 
     
     
         7 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl 4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament according to any one of  claims 1  to  6 , wherein 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl 4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered in combination with one or more further pharmaceutical active ingredient. 
     
     
         8 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl 4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament according to  claim 7 , wherein the further pharmaceutical active ingredient is a wakefulness-promoting agent. 
     
     
         9 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament according to  claim 8 , wherein the wakefulness-promoting agent is selected from the group consisting of modafinil, armodafinil, caffeine, methylphenidate, dextroamphetamine and sodium oxybate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. 
     
     
         10 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament according to  claim 8 , wherein the wakefulness-promoting agent is modafinil or armodafinil, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. 
     
     
         11 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament according to any one of  claims 1  to  10 , wherein 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate is administered in an amount of from 0.1 mg/day to 100 mg/day, in particular of from 1 mg/day to 50 mg/day, such as of from 2 mg/day to 10 mg/day, more particularly 5 mg/day. 
     
     
         12 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament according to any one of  claims 1  to  11 , wherein 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered to a sleepy insomniac shift work disorder patient or a sleepy non-insomniac shift work disorder patient. 
     
     
         13 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament according to any one of  claims 1  to  12 , wherein 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered orally. 
     
     
         14 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein shift work disorder is associated with night shift work, rotating shift work, evening shift work or early morning shift work, in particular, night shift work, such as permanent night shift work or rotating night shift work. 
     
     
         15 . Use of 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the manufacture of a medicament according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein shift work is night shift work, rotating shift work, evening shift work or early morning shift work, in particular, night shift work, such as permanent night shift work or rotating night shift work. 
     
     
         16 . A combination comprising 1-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridazin-3-yl)piperidin-4-yl 4-cyclobutylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and at least one active ingredient selected from the group consisting of modafinil, armodafinil, caffeine, methylphenidate, dextroamphetamine and sodium oxybate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
