Abstract
An article for use in a non-combustible aerosol provision system, the article comprising an aerosol generating material, a mouthpiece downstream of the aerosol generating material and a wrapper, wherein the wrapper comprises a sensate material. Also, a method of manufacturing the article and a system comprising the article and a device for heating the aerosol generating material.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An article for use in a non-combustible aerosol provision system, the article comprising an aerosol generating material, a mouthpiece downstream of the aerosol generating material and a wrapper, wherein the wrapper comprises a sensate material.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the wrapper is arranged to extend around at least a portion of the aerosol generating material and at least a portion of the mouthpiece of the article for use with an aerosol generation device.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the wrapper is arranged to extend around the aerosol generating material.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the wrapper comprises an inwardly facing surface and an outwardly facing surface, and wherein the sensate material is present on at least a portion of the inwardly facing surface and/or the outwardly facing surface of the wrapper.
. An article as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the inwardly facing surface and/or the outwardly facing surface of the wrapper comprises the sensate material in an amount of between about 0.02 g/m 2 and about 0.2 g/m 2 .
. An article as claimed in claim 4 , wherein less than 90% of a surface area of the inwardly facing surface and/or the outwardly facing surface comprises the sensate material.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the article for use with an aerosol generation device is arranged such that, when the aerosol generating material is heated to above about 200° C., a temperature of a portion of the wrapper closest to the aerosol generating material is at least about 60% higher than a temperature of a portion of the wrapper closest to the downstream end of the mouthpiece.
. An article as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the temperature of the portion of the wrapper closest to the downstream end of the mouthpiece is between about 30° C. and about 45° C.
. An article as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the temperature of the portion of wrapper closest to the aerosol generating material is up to about 300° C.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the wrapper is impregnated with the sensate material and/or wherein the sensate material is provided in an encapsulated form.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the sensate material comprises a flavorant.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a portion of the wrapper closest to the aerosol generating material or the downstream end of the mouthpiece comprises the sensate material and a portion of the wrapper closest to the other of the aerosol generating material and the downstream end of the mouthpiece does not comprise the sensate material.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the wrapper has a permeability of less than about 100 Coresta units.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the aerosol generating material comprises a tobacco component.
. An article as claimed in claim 14 , wherein the tobacco component comprises leaf tobacco in an amount of between about 10% and about 30% by weight of the tobacco component.
. An article as claimed in claim 14 , wherein the tobacco component comprises reconstituted tobacco material in an amount of between about 70% and about 90% by weight of the tobacco component.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the article for use with an aerosol generation device comprises a body of material located between the aerosol generating substrate and the downstream end of the mouthpiece.
. An article as claimed in claim 17 , wherein the body of material comprises an aerosol modifying agent disposed therein.
. An article as claimed in claim 18 , wherein the aerosol modifying agent comprises a flavorant.
. An article as claimed in claim 18 , wherein the aerosol modifying agent is encapsulated within a capsule.
. An article as claimed in claim 20 , wherein the body of material is in the form of a cylinder having a longitudinal axis, and wherein the capsule is embedded within the body of material such that the capsule is surrounded on all sides by the material forming the body, the capsule having a shell encapsulating a liquid aerosol modifying agent, and wherein the largest cross sectional area of the capsule measured perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis is less than 28% of the cross sectional area of the body of material measured perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis.
. An article as claimed in claim 20 , wherein a largest cross sectional area of the capsule measured perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis is less than 28% of the cross sectional area of the body of material.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the mouthpiece comprises a hollow tube.
. An article as claimed in claim 23 , wherein the hollow tube is formed from filamentary tow at the downstream end of the mouthpiece.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a pressure drop across the mouthpiece is less than 32 mmH2O.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the mouthpiece is connected to the aerosol generating substrate, and wherein the mouthpiece comprises a cavity having an internal volume greater than 450 mm 3 .
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a mass of the aerosol generating substrate is between about 250 mg and about 380 mg.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the sensate material comprises an aerosol modifying additive.
. An article as claimed in claim 28 , wherein the aerosol modifying additive is configured to volatilize upon heating.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the article for use with the aerosol generation device comprises reconstituted tobacco material having a density of less than about 700 mg/cc.
. An article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the article comprises an outer circumference of at least about 19 mm.
