Vent Cover with Integrated Drain Tube Attachment

Abstract

The present embodiments provide a vent cover with an integrated drain tube attachment. The vent cover provides a structure for fastening or attaching a drain tube and guiding condensate from behind the vent cover in a controlled fashion. The structure is provided on a cover for connection of a drain tube rather than allowing the drain tube to simply float behind the cover. This positioning allows for controlled drainage in a manner that is preselected and retains the drain tube in a desired position.

1 . A vent cover for a recreational vehicle, comprising:
 a peripheral boundary;   at least one cover plate disposed within said peripheral boundary, said at least one cover plate having a front side and a rear side;   at least one grate extending from a rear side of said at least one cover plate;   at least one vent aperture formed in said at least one cover plate;   a recess formed relative to a front side of said at least one cover plate and below said at least one grate; and,   a drain attachment located to drain fluid through into said recess.   
     
     
         2 . The vent cover of  claim 1 , said at least one grate having a surface adjacent to said recess. 
     
     
         3 . The vent cover of  claim 2 , said drain attachment being vertically oriented relative to said surface. 
     
     
         4 . The vent cover of  claim 2  further comprising said drain attachment disposed in said surface. 
     
     
         5 . The vent cover of  claim 3 , said drain attachment being circular with one or more slots. 
     
     
         6 . The vent cover of  claim 2 , comprising an aperture in said surface. 
     
     
         7 . The vent cover of  claim 5 , said drain attachment disposed in said aperture. 
     
     
         8 . The vent cover of  claim 2 , said drain attachment extending from said surface. 
     
     
         9 . The vent cover of  claim 1 , said drain attachment having internal drain holes. 
     
     
         10 . The vent cover of  claim 2 , said drain attachment having external or internal threads. 
     
     
         11 . The vent cover of  claim 2 , said drain attachment being horizontally oriented. 
     
     
         12 . The vent cover of  claim 11 , said surface being vertically oriented. 
     
     
         13 . The vent cover of  claim 11 , said drain attachment being circular and having one or more slots. 
     
     
         14 . The vent cover of  claim 11 , said drain attachment having one or more drain holes. 
     
     
         15 . The vent cover of  claim 11 , said drain attachment having external or internal threads. 
     
     
         16 . The vent cover of  claim 11 , said drain attachment draining through said at least one grate and into said recess. 
     
     
         17 . A vent cover for a recreational vehicle, comprising:
 a cover plate having a peripheral boundary;   at least one vent aperture formed in said cover plate;   a recess formed adjacent to said at least one vent aperture and along a rear side of said cover plate, said recess being a trough-shaped structure;   a grate disposed above said recess;   a drain attachment disposed near said grate configured to allow fluid flow into said recess; and,   a closure formed on said cover plate.   
     
     
         18 . The vent cover of  claim 17 , said drain attachment being horizontally oriented or vertically oriented. 
     
     
         19 . The vent cover of  claim 17 , said cover plate configured to cover an opening of the recreational vehicle. 
     
     
         20 . A vent cover for a recreational vehicle, comprising:
 a cover plate having a peripheral boundary;   at least one vent aperture formed in said cover plate;   a recess formed adjacent to said at least one vent aperture and along a rear side of said cover plate;   a grate disposed above said recess and adjacent an upper edge of said recess; and,   a drain attachment disposed near said grate configured to allow fluid flow into said recess.
