Abstract

Systems and methods for thought object selection are disclosed. The system receives a request to rate a thought object from a participant device and receives one or more thought objects from a database. The system custom filters the one or more thought objects and upon the custom filter, generates one or more filtered thought objects. The system then calculates a thought object score for each of the one or more filtered thought objects and sends a first filtered thought object having the highest thought object score, of the one or more filtered thought objects, to a graphical user interface of the participant device.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A system for thought object selection, the system comprising:
 a thought object computer comprising a memory, a processor, and a plurality of programming instructions, the plurality of programming instructions stored in the memory, and when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:   receive, from a participant device, a request to rate a thought object;   receive one or more thought objects from a database;   custom filter the one or more thought objects;   upon the custom filter, generate one or more filtered thought objects;   calculate a thought object score for each of the one or more filtered thought objects; and   send a first filtered thought object having the highest thought object score, of the one or more filtered thought objects, to a graphical user interface of the participant device.   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein to calculate the thought object score, the plurality of programming instructions when further executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
 derive a numbers of ratings score from a number of ratings associated with a thought object of the one or more thought objects;   derive a high ratings score from one or more ratings associated with the thought object; and   associate an own thought objects score with a thought object, of the one or more thought objects, originating from the participant device.   
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein the number of ratings score is set to a first predetermined function of a total number of ratings received by a thought object to generate a value for the total number of ratings that is indicative of a quantified popularity of the thought object. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein the high ratings score is set to a second predetermined function of the total number of ratings received by a thought object, such that the predetermined function is lower than a threshold when the thought object is rated low overall and higher than a threshold when the thought object is rated high overall. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein the own thought objects score is set to a third predetermined function that varies with time, wherein the third predetermined function is set lower to a threshold value initially and is increased with time for each unique thought object received from the participant device. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein the thought score is a cumulative sum of the number of ratings score, the high ratings score, and the own thought objects score. 
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein the thought score is a product of the number of ratings score, the high ratings score, and the own thought objects score. 
     
     
         8 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein to custom filter the one or more thought objects, the plurality of programming instructions are further executed by the processor to generate the one or more filtered thought objects by removing one or more thought objects previously rated by the participant device. 
     
     
         9 . A computer-implemented method for thought object selection, the method comprising the steps of:
 receiving, by a thought object computer, from a participant device a request to rate a thought object;   receiving, by the thought object computer, one or more thought objects from a database;   custom filtering, by the thought object computer, the one or more thought objects;   upon the custom filter generating, by the thought object computer, one or more filtered thought objects;   calculating, by the thought object computer, a thought score for each of the one or more filtered thought objects;   sending, by the thought object computer, a first filtered thought object having the highest thought object score, of the one or more filtered thought objects, to a graphical user interface of the participant device.   
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the thought score is calculated, by the thought object computer, using multiple score values comprising:
 deriving a numbers of ratings score from a number of ratings associated with a thought object of the one or more thought objects;   deriving a high ratings score from one or more ratings associated with the thought object; and   associating an own thought objects score with a thought object, of the one or more thought objects, originating from the participant device.   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the number of ratings score is set, by the thought object computer, to a first predetermined function of a total number of ratings received by a thought object to generate a value for the total number of ratings that is indicative of a quantified popularity of the thought object.

The method of  claim 10 , wherein the high ratings score is set, by the thought object computer, to a second predetermined function of the total number of ratings received by a thought object, such that the predetermined function is lower than a threshold when the thought object is rated low overall and higher than a threshold when the thought object is rated high overall.

The method of  claim 10 , wherein the own thought objects score is set, by the thought object computer, to a third predetermined function that varies with time, wherein the third predetermined function is set lower to a threshold value initially and is increased with time for each unique thought object received from the participant device. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the thought score is a cumulative sum of the number of ratings score, the high ratings score, and the own thought objects score. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the thought score is a product of the number of ratings score, the high ratings score, and the own thought objects score. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein to custom filter the one or more thought objects, the method further comprising generating, by the thought object computer, the one or more filtered thought objects by removing one or more thought objects previously rated by the participant device.
