Abstract
A method, apparatus and system enable indirect remote interaction with a web browser. In one embodiment, remote user gestures may be captured and processed to determine an action to be taken by the web browser.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 25 . (canceled)
26 . A mobile computer system comprising:
at least one touch-sensitive display; one or more processors communicatively coupled with one or more sensors and the at least one touch-sensitive display; and one or more machine-accessible storage media coupled with the one or more processors, wherein the one or more processors are to execute instructions stored by the one or more machine-accessible storage media to:
display an icon to notify a user that a non-touch-based gesture capability can be used to navigate a web page without touching the at least one touch-sensitive display;
receive sensor data based on a performed non-touch-based gesture;
translate the sensor data into a request to navigate the web page; and
send the request to a web browser to execute an action in accordance with the request.
27 . The mobile computer system of claim 26 , wherein the performed non-touch-based gesture is a movement of a hand with respect to the mobile computer system.
28 . The mobile computer system of claim 26 , wherein the performed non-touch-based gesture is a movement of a hand in a first horizontal direction with respect to the mobile computer system or a second horizontal direction with respect to the mobile computer system.
29 . The mobile computer system of claim 28 , wherein the request to navigate the web page is a request to page forward when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in the first horizontal direction.
30 . The mobile computer system of claim 28 , wherein the request to navigate the web page is a request to page backward when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in the second horizontal direction, wherein the second horizontal direction is opposite to the first horizontal direction.
31 . The mobile computer system of claim 28 , wherein the request to navigate the web page is a request to navigate from a current window or tab to another window or tab of the web browser when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in the first horizontal direction or the second horizontal direction.
32 . The mobile computer system of claim 31 , wherein the other window or tab is a window or tab opened after the current window or tab when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in the first horizontal direction.
33 . The mobile computer system of claim 31 , wherein the other window or tab is a window or tab opened before the current window or tab when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in the second horizontal direction.
34 . The mobile computer system of claim 26 , wherein the performed non-touch-based gesture is a movement of a hand in a first vertical direction with respect to the mobile computer system or a second vertical direction with respect to the mobile computer system.
35 . The mobile computer system of claim 34 , wherein the request to navigate the web page is a request to scroll up when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in the first vertical direction.
36 . The mobile computer system of claim 34 , wherein the request to navigate the web page is a request to scroll down when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in the second vertical direction.
37 . One or more non-transitory computer-readable media (NTCRM) comprising instructions, wherein execution of the instructions by one or more processors is to cause a mobile computer device to:
display an icon to notify a user that a non-touch-based gesture capability can be used to navigate a web page without touching a touch-sensitive display of the mobile computing device; receive sensor data from one or more sensors of the mobile computing device, the sensor data being based on a performed non-touch-based gesture; translate the sensor data into a request to navigate the web page; and send the request to a web browser to execute an action in accordance with the request.
38 . The one or more NTCRM of claim 37 , wherein the performed non-touch-based gesture is a movement of a hand with respect to the mobile computer device.
39 . The one or more NTCRM of claim 37 , wherein:
the request to navigate the web page is a request to page forward when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in a first horizontal direction with respect to the mobile computer device; and the request to navigate the web page is a request to page backward when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in a second horizontal direction, wherein the second horizontal direction is opposite to the first horizontal direction.
40 . The one or more NTCRM of claim 37 , wherein:
the request to navigate the web page is a request to navigate from a current window or tab to a subsequently opened window or tab of the web browser when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in a first horizontal direction with respect to the mobile computer device; and the request to navigate the web page is a request to navigate from a current window or tab to a window or tab of the web browser opened previous to the current window or tab when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in a second horizontal direction, wherein the second horizontal direction is opposite to the first horizontal direction.
41 . The one or more NTCRM of claim 37 , wherein:
the request to navigate the web page is a request to scroll up when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in a first vertical direction with respect to the mobile computer device; and the request to navigate the web page is a request to scroll down when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in a second vertical direction with respect to the mobile computer device, wherein the second vertical direction is opposite to the first vertical direction.
42 . A method of operating a mobile computer device, the method comprising:
displaying an icon to notify a user that a non-touch-based gesture capability can be used to navigate a web page without touching a touch-sensitive display of the mobile computing device; receiving sensor data from one or more sensors of the mobile computing device, the sensor data being based on a performed non-touch-based gesture; translating the sensor data into a request to navigate the web page; and sending the request to a web browser to execute an action in accordance with the request.
43 . The method of claim 42 , wherein the performed non-touch-based gesture is a movement of a hand with respect to the mobile computer device.
44 . The method of claim 42 , wherein:
the request to navigate the web page is a request to navigate from a current window or tab to a subsequently opened window or tab of the web browser when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in a first horizontal direction with respect to the mobile computer device; and the request to navigate the web page is a request to navigate from a current window or tab to a window or tab of the web browser opened previous to the current window or tab when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in a second horizontal direction, wherein the second horizontal direction is opposite to the first horizontal direction.
45 . The method of claim 42 , wherein:
the request to navigate the web page is a request to scroll up when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in a first vertical direction with respect to the mobile computer device; and the request to navigate the web page is a request to scroll down when the performed non-touch-based gesture is the movement of the hand in a second vertical direction with respect to the mobile computer device, wherein the second vertical direction is opposite to the first vertical direction.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
