Abstract

The present invention generally relates to a smart modular travel bag including a suitcase with a removable portable battery charger. Specifically, embodiments of the present invention are directed toward a modular travel, garment bag or similar container system that can be customized based on the needs of the user. Furthermore, the various modules or segments of the bag may have different shapes and sizes so as to be adapted to carry items, with such modules or segments being combinable in varying arrangements to provide a flexibly configured bag that is suitable for a variety of uses. Some of such modules may comprise a battery. The present invention also relates to a method for using a smart modular travel bag and for a packaging system for suits, blazers and jackets from garment, fashion and retail brands.

1 . A modular bag comprising:
 a luggage comprising a main body, a side wall, a storage cavity formed inside of said main body, a locking mechanism that secures the access to said storage cavity located at said side wall, one or more opening that provides access to said storage cavity, a retractable handle, and two or more wheels;   a detachable portable battery; and   a securing element which is used to detachably secure said detachable portable battery and said luggage;   wherein said luggage and said detachable portable battery are configured to provide a detachable connection between the battery and the luggage;   wherein said detachable connection may be a connector consisting of springs;   wherein said storage cavity of the luggage can be accessed without the need of removing the detachable portable battery from the luggage;   wherein the detachable portable battery is able to be removed without the need to open said opening of said luggage;   wherein said detachable portable battery completely slides into the luggage;   wherein, when said detachable portable battery completely slides into said luggage, the overall size of the resulting modular bag is no larger than the overall size of the single said luggage; and   wherein each of the luggage and the detachable portable battery is capable of functioning independently.   
     
     
         2 . The modular bag of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a front housing of said main body;   a rear housing of said main body;   an openable lid system connected to said securing element and comprised of a lid and an opening that is configured to introduce said detachable portable battery into said luggage; and   a battery housing fixture located below said openable lid system that is configured to accommodate inside said detachable portable battery when it completely slides into said luggage;   to wherein said battery housing fixture comprises said connector consisting of springs that acts as an ejection mechanism;   wherein, if said detachable portable battery is inside said battery housing fixture, said ejection mechanism ejects said detachable portable battery when a user opens said openable lid;   wherein said openable lid system is located in an aperture formed at said rear housing of the luggage; and   wherein said lid opens said aperture by the action of a user.   
     
     
         3 . A modular bag comprising:
 a luggage comprising a main body, a side wall, a storage cavity formed inside of said main body, one or more opening that provides access to said storage cavity located at said side wall, and a locking mechanism that secures said opening, and two or more wheels;   a detachable portable battery;   a carrying element comprising a retractable handle; and   a connector that includes a spring and that reversibly connects said detachable portable battery and said luggage;   wherein said connector is part of an attachment point that is connected to said to carrying element;   wherein said carrying element further connects with the luggage at an additional point of connection;   wherein said additional point of connection is different than said attachment point;   wherein the storage cavity of the luggage can be accessed without the need of removing the detachable portable battery from the luggage;   wherein the detachable portable battery is able to be removed without the need to open said opening of said luggage;   wherein said detachable portable battery is able to slide into said module connector; and   wherein each of the luggage and the detachable portable battery is capable of functioning independently.   
     
     
         4 . The modular bag of  claim 3 , further comprising:
 a front housing of said main body;   a rear housing of said main body;   an openable lid system located at said attachment point and comprised of a lid and an opening that is configured to introduce said detachable portable battery into said luggage; and   a battery housing fixture located at said attachment point and below said openable lid system;   wherein said battery housing fixture is configured to act as said module connector that reversibly connects the detachable portable battery and the luggage by accommodating said detachable portable battery inside said battery housing fixture;   wherein said springs of said module connector are located at the bottom of said battery housing fixture, acting as an ejection mechanism;   wherein, if said detachable portable battery is inside said battery housing fixture, said ejection mechanism ejects said detachable portable battery when a user opens said openable lid;   wherein said openable lid system is located in an aperture formed at said rear housing of the luggage; and   wherein said lid opens said opening by the action of a user.   
     
     
         5 . A modular bag comprising:
 a luggage comprising a main body with a front and a rear housing hinged together, creating a storage cavity inside said main body, one or more opening that provides access to said storage cavity, a locking mechanism that secures the access to said storage cavity, and two or more wheels;   a detachable portable battery; and   a telescoping handle system that further comprises:
 an attachment accessory with an exterior and an interior surface, and a battery opening; 
 at least one telescopically-extendable rod comprising a top-end; 
 a handle connected to said telescopically-extendable rod at said top-end; 
 a battery housing fixture that is substantially hollow that is connected to said inside surface of the attachment accessory, and that is configured to accommodate said detachable portable battery inside said battery housing fixture; 
 an ejection mechanism comprising a spring connector and mounted within said battery housing fixture; and 
 a lid that opens by the action of a user, that is connected to said battery opening, and that provides access for said detachable portable battery to fit inside said battery housing fixture; 
   wherein said telescoping handle system is mounted within said rear housing of the luggage;   wherein said telescoping handle system is connected to said luggage by said attachment accessory;   wherein said telescoping handle system is further connected to said luggage at an additional point of connection that is different than said attachment accessory.   wherein the storage cavity of the luggage can be accessed without the need of removing the detachable portable battery from the luggage;   wherein the detachable portable battery is able to be removed without the need to open said opening of said luggage; and   wherein each of the luggage and the detachable portable battery is capable of functioning independently.   
     
     
         6 . The modular bag of  claim 5 ,
 wherein, when said battery is connected to said luggage, said detachable portable battery is removable from the outside of said luggage; and   wherein, when said battery is connected to said luggage, said detachable portable battery is accessible from the outside of said luggage.   
     
     
         7 . The modular travel bag of  claim 5 , wherein said luggage is a telescoping module or an accordion-like module, permitting said luggage to compress or reshape. 
     
     
         8 . The modular bag of  claim 5 , wherein said luggage further comprises a supplemental storage compartment formed on or attached to said front housing of the luggage. 
     
     
         9 . The modular bag of  claim 5 , wherein the luggage further comprises:
 a series of dividers to provide an organizational system within the luggage; and   a compression pad system wherein at least one compression strap is configured to generate compression forces between said compression pad system and the internal surface of said main body of the luggage.   
     
     
         10 . The modular travel bag of  claim 5 , wherein said detachable portable battery further comprises one or more electronic ports;
 wherein said lid is hinged to said attachment accessory, having a close and open configuration;   wherein, when said detachable portable battery is inside said luggage, said lid reveals said one or more electronic ports when the lid is arranged in an open configuration; and   wherein, when said detachable portable battery is inside said luggage, said lid conceals said detachable portable battery when the lid is arranged in a close configuration.   
     
     
         11 . The modular travel bag of  claim 5 , wherein said detachable portable battery further comprises one or more electronic ports;
 wherein said lid slides inside said attachment accessory, having a close and open configuration;   wherein, when said detachable portable battery is inside said luggage, said lid reveals said one or more electronic ports when the lid is arranged in an open configuration; and   wherein, when said detachable portable battery is inside said luggage, said lid conceals said detachable portable battery when the lid is arranged in a close configuration.   
     
     
         12 . The modular travel bag of  claim 5 , wherein said lid is opened, said lid automatically closes down without the need for an action from a user. 
     
     
         13 . The modular travel bag of  claim 5 , wherein, when said detachable portable battery is inside said luggage and said lid is in an opened configuration, said ejection mechanism partially pushes out automatically said detachable portable battery from said battery housing fixture. 
     
     
         14 . The modular travel bag of  claim 5 , wherein said lid is substantially flush with the exterior surface of said attachment accessory. 
     
     
         15 . The modular travel bag of  claim 5 , further comprising a space created between said attachment accessory and said rear housing of said luggage;
 wherein said battery housing fixture is located at said space;   wherein said battery housing fixture is not directly accessible by a user from said storage cavity of said luggage; and   wherein said battery housing fixture comprises at least one ventilation hole.   
     
     
         16 . The modular travel bag of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 a securing element used to detachably secure said detachable portable battery and said luggage in a non end-to-end connection;   at least one additional handle;   a plurality of bumpers; and   a longitudinal tube connected to said telescopically-extendable rod, that comprises a top section and a bottom section;   wherein, when said telescoping handle system is in a compressed configuration, said top section of said longitudinal tube abuts said handle; and   wherein said additional point of connection between said telescoping handle system and said luggage is located at said bottom section of said longitudinal tube.   
     
     
         17 . The modular travel bag of  claim 5 , wherein said locking mechanism of said luggage is a zipper. 
     
     
         18 . The modular travel bag of  claim 5 , wherein said locking mechanism of said luggage is at least one of a biometric, digital, electronic, magnetic, or near-field communications lock. 
     
     
         19 . The modular travel bag of  claim 5 , wherein said main body of said luggage comprises a hard shell. 
     
     
         20 . A method for removing a detachable portable battery from a piece of luggage comprising the following steps:
 using the fingers of the user to manually slide a lid that is connected to a securing element;
 when said lid is in a completely opened configuration, said securing element automatically detaches the battery from the luggage; 
 when said securing element automatically detaches the luggage and the battery, an ejection mechanism comprising springs automatically ejects said detachable portable battery out of said luggage, exposing at least a section of said battery to the outside of the luggage; 
   using the fingers of the user to take out the detachable portable battery from the luggage by grabbing the battery from the said exposed section of the battery;   wherein said securing element is part of a retractable handle system of the luggage that comprises a retractable handle; and   wherein the user can perform said manual sliding of the lid without the need to extend said retractable handle.
