Abstract
A gaming system is disclosed that comprises a game controller that includes at least one processor and at least one memory device that are operably connected. The memory device(s) store computer-readable instructions for controlling the at least one processor to cause prize indicia to be displayed, each prize indicium corresponding to a spot prize awardable to a player, and cause a symbol array to be selected and displayed such that the symbol array and the prize indicia move relative to each other. The instructions also control the processor to select at least one spot prize corresponding to at least one prize indicium, determine at least one prize symbol to be added to the symbol array, corresponding to the respective selected at least one spot prize, and allocate a Wild function to the at least one added prize symbol. The instructions also control the processor to present the spot prize corresponding to the at least one added prize symbol, determine whether the symbol array corresponds to a winning outcome, and present a winning outcome prize if a winning outcome is determined to exist.

1 . An electronic gaming device comprising:
a display device; and at least one processor in communication with at least one memory device and the display device wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
receive an output from a random number generator (RNG);
determine a range of values, of a plurality of ranges of values stored in the at least one memory device, that corresponds to the output from the RNG;
based upon determining the range of values, determine to add at least one prize symbol to a symbol array displayed on the display device;
based upon determining to add at least one prize symbol to the symbol array, determine, based upon the range of values, which at least one prize symbol to add to the symbol array, wherein the at least one prize symbol is included in a plurality of prize symbols displayed in a prize symbol display area on the display device, and wherein each prize symbol of the plurality of prize symbols is associated with at least one spot prize;
cause the at least one prize symbol to be added to at least one symbol position of the symbol array;
before presentation of a game outcome corresponding to a feature game, cause the gaming device to present the at least one spot prize associated with the at least one prize symbol;
cause new symbols to be displayed at each symbol position of the symbol array different from the at least one symbol position including the at least one prize symbol, wherein the at least one prize symbol remains at the at least one symbol position;
determine, based upon the at least one prize symbol and the new symbols displayed in the symbol array, an outcome amount corresponding to the game outcome; and
cause the gaming device to present the outcome amount.
2 . The electronic gaming device of claim 1 , wherein the RNG is stored in the at least one memory device.
3 . The electronic gaming device of claim 2 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
receive a second RNG output from the RNG; determine locations of the prize symbols in the prize symbol display area based at least in part on the second RNG output, wherein the second RNG output is mapped to the locations by mapping ranges of potential output values from the RNG to the locations in the prize symbol display area and storing the mapped ranges in the at least one memory device; and cause the gaming device to display the prize symbols in the prize symbol display area at the determined locations.
4 . The electronic gaming device of claim 3 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
receive a third RNG output from the RNG; and cause the gaming device to move display of the symbol array and the plurality of prize symbols relative to each other based on the third RNG output.

The electronic gaming device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to, in response to selecting the at least one prize symbol, control the gaming device to display the at least one prize symbol being grabbed from the prize symbol display area, wherein the at least one prize symbol being grabbed from the prize symbol display area includes display of the at least one prize symbol flying from the prize symbol display area and landing on the symbol array.
6 . The electronic gaming device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
determine that a trigger condition is met in a base game; and in response to determining that the trigger condition is met, control the gaming device to display the symbol array moving into the prize symbol display area.
7 . The electronic gaming device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to determine the game outcome based upon a Wild function allocated to the at least one prize symbol and other symbols displayed in the symbol array.
8 . A system comprising at least one processor in communication with at least one memory device, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
analyze an output from a random number generator (RNG); determine a range of values, of a plurality of ranges of values stored in the at least one memory device, that the range of values maps to; in response to determining the range of values, determine to include at least one prize symbol in a symbol array; in response to determining to add at least one prize symbol to the symbol array, determine, based upon the range of values, which at least one prize symbol to include in the symbol array, wherein the at least one prize symbol is part of a plurality of prize symbols in a prize symbol area, and wherein each prize symbol of the plurality of prize symbols is associated with at least one spot prize; include the at least one prize symbol in at least one symbol position of the symbol array; separate from a game outcome corresponding to a feature game, cause presentation of the at least one spot prize associated with the at least one prize symbol; control subsequent symbols to be included at each symbol position of the symbol array different from the at least one symbol position including the at least one prize symbol, wherein the at least one prize symbol remains at the at least one symbol position when the subsequent symbols are included; determine, based upon the at least one prize symbol and subsequent symbols in the symbol array, an outcome amount corresponding to the game outcome; and cause presentation of the outcome amount.
9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the RNG is stored in the at least one memory device.
10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
receive a second RNG output from the RNG; select locations of the prize symbols in the prize symbol area based upon the second RNG output, wherein the second RNG output is mapped to the locations by mapping ranges of potential output values from the RNG to the locations in the prize symbol area and storing the mapped ranges in the at least one memory device; and manipulate the prize symbols in the prize symbol area based at least in part upon the selected locations.
11 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
receive a third RNG output from the RNG; and control the symbol array and the plurality of prize symbols to move relative to each other based on the third RNG output.

The system of claim 8 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to, in response to selecting the at least one prize symbol, cause the at least one prize symbol to be grabbed from the prize symbol area, wherein the at least one prize symbol being grabbed from the prize symbol area includes the at least one prize symbol flying from the prize symbol area and landing on the symbol array.
13 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
determine that a trigger condition is met in a base game; and in response to determining that the trigger condition is met, control the symbol array to move into the prize symbol area.
14 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to determine the game outcome based upon a Wild function allocated to the at least one prize symbol and other symbols in the symbol array.
15 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium with instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
obtain an output from a random number generator (RNG); based upon the output from the RNG, determine a range of values of a plurality of ranges of values stored in at least one memory device that corresponds to the output from the RNG; in response to determining the range of values, control addition of at least one prize symbol to a symbol array; based at least upon determining to add at least one prize symbol to the symbol array, select, based at least in part upon the range of values, which at least one prize symbol to add to the symbol array, wherein a plurality of prize symbols in a prize symbol area comprises the at least one prize symbol, and wherein each prize symbol of the plurality of prize symbols is associated with a spot prize; add the at least one prize symbol to at least one symbol position of the symbol array; control presentation of the spot prize associated with the at least one prize symbol; control new symbols to be added at each symbol position of the symbol array other than the at least one symbol position including the at least one prize symbol; select, based at least upon the at least one prize symbol and new symbols in the symbol array, an outcome amount corresponding to a game outcome; and control presentation of the outcome amount.
16 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to:
obtain a second RNG output from the RNG; determine locations of the prize symbols in the prize symbol area based at least in part on the second RNG output, wherein the second RNG output is mapped to the locations by mapping ranges of potential output values from the RNG to the locations in the prize symbol area and storing the mapped ranges in the at least one memory device; and control the prize symbols in the prize symbol area based at least in part upon the determined locations.
17 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to:
receive a third RNG output from the RNG; and cause the symbol array and the plurality of prize symbols to move relative to each other based on the third RNG output.
18 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to, in response to selecting the at least one prize symbol, control the at least one prize symbol to be grabbed from the prize symbol area.
19 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to:
determine that at least one trigger condition is met in a base game; and based upon determining that the at least one trigger condition is met, control the symbol array to move into the prize symbol area.
20 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to:
